Quote:I was working on a build for tanking STFs on my Dark/SS tanker, and specifically at that. Instead, I went with E/N defense bonuses, to reduce my chances of getting hit by any of GW's evil stuff, as well as shore up the Energy hole.I do think that the low resistance levels available from IOs is kind of silly.
I agree, though, Resist bonuses are low, and a lot rarer than defense bonuses (unless you're looking at Psi/Toxic, which I wasn't due to working on a DA). -
It's still not *free*. The suggestion is a free tailor in Outbreak to allow you to quickchange a costume if you realize how ugly something is in different lighting. Or, post I16, if your attack powers and armor powers combine to look vaguely like dog vomit.

Did you even look at the dropdown box on the top where you can select a language, or even particular community reps/devs?

This. If I think the tank is taking too long, I will start it (minor exceptions for certain *very* nasty rooms). My Grav/FF will wormhole the mobs onto the tank's taunt aura as a gentle reminder, or my Ice^3 blaster will show why he's kinda tankish with a good ol' Aim, BU, Ice Storm, Blizzard, pop blue, Frost Breath, Hibernate.

Quote:Wait, what? You mean my elec brute doesn't have good Psi resist in Static Shield? You mean the real numbers are lying to me?While Energy and electric seemed more technologic, yet the psi resist was lost
(In other words, Elec Armor has always had psi resist, try reading the power info better.) -
No. Hugely overpowered compared to what we have now. If 18 seconds of re-buffing every 4 minutes (360 seconds) is a "pain in the butt", play something else. I don't want my bubbles to require me to gather the team, and spend 45 end on each.

Quote:Wrong.I found that the combination of OG and the streakbreaker code was forcing misses on some of my other attacks.
The streakbreaker does not force misses. You can end up with the forced hit being on something like OG, where you don't do damage, but the streakbreak does not break hit streaks, and never has. -
The real problem Jack had is that he had horrible people skills. He was a great developer, but he did *not* know how to interact with people, and especially not with customers.

Quote:Except that Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge is a different bonus from a 7.5% set bonus.agree'd it is 5 but be careful its 5 of the same bonus the bonus is 7.5% recharge lotg's not the only io set with that bonus.
although its unlikely most toons that would be setting that much recharge would have need of taunt there is a taunt set with 7.5 as well. -
Quote:I don't believe Benumb self-stacks, like most other debuffs. And the reason Rad is better for soloing is it also has AM (which can be permaed in a high-recharge build), and there's less "upkeep" for your debuffs. So again, what about a Cold? Is the reason no cold b/c there isn't a self heal? I thought for AV debuffing Cold was the King. Or, to put it another way; for single target Debuffing, Cold, for AOE debuffing RAD? Does benumb stack? If it does that's huge against AV's.
Also, I don't think Sonic can keep up as well as people say, as its -res debuffs do not entirely make up for its massively lower damage. I would think, actually, that Energy/Rad or Arch/Rad corrs might do better for that reason, with a higher base damage to start from. Maybe Ice or Fire to leverage the blaster-level damage rains. -
Quote:It's just a case of randomness being quite random, and not always in your favor. Alternately, enemies with defense.Quick Question: Has anybody else noticed if they are missing on their to-hit rolls, missing on their attacks. It seems that my level 50 stalker has been WELL below average on his to-hit success lately. (I usually moniter my to-hit roll and will glance up when I miss). My Martial Arts Stalker is slotted around 65% to hit bonus in attacks with a Touch of Death Set, Mako Set, and 2 Kinetic Combat Sets + acc/dam/rech in my 4 melee attacks (including Assassin Strike) and a Thunderstrike Set in Dark Blast. I usually have 95% to hit white/yellow/orange minion class mobs.
This morning I counted 25 misses out of 95 attacks, average to-hit roll was 90% (only fought 1 Boss during that run). I then hit the next 15 in a row (blue minions) running the count to 25 of 110, still well below average. I will admit that it is a small sample size but it was certianly noticable.
Anybody else notice a change.
Also, I was running my Fort earlier, taking on BABsy and Mynx, and had no accuracy issues there. -
Quote:I'm sorry you decided to play right before the servers got taken down for a) regular maintenance, or b) emergency maintenance. I was playing all that week, and, newsflash, I had zero problems staying connected.Umm so far this week every time I try to play coh it its down or I am being kicked off in 5 minutes or I have to download another upgrade. My best friend reinstated her account and after we were told 5 minutes all servers will be down. This is not good practice to keep customers that have been playing 3+ years.
Newsflash 2: every MMO has regularly scheduled maintenance.
Quote:My other complaint is forum posts that we are not allowed to respond too.
Quote:Champions is here soon. I dont wanna give up my time here but there seems to be nobody here that cares. 14.99 a month plus taxes for 33 months is alot of money and I cannot play again.
Quote:Oh btw I got to pay 199.00 for liftime on Champions. That is almost the exact same price for paying 14.99 a month on COH/COV in a year.
Edit:
Quote:Well since every double XP weekend seems to be a complete lagfest and has server crashes, what makes the last one different? I don't mean to sound ungrateful. It's great to see the Devs show us some love, but what exactly will be different after issue 16 that will make the double XP experience better? -
Maybe on your server. On Virtue, Hami raids are twice weekly, per side. That's 4 per week, total. And there's usually a raid in Eden/Abyss 2 nearly ready to start while the first one is on the last stage.

Quote:Valid point, unless said squishy is using IO sets/self-buffs to have a (fairly reasonable) 22%-ish defense. If said squishy is a blapper, they can melee with 33.84% defense, rather than just their normal 22%.1) Since you have a taunt Aura being 25' away from squishies is 100% mitigation (especially from AoE) for them. Being 16'-24' away from squishies means that you are dropping extra AoE splash on them with out buffing them at all. Being 15' or less away from them you increase their chances of being hit by splash damage by 45% per AoE using MoB while giving them only 13.84% additional defense.
Alternately, combine with Maneuvers (helpful for soft-capping) to give out nearly a 20% defense buff to those around you.
Quote:2) Low personal mitigation means that when the chips are down and the team needs the group buff the most you'll be down and not providing it.
Quote:3) Any other melee teamate that needs your CG for them to survive needs to re-examine their build and playstyle because when you aren't there (which will be most of the time) they won't survive.
And personally, my non-duo characters are built to be self-sufficient, but they never pass up a helpful buff. If someone's running Grant Cover on their shielder, you can bet your butt my resist-based meleer or /regen will get close to them when they can. Not because they can't survive without the buff, but because it would be stupid not to take advantage of it. -
Only as a purchase. Rolls will always reward at your level.

Quote:You have no clue what you're talking about. Ice Armor has been in and out of FotM status for just about forever. It has the most potent taunt auras available to tankers, and can readily maintain agro without ever touching taunt, as well as survive that agro. Dark Armor has always been known as one of the most survivable scrapper sets, and retains its high survivability as a tanker set. In fact I believe the quote on that is "Dark Armor sacrifices your endurance bar on the altar of survivability... but it gives you the survivability." And with IOs to fix the endurance drain issues and lack of KB protection, the only armor that does better at surviving is Granite. And even Granite has a Psy hole. Fiery Aura has issues with tanking, yes, but the devs themselves stated that Fiery Aura was made more as a "scranker" set. Fiery Aura gives up defensive prowess to be an offensive powerhouse among tanks.Even if your not a power gamer and don't slot purples or even IO Sets. No one that plans on tanking the higher end (40-50) and have done any amount of research at all would consider Dark Armor, Ice Armor,Fire Armor etc. no one would would want to sacrifice a DPS slot on their team for a second or third healer.

You mean you don't have any friends you could go borrow a connection from to test?
-
I almost forgot that OG's even better with Spines/DA because they'll be slowed quite a bit while stumbling around stunned. Like CoF, it's only mag 2, but it really helps you chew up mobs while ignoring minions and considering them DR fodder.

Quote:OG will be twenty times better, and save you slots for other powers. It's much more accurate and can shut down toggles, and the like.I didn't try do fiddle with softcapping. Right now I'm at around 20% Defense and 52.5% resistance to Smashing/Lethal....certainly not perfect....but Cloak of Fear seems to do the trick(I'm gonna respec and try Oppressive Gloom soon to compare, perhaps even try to put up an updated guide).
Quote:As for KB, I used Acrobatics until I could afford two(One is probably enough for most content as Werner said)Steadfast -KB IOs, purchased in the early thirties.
Quote:I also don't have Hasten. I had enough End issues leveling to not bother adding to it. Personally, I don't think you need it. Between Throw Spines, Spine Burst, and Ripper, I'm kept pretty busy.
