Free tailor in tutorial

You know, this may sound stupid and a bit late in the games life, but it'd be really nice to have a free tailor in the tutorial/outbreak area so if you missed or forgot something or think something is uglier than you thought it was going to be you could switch it right then and there.

As a hero all you have to do in i16 is hop over to RWZ for a quick fix.

Villains, well...

It's still not *free*. The suggestion is a free tailor in Outbreak to allow you to quickchange a costume if you realize how ugly something is in different lighting. Or, post I16, if your attack powers and armor powers combine to look vaguely like dog vomit.

Zolgar would support this option..
As long as it was not included in the Flashback version.

Of course, vet players would ***** and moan "It's not fair that if I want to be able to test my look in game before finalizing it, I have to run the tutorial." ... Not that I care mind you

It would also go quite well with Zolgar's suggestion to make unlockable costume items account wide, if they had to be awarded by badges still.

.
You assume much. Vet players have asked for this as well, as the lighting in the character creator/tailor is much different than "in the world."

I did not say that ALL vet players would *****.
Nor did I say that they would ***** about the free tailor.

I said they would ***** about not being to get a free costume change if they skipped the tutorial
(Most players I know do, myself included usually.. Now if you could get a free change in the tutorial, I might not.)

It might also work to place a tailor in AP and Mercy, and any character under level 5 (10?) doesn't have to pay for tailoring sessions? (It would allow for a lot more fine tuning to get a look perfect)
*thinks* 'in game' reasons for tailors in those zones.
AP, easy. AP is one of the main hubs of Paragon.
Mercy... There's a Face Maker in Mercy, because a lot of people come over from the Zig and are starting a new life, whichever side of the law they may be on, and as such they may wish to have their appearance changed, so that they are no longer recognized as the person they used to be..

I'm not really for or against this idea but you just just just made that character do you really need to change the look right away? Maybe ya do like I said I'm not for or against this.

The main thing that gets people asking for this, even pre-power customization, is that the lighting and surroundings in the costume creator make it look much different than "on the street." Usually it's a matter of adjusting colors once you see how it "really" looks - and if you have everything "just right" (including bio) except that, it'd be nice to be able to make the quick tweak instead of rerolling.

I started off thinking this is a Good Idea!

I usually do the tutorial on new toons even after 40+ months. The Isolator's a pretty good way of guaging whether or not I will like the concept, but often cossies don't look the same in game as they do in creator. With I16 I imagine that'll be even more relevant, and it can often take longer to go back to the creator and remake the toon than it can to tweak the cossie.

Maybe it needs a Tailor and each new toon gets a "Free Costume Token" on creation... so it's optional but you can benefit from it at a later stage.

But as I wrote this it occurred to me that you can get to the tailor in Pocket D very quick and at low level paying for a change isn't expensive. That's equally accessible from both heroes and villains, so it could be argued that this isn't huge benefit.

Which means I've just wasted a lot of letters saying "I'm ambivalent"

I really do want an Tailor representative in Breakout/Outbreak so that we can fix mistakes ON THE SPOT. The Pocket D Tailor is both far away (really far away CoV-side) and exists in some of the game's WORST light conditions by far. The Tiki Lounge is ungodly dark, and everywhere else in the club is heavily tinted either blue or red. For that matter, CoV's Facemaker is a terrible place to try out costumes because it's really dark inside.

A tailor in Outbreak, one that we can visit for free so that we may make AS MANY little changes as we like irrespective of cost is a great idea. Outbreak is easy - it has daytime light for the most part, so testing costumes in the street is easy. Breakout... Not so much. It's dark inside the prison and night outside. But then, all of CoV is needlessly dark most of the time.

So, yes, very much let us have a Tailor employee in the tutorial. It could be the right opportunity for a little lateral thinking, and it would be a great amenity. Let me ask it this way - why NOT have one?

Not dificult at all, but it's time that could be spent getting on with your new character. I've deleted a fair few "level 0" characters because I forgot to add somthing, or I didn't notice this or the other...

So I agree with this suggestion.

This is one of those things that's been suggested with constant regularity for years now. It used to be more of a problem before things like the Pocket D tailor existed. And with the I16 changes we'll have RWZ as another possibility for this.

I'd agree it would be a nice QoL feature, but it's certainly far from being a high priority. At least I can say as a Vet that if it were to happen it wouldn't bother me a bit from the "I missed out" angle. *shrugs*

If they address this issue in what passes for the Going Rogue tutorial I'd be happy enough at this point.

How about "Irritating?" Especially if it's just for a little tweak due to lighting. I'd rather be able to do that little tweak and go on, instead of having to fix the "random" color choice that can creep in, rewrite a bio and the like.

<nitpick>And there's no such thing as a level 0 character. You start at level 1. </nitpick.>

I quite agree. Have chosen several looks that simply didn't work in full range of motion and it would have been nice to change them on the fly in tutorial.

More difficult than trying a different look and seeing how it works in full motion.

Diffficult enough that there is a more user friendly design choice availab.e

I never do the tutorial, but I'd most definitely start doing it if this option was in there! Walking for 10 minutes to get to a tailor is NOT my idea of fun- and rerolling is also not fun at all, especially if you hadn't saved the costume immediately before rolling.

Also, you might end up re-rolling 3+ times trying to get it looking right in the REAL light of the game... I'd imagine that Power Customization would just exacerbate the issue.

I'd thought of having an option to access the character creator screen between the end of the tutorial and the start zone, but this is much better/easier to implement.

Also, is the Pocket D tailor still only available with the VIP pass, or has that changed?

I believe that a Kheldian Gold Standard should be based on SO's, and for anything above that... there's Platinum!

I don't think PD is a viable option. If I remember correctly you cant use the PD teleporter until you reach level 5.
