Kheldian Sash
Yes, it would.
Apparently we aren't going to, though. Reasons tend to be one or more of the following:
- It's an NPC specific piece.
- It would require a new anchor point, and we don't have one there.
- Too many clipping issues.
- More "flapping" stuff = bad in groups (adds to lag.)
- Just "no."
Well, it could be used as a belt, Secondly they could make it stiff just like the old hanging belts (the various karate looking ones) and as for "no" people said that about walk. I think if enough people supported it, they would add it in. Oh yeah, NPC specific, my first post in regards to vill epics makes that invalid.
You're really preaching to the choir here. The sashes are one of the most frequently requested things in the Kheldian community.
Bill was only giving you the reasons we've heard in the past for why we won't get them/haven't got them yet.

Yeah i figured, i was just pitching back reasons why their reasons are faulty :P
I mean whats the deal, they can give people walk but not a silly belt sash to make kheldians feel special?
Well to play Devil's Advocate a bit that isn't exactly a fair comparision. First off, Walk applies to everyone while the Kheldian sash would presumably be just for Kheldians (though a case could be made for unlocking it via the Moonfire TF for all heroes). So it makes sense to do the thing that benefits the most people and addresses the requests of the most players first. Walk works for heroes and villains and had been requested for a very long time.
Secondly, the Walk power was done on the fly in spare time and was not an official Dev project. We're lucky we got it. And it was something people had been asking for, well, forever.

In terms of more "flapping" costume parts, they could just do the same thing they did with trench coats and make it so you can't have a cape (or a trench coat for that matter) if you use the sash.
Also, I don't buy the "NPC only costume part" bit. If there's an issue with our power customization because they're too storyline based, then we're already kind of being treated as an NPC for that matter. So in terms of no power customization ( for THAT excuse, I know very were there are other factors to why we don't have any yet ) we're getting the worst of both worlds.
So do I want a sash? Yes. And I understand that there are other factors that are leading to all this. But as for the NPC-only deal...no, that one doesn't sit with me.
Couldn't they just make the sash static instead of animated to make it easier? I guess that'll cause clipping issues, though.
I'd love to have the sash myself, especially because I have an "official Peacebringer" outfit of sorts fashioned after Sunstorm and Moonfire, but it's just not one of those pressing concerns, I'm afraid. I'll be happy if we get it, but if we don't, I won't be bothered.

Others have made good points, like Astrolynx with the flapping issues, but IMHO there's only one reason why we haven't gotten a sash and likely won't - Kheldian players really don't care enough about it to make it an issue. This topic resurfaces periodically (on what? a quarterly cycle?) and while everyone who weighs in agrees they would like to have one, we're all pretty much content with the answers we've been given (myself included) and are universally non-committal as to when or if what is basically an ascetic feature gets implemented.
There have always been other things we wanted more.

Making it non-animated (I honestly didn't notice it was in the first place) as a standard belt would be nice...*shrug*
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I was another who didn't even realise they were animated. I would absolutely love to have a static version as a belt option. I wouldn't be too fussed if it was limited to Kheldians, unlocked with the Moonfire TF, or just opened up to all. I just really don't like using the 'tied cloth' belt as an alternative for my more 'Kheldian Pride!' costumes.
Okay, what we really need now is a Kheldian Pride Parade.
I don't know, its not a pressing matter that requires attention, though it is something the design team could easily produce and add that extra flavor to the AT and or TF. They can do it, there isn't any real reason that couldn't be overcome as to why they cannot. To think they cant for any specific reason would be foolish. Who knows if the design team has even heard the cry for the sash before, and if they have it probably was not a big poke. It is quite possible if they saw a thread or two about it, they might actually throw it in on a random issue/patch.
Well, hopefully the lowered requirements for Khelds and new animated tails will make the sash more possible.
They also have some options after some of the belt/hip things they have done, like for the Samurai hip armor, and the recent martial arts pack stuff.

Who knows, but i dont think we should just stop caring because the devs wont do it. Theres no doubt in my mind they will, it's not like khelds get to color powers so the entire issue of power coloring was useless to dedicated kheld players.
Oooh. Somehow I missed that part. I was too excited about some of the other features. (New Positron TF and emailing influence ftw!)
Thanks!

I have asked Sexy Jay himself about the Kheldian Sash sometime last year and his response was that we'll have them if he gets around to porting them. That doesn't mean he'll ever get around to it for whichever reason but at least it wasn't a straight-up "no".
You know, I've always heard he was quite sexy.

One can always dream! I mean we gotz our butt capes no? *prays to the nerd gods*
If you notice moonfire or sunstorm, they both have a sash on their waist. Villain epics allow you to get arachnos costume parts, why can't PB/WS characters get the kheldian eye aura or the waist sash as a costume unlock? Yes i understand they get cool squid and lobster shapes, but a lot of people stay human form. It's not a game shattering situation, but it would be nice for hero epic AT's to also get a special costume unlock, no matter how small the sash/aura may be.
