I still dont get why some of the boosters got a raised price*shrugs* as it stands Science Pack is at least is outrageous...
Former Pack: $9.99
Current:
Costume Pieces 400 points $5.00
Super Tailor 800 points $10.00
Experiment Emote 40 points $.50
Calculate Emote 40 points $.50
Drink Formula CC 80 points $1.00
Super Serum CC 80 points $1.00
Grand Total: 1440 points $18.00
Just for science I'll check the Martial Arts one and do the same with the above.
Current:
Costume Pieces 400 points $5.00
Ninja Run 500 points $6.25
bring it Emote 40 points $.50
Push ups Emote 40 points $.50
Smoke Bomb CC 80 points $1.00
Ninja Leap CC 80 points $1.00
Grand total 1,140 points $14.25
I dont want stuff for free. I dont mind paying for powersets if that means it will keep them coming on a regular basis. I didnt mind the, honestly, a bit overpriced character slots(I even bought them, cause I could make good use of them as an RPer)... But when I see that things that dont need an extra effort from the dev's part(cause they are already there, some with small bugs and clipping issues that NEVER got solved) and just gets a bump of price of 50% or more... I dont feel that is ethic. It's simply taking advantage of new or returning players...
Just my two cents. -
I am wondering... I see that some boosters are effectively more expensive now...
I see that Super Science is worth 5 bucks(400 points), ok, that is less than the booster, but the Super Tailor function is now 10 bucks(800 points). And we are not taking into consideration the fact that the costume pack doesnt seem to point out anywhere it has the emotes and costume changes(which are 80 points if I remember correctly). Effectively making the pack over 15 bucks versus the original 9.99 it used to cost when it came out.
I have been very supportive with the design of the new system, and I can even understand the heavily priced Costume Slots and the even more heavily priced Enhancement Trays.... But didnt the devs say "we start high so we can lower later and not have an outcry"? By asking for more for everything in the science pack they are doing exactly what they said they wouldnt do.*shrugs* Just my two cents.
Now, if the Super Science bundle has the super tailor and the emotes for the 400 points(which is not said anywhere on the store) I'll gladly shut up and apologize, but that doesnt seem to be the case. -
My personal favorite from the signature characters is definitely Scirocco, well, he is second to Ghost Widow but after watching the topic a bit she got quite a bit of attention. Both have something about them that just makes sense.
The mystic aura around them, the kind of attire they have goes so well with the kind of powers they have... the Patron Arcs give you a chance to really empathize with the signature characters in CoV, which is a huge part of why I love the design on these two so much. CoH feels much like the freedom Phalanx tells you "yeah, well, i need to handle important stuff, you go take care of this", and most of them are on that "spandex/bright color" era... With the Patrons though, you go through all of their arcs from subordinate, to quasi-friend, to enemy, to ally again... their looks are just /right/.
How scirroco uses his powers during fights is a clear example of this. Being the less evil(doesnt even consider himself such) from the Patrons, makes him someone really nice to get on his shoes.
Blueside, BaBs wins hands down. Seriously. He is this guy with uber globes, and no spandex... He looks like a down to earth guy and the main reason why I always choose Galaxy as a start point.
Praetoria, Cole. Not his tights outfit, no... The White Suit(tm?) version of himself. This guy looks down to earth... he even comes down and talks to you when its required(Neuron's arc!). Say what you want about his methods, this guy is always shiny and clean and wants you to trust him... someone who lost faith in humanity that has decided to act like Big Brother to keep all of us safe. Really, you dont achieve that without one hell of a charisma and a good PR team, and Cole has both. -
A few questions for those that went to Comicon.
Are the new costume slot purchases global? 800pp per slot per character seems excesive to me I think?
Also... Zone Teleport. How exactly does it work? TPs you to the adjacent zones? It brings down a list like the Train and give you access to all zones you have visited before? I love teleport, so I'd like to know a bit more about this! -
When we have the global friend list up, we know what level they are, what map they are on, their team size... A lot of useful information to stalk our global friends.
I do think that there is something missing, and that is the current aligment. I dont get anything from knowing what origin my friend is(lets face it, origin has little to no impact on the game), but I get a lot from knowing if he is a hero a villain or something else.
I think i heard there were no changes coming in the UI anytime soon, but I thought it was worth mentioning we could use better a tab of alighments than one with origins. -

Torrent and Nightfall were merged into a single power: Umbral Torren
I love Nightfall, if Umbral Torrent will have KB on blasters thats one power im not looking forward to. -
The lag is so bad that I summon my pets for the prisioner escape base(the lore ones, the ones that last.. 5 minutes, you know?), and they are still around by the team we manage to beat up siege and NS at the same time.
This is not some minor lag, not lag like on the ITF where it had parts that it would get ugly. This is lag that is affecting EVERYONE, they can type, they get normal typing time, but people cant move or use powers effectively. Making it longer and more frustrating. -
Maybe someone has any idea of this...
If people arent aware, there are 2 links for the new NCSoft launcher, one that is called COH_Installer.exe(first link provided) and the second one called NCSoftLauncherSetup.exe that can be found in other links.
I used the first one, and had an issue where the patcher would go on an infinite loop and wouldnt start. OK, uninstall, reinstall(even reinstall game), same issue.
Now, with the NCSoftLauncherSetup.exe(provided by the tech support), I CAN launch the game... sort of... when it starts to install CoH(or when updating it) it would only launch the OLD launcher, and thats it.
I have reinstalled, tried a few times, uninstalled everything CoH related. What's worse, I tried to do this on my newly formated laptop to no avail. It would still launch the old updater.
(Yes, I have followed the fabled link to the FAQ/Fix, as well as sent everything tech support has thrown at me... Im kinda hopeless at this point).
Help? -
Quote:Even on my laptop(never had CoH and is recently formated), the new patcher launches the old patcher. I cant download the fix, and I have sent the respective PMs already. I really dont know what else to do, and it shouldnt be registry related since my other computer behaves the exact same way(I have redownloaded the launcher to see if it was download related even)If the launcher installed and updated itself properly, it should not be starting the old patcher. Have you checked to see if you can get the file listed in this post:

If not, you should follow the directions at the bottom of that post. -
I had the infinite loop thing with the launcher, did a fresh install, it now launches the patcher, cool. I dont have my wisp aura though, and I have been fighting with this thing since the announcement. I have been escalated to other supports with nothing but "we'll look into it, let me redirect you", and by now I havent heard back from them.
-
*Sighs* I didnt get my whisp aura either, did i have to do something specific to get it?
-
I have issues launching CoH. I can launch GW just fine though, with CoH it starts filling up a bar of "launching game bla bla", it dissapears as it hits 100%, then it appears again, and fills up in an infinite loop. :\

Its not the face itself... is the color pattern The shades are even there, we just need to be able to control one of the layers better I think? A pattern of two colors on the grey wolf head would be the easiest way to deal with people that want fox-ish heads.
-
-
Subjective: I love the pack, I really do. I wish wolfs/dogs have had a bit more of variety, at least where face is concerned. The greywolf only has one color to choose, same with the other head. If the grey wolf had had an option to have two tones, like lets say the lower part of the face could be pick white it could have served as a fox face for the most part.
Other than that, I love the pack. Just saw too much love for cats(appreciated still!) whereas I would have liked to see a bit more for wolves. -
Quote:QFTDear Devs,
I just wanted to throw in that while this bug may be quite annoying, I still really appreciate you guys getting us new content as quickly as possible. I'm sure that things can be done in the future to keep large bugs like this from discouraging players, but don't let the complaints blind you all to the fact that we were all really really excited to see i19.5 go live yesterday, and more people had a ton of fun without issue than got mapservered.
~Masked Secretary of Champion Server
It was a pleasant surprise to see this go live yesterday. Im really happy about it, and even though crashed happened I would go and say that more people had fun than crashes so, keep the good work devs! -
I agree with the WST being for all TF/SF rather than just the high end ones... At first I thought... "heck, its supposed to be epic and all...why would I get better in my incarnate path in a Posi?" but then I thought that the WST is only a way to get the rare alpha NOW, after i20 comes with the incarante trials, there will be more ways to get the level shift that isnt the WST. The extra rewards for the WST should be available for everyone, no incarnate would benefit from a 2/3 their level in xp :P

I must say im quite pleased with the new changes I have seen so far. For instance, it gives new and more interesting rewards for running TFs, some TFs are really hard to find teams for anyway, and with new content on its way the fact that they are making TFs interesting a way is a nice plus.
As for the people that seem to avoid teaming... I'd suggest to maybe give it a try? There are many helpful SGs and coalitions out there, sadly the majority of people play on teams on a game that it's intended to be a multiplayer experience. Not all TFs require hours to complete, even without speed runs. The so called "solo players" who achieved 50 on their own usually say that they cant spend hours on a single TF... but when you come to think about it, it takes quite a bit of time to even achieve 50 as a solo when compared to a person who pugs regularly, one would thing patience was in their ways.
I wouldnt mind if there are solo ways to acomplish things, but i dont mind either if the devs want to dedicate their time to exploit the potential that teams have and create content that encourages teaming. We should be glad CoH is solo friendly enough that you can achieve 50 with not much grinding, and same goes to get fairly good drops/equipment... in other MMOs the real end game and where you get the uber-equipment-everyone-wants it requires you to join radis for a gazillion people, that not always works too well.
We should be thankful to our devs that so many things are different from other MMOs than keep the griefing over that ONE THING that they said they'll try to fix in the future anyway. -
Almost 2 years and still...
-Havent finished a Shard TF, tried it once, took a long while. I avoided the rest like the plague.
-Look for belts in the lower body parts.
-Hate Epic ATs(im starting to get fond of VEATS though)
-If the character is softcapped, Inspirations are stocked with Oranges and Greens, if the character is not softcapped, purples all the way and one column of blues. -
Part of my is praying you are moving to help with Guild Wars 2 *grins*
Now, seriously, you have done a lot for this game and I wish you well on anything you set your mind on doing from now on. You'll be missed -

Quote:Your first morality mission gives you 50 merits. But from the 2nd time you do them and beyond that point you get a hero merit. So no, you dont NEED to pay 20 mill everytime you want/need a hero merit. Just get your morality mission a second+ time and do it!You have to pay 20 million INF per merit, though, right? About 20 days of tip farming and 400 milliion INF for one recipe? If so, it really doesn't seem to offer much advantage to the casual player over AE farming to buy recipies to craft and sell, then buying the purples off the market. Just an impression.

As per usual... Void in Puerto Rico*Sighs* Good luck to the rest of the participants though!

My pleasure, my ninja/dark is one of my favorite characters to play, even above my highly resistant Bots/FF.
I just noticed one more hole... Howling. I wouldnt go without that. Maybe get rid of one arrow attack? That power is huge, AoE Debuff to Regen comparable to that of the Rad, it /stuns/ targets, and it happens to rez everyone near you potentially being able to rescue a wipe. Definitely one of the jewels of the set.
THe rest of it, looks pretty solid for a normal no-sets build
