Just tried to do a hunt mission in Kings Row and there are no bad guys at all in the zone...
Except for Clockwork that is. The Clockwork Paladins are in their normal gathering area just south of the former Galaxy City gate and they are summoning minions every few seconds.
I think what is happening is that with the 3 Paladins summoning the minions so often, it's overloading the zone to the point that regular mobs can't spawn.
This is happening on Pinnacle, but maybe it's happening on other servers. If so, post here to let others know what's going on. -
Quote:On what server and play schedule, though? I know on Pinnacle, trials happen (very nearly exclusively) in the evenings, and I have heard complaints about such timing on the channels.
My home server is Pinnacle, though I do play on pretty much every English speaking server from time to time. Altitis, yeah, I got it.
I'm one of those people who "complain" about the timing of the itrials. Though to be honest, it's more observation than complaint. Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and most Saturdays I am usually not online after 8pm eastern. Sunday there is the Talsorian Guard sponsored/lead Rikti Mothership Raid at 9:30pm eastern that I try and make sure I'm a part of every week. Sometimes itrials start up afterward, but the last few weeks they haven't been happening.
Anyway, I'm usually on more in the afternoon so would I like to see more itrials happen then? Of course I would.
Only real problem is that the server population (seemingly) can not support it. I won't use numbers to say how many people are on and playing when I'm on, simply because I don't have exact numbers and without them, anything I say is speculation.
So, on that note, do I welcome a solo Incarnate path even if that path is slower and not as rewarding as doing itrials? Yes, I welcome it with open arms. The solo path should be slower, but how much slower is what is being questioned.
I trust Bill and his observations. If I would have to hardcore farm the solo incarnate content for a month to equal what I could do in a weekend with itrials, that sounds too slow to me as well.
Considering I'm not likely to become a hardcore farmer, nor are a lot of other players, that would probably mean the solo incarnate path for an "average" player would be more equal to several months of the solo incarnate path to equal what could be done in a weekend on itrials. That is way too slow.
I haven't touched Beta to see for myself all the new content that's coming our way. I decided after the last issue that I tend to play the Beta too much and when it hits live I'm burned out since nothing is new to me and start looking forward to the next issue.
I think that what I will do is take a level 50 character that hasn't done ANY incarnate work yet and see how far along I get before I give up. Apparently the Alpha slot can be unlocked with the solo path so I want to start at ground zero to get a good indication. I may even keep a journal of my progress just so I have a record.
Something tells me though that I will be giving up on this little test rather quickly as not only am I working on getting one of my older 50's incarnated, but I know I'll be making a few alts, what with Darkness control and new changes to Stalkers and of course 2xp weekend coming up. -
I'm not asking for build advice really, just general opinions. I've been debating making one of these for concept reasons for a while but I just can't decide on which AT.
My only requirement is that it can solo well enough. Not going for some super awesome leet build that can solo +4/x8 spawns, just something that will be fun and useful to teams when I am able to team with it.
Basically, with the "new" Vigilance are Defenders really THAT much worse than a Corruptor damage wise while solo? With their better buff/debuff numbers I know that some Defenders can out damage Corruptors.
I know that Scourge adds up in the end, probably giving the damage edge to the Corr, but soloing I tend not to see a lot of Scourge since I'm fighting minions and Lts 99% of the time. Although, when I do see it, it is wonderful.
It'll also be hero only, won't be going redside at all so dipping into the Patron pools won't be happening even though Scorpion Shield would make the character "better". Maybe someday, but probably not until the character has hit 50.
Perhaps someday I will decide to go all out and make the character über, but for now I just want something I won't get frustrated with. -
I won't go into your build since that kind of thing is really not my specialty. (not that anything really IS )
As far as the Numina proc goes, yes, you will have to click Radiant Aura at least once every 2 minutes to have the proc go off.
If it's in a passive like Health then the effect is perma. Otherwise in a click power, it only procs when the power is clicked and will last for 120 seconds afterwards. -
Quote:I agree, though I do have a low level Shield/EM tank I'm enjoying right now.Stalkers are the only AT I can stand energy melee on. It under performs on my brute and is unplayable on my tank. I think its the stalkers burst damage play style that seems to work well with it. And with the upcoming stalker changes I can only see the set getting better for this AT.
I'd tried multiple combinations on Stalkers and had virtually given up on them until I heard someone mention how surprisingly good an EM/Ninjitsu Stalker was. This was back well before the Energy Transfer nerf and I rolled one up. It was the first time I'd enjoyed playing a Stalker and made it to 50 just after the ET nerf. And really, the way I played it, I didn't notice the nerf as much as others.
Of course, I don't PvP at all, so I doubt I would.
I have a lvl 33 EM/Invul Brute that the ET nerf made unenjoyable for my play style and I just haven't brought myself to delete it yet.
So I can see EM being one of those power sets that may mesh well with certain AT's and/or play styles while being horrid for others. It's all personal opinion for the most part, though I'd be willing to bet that even the number crunchers would say that EM is near the bottom in terms of performance.
Improvements being made to Energy Melee at some point in the future could be possible IF the conditions are right in the Devs eyes. -
I miss the "old days" when I could throw down $10 and get a guaranteed costume set and power with the Booster Packs. Getting the Martial Arts booster was probably the best extra $10 I ever spent on the game.
I'd gladly throw another $10 at Paragon Studios if they released the Elemental Order set with the Wolf pet in a combined pack. As it is now, I guess I'll probably never get the costume set or the Wolf pet unless by some chance they are able to be purchased directly some day.
I'll grab some of the ATIO's when the option for purchasing them with reward merits appears. Or just use inf to buy them from the auction house.
I'm using my Paragon Merits for the T9 VIP costume sets so I won't be getting the packs that way either.
So, while I appreciate the new 'options' the Devs are giving us, I won't support these. I hated the idea when I first saw these Super Packs, still hate it now. I could win the lottery and I still wouldn't waste the money on these.
Super Packs = No Sale -
<QR>
Add my name to the "upset that the weapons weren't included" crowd.
Still, I might buy the set simply because the costumes are nice and it'd be good to have them from lvl 1. Not positive I'll buy it, but I've got a month to decide.
As far as those not wanting to pay for things that can be unlocked for free in-game, I can understand that, and that is why I'm not sure I will buy the pack. What I will be looking at is this, is it worth it to ME to spend $5 to have these costumes available starting at lvl 1?
If I figure it is, then I'll buy it. If after thinking it over it isn't worth it, then I won't.
There really isn't a wrong decision here as it's all personal taste. -
Not going to go through and add up all the inf I have across all my characters as I don't have that kind of time.
I don't try to go for mass inf on any character, save one, and that puts me at 2 billion right there. Of course other characters have had nice drops along the way and have a couple hundred million on them, but the majority have less than 50 mil. Usually more like 10 mil, tops.
No way the rest of my characters have more than 8 billion so I can say with some certainty that I am a solid (D). -
I should have had mine back in October but alas, still nothing. It'll get fixed when it gets fixed. Just another in a long list of minor things that need fixed that aren't game breaking.

Quote:I was hoping that the Magic Carpet would be an optional "skin" for the Rocket Board power. You'd still need to have bought the Rocket Board initially to buy the FC skin. Or if you didn't you could buy the FC for full price and then buy the RB skin at a reduced "skin price".I don't have enough characters who could fit either of these items (carpet or rocket board) into their concept to make them worthwhile even at the 450-point sale price.
If I could buy a power like this for 600 points that I could change from character-to-character to a carpet, a rocket board, a broom, a jet pack, etc., I'd jump at it because then I could use it on enough characters to make it worth the price to me.
But instead, it seems that Paragon Studios is going to make you pay for what is essentially the same thing twice (or likely more), just with some cosmetic changes.
Now that I see how things are seemingly going to work, I don't know if I'll buy the [Wolf] non-combat pet that will likely be coming, since the German Shepard pet is already here. It won't be a new skin for the GS pet but an entirely new power.
Which sucks.
I have 1 character that the Wolf Pet would be awesome for but it wouldn't make much sense with any of my other characters. The GS may work with several other characters, but I haven't bought it yet because I want the Wolf more. And since the GS pet would probably see more use than the Wolf pet, I'd prefer to just have skins that I could change for individual characters. Give my character that could use the Wolf pet that choice and then maybe start using the GS pet on other characters.
Basically, the Wolf pet isn't going to be worth it for one character and the German Shepard pet, while nice, would probably just not get used much. But if it were a stepping stone of sorts to getting the Wolf pet, I'd buy it just so I could get the Wolf skin cheaper.
Buy the base power, then purchase new skins as they come out, if I want them, and then change at the tailor.
Maybe that's the problem. Perhaps there is no way to get these powers recognized by the tailor as "simple skins" and need to be different powers. If that's the case, I understand.
However, it doesn't change the fact that what are simply cosmetic changes are being sold at full price.
And as a result, I probably won't be buying any of these now. -
Quote:I would like this question answered as well. If I could say spend $5, get me 5 'new accounts' that'd be VIP for a month and get not only 500 PP's on each of them (in addition to 2500 PP's on my main account), but tells and the ability to invite them to SG's...Question can the refer a friend work with the 1 dollar vip sale?
I could make a bunch of accounts at 1 dollar each and make 500 points per... That would be like 80 percent off points

This will be awesome!
Awesome good, or awesome bad is yet to be determined. It's on the STD* channel so it's really up in the air.
I look forward to seeing this, whether I enjoy it or not...
Battlestar Galactica was really good as were SG-1 and SG: Atlantis. But some of the other stuff they've attempted (like pretty much ALL of their movies) suck so bad they're only good for a laugh.
*Ever since they changed their name from the Sci-Fi channel, I cannot help but see the new name as "syphilis". Apologies if this offends anyone. -
Just curious if this is active yet as well. I figured it was since I saw it on the main page and decided to send a code off to a friend. When they try to use the code they keep getting an error message...
"You can't use the supplied serial code.
The supplied serial code is valid, but it can not be used to create a new account and it can not be applied to any accounts you already have."
They are on an old trial account and really want to sub to the game but they want to take advantage of the free Paragon Points to get a couple of goodies.
My friend is getting more that just a little upset about this. They sent in a ticket about this to support, but that was almost a week ago and they haven't heard anything back. It's not instilling any kind of confidence in the game with them.
I admit I want MY free points too, or I wouldn't have sent off the code. But if it hasn't started yet, that might just explain things.
I just wonder why codes can be sent out if it isn't active yet. Some clarification would be nice.
If the Refer a Friend program hasn't actually started yet, I think they should remove the link from the main page and not allow codes to be sent until the program is actually active. -
Quote:Well, I had a response all typed out and ready to hit submit when I noticed a mistake I made. Being the somewhat OCD person I am, I reloaded the page after seeing said mistake and wanted to give the whole post another once over after correcting it and low and behold I see this post from Zwill.Since we already know (and had very good indicators beforehand) that they had every intention of launching Issue 21 last week I would think that if this delay drags on much past September 20th then it'd have to be considered a significant failure on their part.

Plenty of time to work out the bugs before Halloween! My favorite time of year (in CoH, not in RL) just got a jumpstart. -
Quote:I think October 12th (next full moon after Sept 12) is more likely.Quote:Don't forget they have brand spanking new Halloween content ready to go. So it'll have to be a week or three before Halloween, which puts it around Tuesday the 11th at the latest.Quote:My guess is still first week of October, as it has been since around early August.Quote:At this point, I'll be surprised if i21 goes live before mid-October.
They won't release a new issue during an event, and the Halloween event usually runs for about 10 days, give or take. With Halloween being on Monday this year, I could see the Halloween event starting up on the Thursday before, the 27th, and having it end on or around the 7th of November.
Figure they would want at least 2 weeks of live time for i21 to work out the bugs before the event starts up and that gives an approximate i21 launch date of October 13th. I say the 11th since that would be the closest Tuesday and the VIP head-start would probably be the weekend before that so with any luck, i21 will be on the live servers for us on or around the 7th of October.
Am I right? Time will tell, but if i21 isn't live by mid October, figure the next window would be early/mid November and I really doubt they want to push it THAT far off. -
Pocket D actually replaced the original 'social gathering place', the Paragon Dance Party.

I doubt there is any realistic way I could judge and put in a particular order my favorite to least favorite AT's individually. I can lump them together easily enough by how much I tend to play them, but even that is subjective.
1. Scrappers, Tanks, Brutes, my Night Widow and Bane. Dunno why I like these as much as I do, but I do.
2. Stalkers, Blasters, Corruptors, Doms and MM's would be next.
3. Defenders. I've only ever found 1 Defender I liked enough to get it to 50, and it was one heck of a fun ride. There are a couple others I'm slowly leveling up but they just aren't as fun.
4. Controllers. I used to like them a lot, but I just can't seem to get into them like I used to. I have a feeling it's because how Doms fit my playstyle better.
5. PB's would be next. I've given these things sooo many tries over the years and it's just never caught my interest. Until recently. I decided to go back and give it another try, the first since the Kheld improvements were added a while back. Level 35 now and I have to say, while not the best character I've ever played it's starting to grow on me. I guess we'll see what happens as I get higher level.
6. Warshades. Like PB's, I've given these things a number of tries over the years, with even less success than PB's. Don't know what it is about them, but I just cannot get into them. I've seen 'shades do absolutely amazing things. I remember a few years back I was in a regular team with a player who had a human only WS and the things they did were amazing to behold. Watching them wipe out 6-8 man spawns solo was incredible, especially since this was in the low to mid 30's and before IO's!
7. Fortunatas and Crabs. My Bane was originally a Crab, but I just could not get past having those freaking legs blocking my view all the time. And the playstyle didn't fit either so I respec'd and went Bane, much happier.
As to Fortunatas, I've never even considered using a dual build for my Night Widow to try a Fortunata. Don't get me wrong, I do want to try a Fortunata, but I want it to be it's own character. The thing holding me back is I absolutely detest red side. The higher the level, the less I like it. Perhaps when i21 hits, I'll give a Fortunata a try and if it works out I can be hero side quick enough. So even though I've never tried a Fortunata and have tried a Crab, I'll still rank the Fortunata higher simply because I will never, EVER play a Crab again.
Unless they allow you to get rid of those freaking legs. -
Wow, six pages in and no mention of Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman and Sir Sean Connery in The Avengers?
There have only EVER been 2 movies I've considered walking out of, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and The Avengers. And I saw Battlefield Earth, Alien 3 &4 and Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes in theaters!

Coming in late to this but I just wanted to post my opinion.
Keyes to me is just plain boring. It's not difficult to do on a basic non-badge run, just far too lengthy and like I said, boring.
Granted, I've only ran it twice, but when I ran it the first time, there was virtually no instruction given. I just did what everyone else did and followed what instructions were given. Successful runs both times I've done it, but just not interesting enough to keep doing compared to the time it takes.
For me, it's not only a matter of fun, but one of time as well. I prefer the shorter trials since I can get one done in 15-20 minutes. Both of the Keyes runs took close to 45 minutes. I'm sure folks have gotten the time down considerably by now, but even if they have, it's still a bore-fest.
Now, I haven't had a chance to run the new underground trial, but by the sounds of it, it's FUN. It may be lengthy, but if the fun factor is there, I will try and make time for it.
Will 2 Emp merits make me run Keyes again? Sure, if only to see if the time it takes to do it will offset the lack of fun I have with the trial. If I can get a Keyes done in say 20 minutes, then I might just start running it again from time to time.
Of course, that's if anyone else wants to run it. Just because I might, doesn't mean others will. -

Looking at the pic, they actually have a Cleaving Blow IO slotted in there. So it looks to be an IO set error as well as a text error. -
My bet is that i21 goes live just after the Halloween even ends and before the winter event begins. There is usually at least a 2-3 week window between them and it would be almost perfect for them to get it up and going then.
Of course, the downside is that you start getting into the holiday season and the last thing the Devs would want is a buggy issue release that ruins peoples holidays, be it players or staff.
If it comes out before Halloween, great! If not, I won't be too upset. If it isn't out before the winter event though, don't count on seeing it until January after the winter event ends.
As for open beta of i21? I will say 2nd week of September. -
My guess would be they are running some new code or hardware configuration on test during these times to see how they may need to tweak the live servers for the incoming horde of new/returning players.
It turns out that's what the live stress tests were about, now it's time they take the info they gathered from that and applied it to the game to watch things blow up!
I mean, NOT blow up.
And if by some fluke it does go BOOM!, no one (aside from the tech team) gets hurt.

Numina: 30
Synapse: 30
Citadel: 25 + 1 = 26
Statesman: 13 - 1 = 12
Back Alley Brawler: 40
Manticore: 32
Positron: 33
Sister Psyche: 36
Don't know why exactly, but I like Citadel. The TF, not so much.

Yeah, gotta go with the others on this... 4-6 Threads is my average for any trial I've ever ran. I can't remember a single time I ever got more or less than that. I probably have but it's been so few times that I simply can't recall them.
Getting 15-20 Threads is just an insane number of lucky RNG rolls. I won't say it couldn't have happened because it can.
Welcome to the land of mere mortals, OP.
