Market Autosearch

Ok, I saw this as a thread title under the market forums, and it had absolutely no relation to the idea that popped into my head as a result.

The idea that came to mind was a window added to the market where you could drag a recipe from your inventory. The market would then search and automatically bring up the listings for any salvage needed for that recipe so you could bid on it.

Ok, so it's probably a lot of work for something that can be done manually, and would probably add even more load onto an already overworked market server, but I think that should the devs find the time to put it in, it would make for a nice little QoL addition that would limit the amount of window juggling that I do whenever I have a lot of stuff to craft.

Actually, I imagine that all the work, except loading 3-6 items from the market database, could be done by the client. And since I can type in searches that bring up FAR more than 6 results, this should have minimal impact on the work the market server has to do.

However, I think it would be a far better idea to rebuild the market interface from scratch (Hmm... Have I heard that before?) and include this feature than to just tack this on to the existing POS (That's "Point Of Sale" not "Piece Of ***", honest!).

I have longed for this feature many times. After all, unless you're looking for salvage to flip or you're planning ahead and stockpiling salvage for recipes you don't own yet, you're typically only looking for salvage needed for recipes in your inventory. I'd settle for a checkbox filter "only show salvage used by my recipes." As noted in the first reply, this can be done mostly by the client, so I don't think it'd be a crushing load on the market server. And it'd be a tremendous QoL improvement.

As long as we're talking about the market interface, I'd also like to see an option for an improved history view. In addition to last 5 trades, I'd like to be able to see things like "weighted daily average, weighted average of last 7 days, weighted average of last 30 days".

I'd also like to be able to specify a level range for bids. If I'm bidding on an expensive recipe I'm quite often willing to settle for a range of levels but to cover that range with bids now requires bidding multiple times. Like if I want a Celerity +Stealth, I'd really like to be able to set my bid and then specify that anything from 1 to 50 is acceptable.

End of threadjack.

All the better, then! Devs! To work! :P

Seriously, though, I'd agree that the market interface needs a serious overhaul. I'd take the ability to bid on a level range for my recipes. Also, maybe some way of embedding my recipes and savage into the market interface so I don't have to keep switching between them. It's a small thing, but would limit the irritation I get from playing with the market.
