Does the level adjuster in the merit vendor interface actually work?
Only as a purchase. Rolls will always reward at your level.

Except when the roll does not exist at your level. Then it's as close to your level as possible within the recipe's level range.
Examples:
- You are level 17 and make a random Bronze roll with your slider set anywhere. You roll a Bone Snap recipe, which is available from L10 to L25. Your recipe will be at L17.
- You are level 50 and make a random Bronze roll with your slider set at 10. Because you have elected to roll against recipes available at L10, it is now possible for you to roll a Bone Snap recipe, but when you do, it will be at L25 (as close as it can get to your level).
- You are level 50 and make a random Bronze roll with your slider set at 50. You will never roll a Bone Snap, because it doesn't occur at the level you have your slider set for.

You'd get a random Bronze recipe that's available somewhere between 10 and 14, but you'd get it at its highest available level. You could get an Achilles' Heel -Def recipe (available from levels 10-20) at level 20, or a Basilisk's Gaze Acc/Hold recipe (available from levels 10-30) at level 30, or an Air Burst Acc/Dam recipe (available from levels 10-50) at level 50.

Ok thanks for the responses. I guess I'm saving up merits for a level10 Blessing of the Zephyr KB recipe then since I can't buy one on the market.
Any reason? That's one of the ones that functions no matter how low you exemplar vs the level of the IO, as long as you have access to the power it's slotted in.

They're also ridiculously expensive. A good investment IMO.
Not a very good investment just for the KB protection, which (provided you have access to a power than slots Defense or Resist) is available must more cheaply via a Steadfast Protection or Kismet KB IO...but the set bonuses for Zephyr ARE a good investment, and the other reason to want them at a low level (those WILL drop off at IO level -3).

Always on = Set bonus. Stays on as long as you don't exemplar too low, even if you lose the power it's slotted in.
Turns on when the power is activated (procs, Numina Unique, etc) = Ignores level, activates as often as the power does; is lost if you exemplar below the level of the power it's slotted in (because the power can't be activated).
I think you meant Karma, not Kismet.

So does the recipe come out at your real level or your current level if you are exemplared?
Real level.

What the title says. If I lower the slider in the merit vendor window and buy a recipe (either through a roll or as a direct buy) will it spawn at the slider's level or my level?
Thanks
