Beam/Trap corr or Trap/Beam def?

I'm not asking for build advice really, just general opinions. I've been debating making one of these for concept reasons for a while but I just can't decide on which AT.

My only requirement is that it can solo well enough. Not going for some super awesome leet build that can solo +4/x8 spawns, just something that will be fun and useful to teams when I am able to team with it.

Basically, with the "new" Vigilance are Defenders really THAT much worse than a Corruptor damage wise while solo? With their better buff/debuff numbers I know that some Defenders can out damage Corruptors.

I know that Scourge adds up in the end, probably giving the damage edge to the Corr, but soloing I tend not to see a lot of Scourge since I'm fighting minions and Lts 99% of the time. Although, when I do see it, it is wonderful.

It'll also be hero only, won't be going redside at all so dipping into the Patron pools won't be happening even though Scorpion Shield would make the character "better". Maybe someday, but probably not until the character has hit 50.

Perhaps someday I will decide to go all out and make the character über, but for now I just want something I won't get frustrated with.

Beam/traps corr
You get scourge and only lose a little bit in terms of defense from the shield pet and -res from acid pet. Triage beacon is 150% base regen regardless of which at you get it for.

I'll post mine, nothing special here, nothing expensive or hard to come by. As you can see, scorpion shield is nice, hardly mandatory.

Bonus values for defender traps over corruptor traps:

4.5s immob duration and 12.5% slow on webnade
6.6% -res and -def on acid mortar
3.3% def on FFG
1.65% -tohit and 6.6% -dam (per seeker, so double those) on seekers
68.12 *LESS* damage on trip mine
97.32 *LESS* damage on (lol) time bomb

In my opinion, the only ones of those bonuses that are truly important are the def on FFG and the -res on acid mortar, and you have to weigh that against dropping trip mine to a massively reduced *65%* of its corruptor value. As for damage, defenders solo are exactly equal to corruptors before you factor in anything other than enhancements ( 0.65*(2.25) = 1.4625 = 0.75*1.95 ). Corruptors get scourge, defenders get slightly better numbers on some debuffs. For most sets it would definitely be tempting for me to go defender, but for traps I'd really strongly lean towards the corruptor. It's not very hard to cap defense on either one, and trip mine is really a *ton* better on corrs. I rather wish I had known about that particular difference before I made my traps/DP....

Defenders get superior buffs from pool powers too, don't forget.

It is possible to build a Incarnate Soft Capped TO EVERYTHING Defender who has Force of nature, while for most corruptors to hit the Smashing Lethal Energy basic softcap they must take Mace mastery.

Defender builds are safer and allow more interesting Epic picks like Soul Drain, Force of nature etc...

Corrs do more damage, but if you want max performance you have to take mace mastery.

That also includes much better resistances in the epic resistance shields. My def-softcapped-to-everything FF/Sonic has around 70% S/L resists with tough+epic shield (and a nice psi-resist thrown in, too), which is around the same value some tankers have. Even with only defender HP (and only one HP accolade, I think), without the solo damage bonus and versus the higher to-hit of incarnate enemies, that defender can solo glowies in Lambda rather safely...
