A game that I've been looking forwards to is out tomorrow, along with all the news of PAX from this game and others. So a little downtime is some reprieve!
I think downtimes for games exist purely to make people like me have some form of life away from the computer..

...done 4 loads of laundry

I just re-subbed (after about 3 years) and couldn't log in.
Now I've got to wait.. but it's for hardware so it's ok.

in the US a 6 hour maintenance still lasts till like 4 pm or if it was like the last 6 hour maintenance where they had to pull it down again for emergency maintenance, it can stay down till like 7 pm or so
sucks when we got a day off and game is down for all day maintenance lol, although i do appreciate the hardware upgrades

US timezones have been second nature for a while since I've followed US sport from about 1980. When following a crappy radio signal to get weak, weather-dependent reception it was good to know when I should be hoping to get the signal.
East coast (New York) is 5 hrs behind UK local time and west coast (california) is 8 - save for a slight discrepency around the change to/from summertime/daylight-savings .

Even worse: The English (former) EU servers are now down again. Just as I was gearing up to play, Defiant and Union went grey while I was switching character.

Also, all servers went down today for a new hardware update. Hardly surprising to find them down, is it?
