Quote:You are correct, they are more like ninjas than samurai. However, the post I replied to stated that katanas are ALWAYS worn on the left, to be drawn by the right hand. Not "always by samurai" or anything of the sort - just a flat out ALWAYS.Okay I'm wading into unfamiliar waters here so feel free to correct me..
Isn't the reason for this because the Tsoo are fashioned a bit after the Ninja? I was under the impression that the Ninja carried their blades on their back to be more stealthy as much as because it was non-traditional? -
Quote:1> Tell that to the Tsoo, who often carry their Katanas on theire backs.Katanas do not go on the back.
ALWAYS the left hip, to be drawn by the right hand. If DB with katana blades, then they are still both on the left hip.
2> I'm not sure what would look worse: Having the Katana scabbard(s) on the left hip and drawing it from the right hip, using the left hand, or drawing both from the back, over the shoulders, completely ignoring the scabbard in either case. -
Quote:There is also another instance which shows up rarely. I don't know which bonuses, so I'm gonna make up numbers and sets.Okay, next question...
The Thunderstrike ranged dmg set gives 2 separate ranged defense bonuses - a 1.25% bonus at 3 slots and a 2.5% bonus at six slots. If I understand correctly, that counts as 2 different bonuses and NOT as a 3.75% bonus?
This will really affect my ability to softcap ranged def on my ice/em blaster...
Let's say that Pounding Snailfest gives a 1.5% bonus to Melee defense, and Blessing of the Zepplin gave a 3.0% Lethal defense. When the recent changes happened, Pounding Snailfest became a 1.5% Melee/0.75% Smashing/Lethal, and Blessing of the Zepplin became a 3.0% Smashing/Lethal/1.5% Melee.
After this change, Blessing of the Zepplin is a Ginormous Smashing/Lethal Defense bonus (not a Melee bonus), and Pounding Snailfest is still a Fantabulous Melee Defense bonus (not a Smashing/Lethal bonus), so you can have 5 of each, even though both give 1.5% Melee Defense.
I really wish I could remember which sets were making this show up, but it was tested, and it DOES work. -

What level is the recipe you want to craft? Roll in the range that includes that level. In most cases, it's obvious whether you want arcane or tech. If it's not, well... each tier only holds 6 different commons; once you have six different results from one roll, nothing else will show up. If you don't have what you needed, roll on the other type (Tech->Arcane or Arcane->Tech).

Talk to a trainer and change your title. Note that, if you are not yet 50, you have a limited number of title changes available.

Quote:Maybe they're "yelling at you" because you're willfully ignoring what you're being told.I am getting yelled at because I posted this elsewhere and was called a whiner... like I care what my monitor tells me LOL.
Quote:I thought that epic would mean both...
Quote:and I am hoping that we do get some redside epic expansions... I know heroes havent had their APP's touched in forever and the Idea of blueside getting 5 new pools and a new power is a slap in the face.
Quote:right now the other thread is considering this a miswording or a misprint...I am hoping it is.
Quote:Red side already got their 5th power. We got a new power to most of the PPP's with the exception of brutes that share a pool with VEATS... thats where I see the space for growth...
Quote:Ghost Widow would have an EPP for Night Widows and Fortunatas while Mako and Black Scorpion would get the Banes and Crabs.
Quote:In addition to that the brutes would get their additional 5th power.
From the interview:
Quote:Additionally, we also conducted a mini-proliferation pass on the Ancillary and Patron Power Pools, adding 5th powers to most Pools and adding Blaze Mastery for Scrappers. This has been something which people have been asking for since Fire primaries and secondary's were given to them. -
Quote:Ancillary = HeroSince it said epic and not epic and patron pools, my guess is that they are just doing the blue side. Red side to do it right they would have to make a new patron and a patron arc, badges, and modify existing arcs (the one where you select the patron for example) for that to really do it 'right'. Though I do hope that they do expand the red side a bit. My take on it is that the blue side will all get at least one new epic set, and all of the epic and patron sets will be expanded (unless they already have been in previous issues) to have 5 powers total instead of 4.
Patron = Villain
Epic = Both
The only new Epic Set is Blaze Mastery for Scrappers. Most Epics will receive one new power, making it so most have 5 powers to choose, as several already have. -
Actually, I imagine that all the work, except loading 3-6 items from the market database, could be done by the client. And since I can type in searches that bring up FAR more than 6 results, this should have minimal impact on the work the market server has to do.
However, I think it would be a far better idea to rebuild the market interface from scratch (Hmm... Have I heard that before?) and include this feature than to just tack this on to the existing POS (That's "Point Of Sale" not "Piece Of ***", honest!). -
Villains can't select ANY epics until they do their Patron Arc at level 40+. This means that either the arc would have to be adjusted down, which may be more difficult than we expect (who knows?), or that villains would be forced to use the respec granted by the arc if they wanted the powers at 38.
It really sounds like more effort than it's worth. -

Please, no. It's bad enough that I have to run to the Black Market after every third to fourth mission. Please don't make me cross the zone or clear my inventory after every mission. As has already been said, the drop rates are not the problem. -
Quote:This is WRONG, as per Castle. From YOUR link:The important part is the AMOUNT of the bonus. Since 2.5 = 2.50, the amount is the same. I wouldn't think that that particular combination would skirt the rules.
(See also.)
Quote:Originally Posted by CastleCastle further elaborated on the rule of five in I13 Closed Beta saying that the exclusion of more than five of the same bonuses is based on the name of the bonus and not its value.
I agree with Corebreach's assessment: Since the name is different, even if only slightly, it is a different entry in the database, and should stack an additional 5 times, ie 5 for the normal set bonus, 5 for the pvp set bonus. -
Quote:No it's not. That's one of the ones that functions as a set bonus, and turns off if you exemplar more than 3 levels below the IO.Any reason? That's one of the ones that functions no matter how low you exemplar vs the level of the IO, as long as you have access to the power it's slotted in.
Always on = Set bonus. Stays on as long as you don't exemplar too low, even if you lose the power it's slotted in.
Turns on when the power is activated (procs, Numina Unique, etc) = Ignores level, activates as often as the power does; is lost if you exemplar below the level of the power it's slotted in (because the power can't be activated). -
Except when the roll does not exist at your level. Then it's as close to your level as possible within the recipe's level range.

Origin has an increasingly minute effect on the game. I'd pay $2 to change a toon's origin, if I really wanted a title that was only available to a different origin than the one I had picked, but no more than that. For the most part though, origin has little to no impact outside roleplaying.
Even the comment about SOs -- You can make a killing by selling your drops if you don't use IOs, and buy the ones you want, or just craft common IOs. I've never found a need to slot drops. -
Quote:There's already one chain of badges that you have to team to get, why do we need another?Sums it up nicely.
(And badges for teaming = badgers teaming and leaving their systems on over night 'til they get the badge, then going back to soloing.) -
I've twice seen a teammate get two purples in a single TF, and had it happen to me once. One of the teammates got both their purples in a single mission.
It's rare, but so nice when it happens. -
But you can't apply a Booster Pack to a trial account, and if the Mac Pack is applied to a trial, the account is now full, not trial. :P

Well, since Steelclaw seems to no longer have any use for this thread, I'm gonna hijack it!
POWDER is a Roguelike originally designed for the Gameboy Advance (Through the use of either an emulator or flash cartridge). It has since been ported to MANY systems.
I have it installed on my desktop, laptop, PDA and phone. It eats up the vast majority of my spare time - it's even stolen some of my CoH time lately.
Enjoy! -
Quote:Did you actually mean to tell him to roll for recipes, list them on the market, and buy them from himself and relist them at a higher price, thereby incurring the market fee twice? My suggestion is to skip the gold class reward rolls and instead do bronze class rolls. You can get some fairly lucrative stuff, and you can often increase your profit by flipping the recipes you get.
What's the point in doing that? -
It's been having issues for quite some time. As far as I know, it hasn't been fixed yet.
Test is down for Closed Beta testing though. The copy tool will do you no good, as you will be unable to log in with that character, or any other, unless you are in Closed Beta - which you shouldn't tell us if you are - breaking the NDA will get you kicked from Beta. -
All unlockable pieces are listed here. At the top of the page are links to craftable and vet reward pieces.
Note that some of those pieces can only be unlocked during events (Winter, Valentines), through cash purchases (Valkyrie, Cyborg, etc), or are no longer available through the original means (Arachnos Helmets) in addition to the standard unlockables.
