I would love to see more pre-50 trials.

I would add more but my head is now too happy that the forums let me log in again that i've forgotten the rest.

I think downtimes for games exist purely to make people like me have some form of life away from the computer..

I was given the name of your channel in my thread and now I can get back into the game I can join it. Just wondered first if there is any kind of protocol used for advertising your arc to the channel users? Or would, 'Hi, could someone please take a look at arc #515562 and tell me if it's any good or how it could be improved?' be ok?

Ok, after a bumpy start to the MA system and many deletes and restarts I decided to actually sit down today and hammer out a proper arc with a story

Fast forward three cups of tea, one can of energy drink, no sleep and many cigarettes I am finally finished. (I may also have gone a little crazy but that's not game related )

The I.D. is 515562 and is called Twisted Trials
I wont go into too much detail here about it's actual story just incase some people prefer to find that information out for themselves while reading the arc text.

If anyone on these forums could be kind enough to run it and give me some feedback and/or perhaps catch out any spelling errors I may have missed.

Also, is there a channel in-game that people use to discuss story arcs where i'd also be able to post my arc I.D. for feedback? I did see a few people on Virtue putting their arc number in broadcast but if there is a proper place for it then i'd much rather do it that way.

I was teamed with a friend last night and his costume had the cloak from the magic booster pack. I too have the magic booster pack but i'm a little peeved to find that my options as a female for the cloak are only 'plain' and 'arcane'. Why do male characters get the option of 'occult' and the female characters don't?

Told you I was having a thick day. After I wrote my post I rang my friend and being used to me he was able to explain it to me in words I understood. I now know what the clipboard is woohoo!

I'd like to take a look at Dacu's build in Mids but i'm having one almighty thick day. I've only just got mids and i'm at a loss as to where i'm supposed to paste that big block of text. I looked in the help option on Mids itself and it talks about a clipboard. What clipboard?

The builds with the data link I can deal with fine, I just click it and poof! there we go. But as I said, i'm a big bag of thick today and that block of text is making my brain go wonky.

Alignment: Hero although i'd be happy to turn Villain for the right people
RP/NoN RP: I have no experience with role play so i'd rather a non rp or light rp SG. That being said, i'd be more than happy to learn a little and give it a go

What I have to have: Vent/TS or some other kind of voice chat. In this regard, please don't say you have it if the only person with the information hasn't been seen in ages or tell me it's active when nobody uses it and even the cobwebs have cobwebs.

What you will get in return: If you're the SG for me then you will find that you have gained a loyal, witty and charming young lady with a liking for tea and who has been told she has a very nice accent (and maybe a little ego ).

For me, I cannot look at websites/visit forums while my game is running so being able to chat to actual people is preferable. In my personal opinion, if someone is going to put up their recruitment message in the chat then they should be prepared to answer questions.

A few times today when trying to enter a mission my game crashes as it's trying to load. It's not my usual heavy load server crash which only happens when I zone too much (i'm getting good at predicting how long I have left until I must relog).

I'm not too sure how to properly explain so that others who aren't me can understand my wonky explantions but it seems to be happening for certain maps.

I was on a team earlier and we were looking at each others missions and the game just flat out refused to let me enter one guy's mission. It would start loading a smidge then poof! crash. We then tried to enter mine after I changed the map (can't see what to right now as i'm out of the game) again poof! crash. Someone else on the team said that they had experienced something similar earlier when trying different maps. Some would load fine and others would just cause a crash.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I just crazy?

Oh excellent, i'll definitly start looking at what I want then. I'm not too worried about max level right now, more about being able to go with what I can afford.

The main reason I had to ask was because I had been doing some bronze ticket rolls and got Obliteration:Acc/Dam/Rech Recipe and found that if I could get the set i'd want to use it rather than sell it.

Could someone please tell me when is a good level to start looking at IO sets for Brutes. I've just hit 33 and my current SOs are now red so it's time for me to get news so before I do I just wanted to to know if it's too early for me to be looking at IO sets.

I did find two links in the Slotting basics guide but they don't seem to work anymore and when I search for slotting or sets myself i'm just getting other people's builds that look to be level 50.

I don't need to know what sets to use in where as the forum is teaming with builds and advice for that. I just need the when

No...wait..actually there was one more thing whilst i'm here. What is the rule of 5? (I think that is what it's called)

Well I chose ss/fire because i'd read that not only being a good farm combo, it was something good for beginners. She will be my cash cow for any alts I get and more importantly, my smashing girl for when I just want to feel downright powerful and smash things.

I don't mind being the tank on a team if none other is available and after finding myself in such a position last night, being at the centre of the cluster rather than at the edge trying to get in was fun!

Once I get into the game a bit more I can foresee myself having an army of alts with many many Brutes included just so I can try out more complex or challenging combos.

I do want to get a respec done on her though as my first build took handclap which I barely used and found I didn't like much and the other build while lots of fun needs a slot overhaul. That may take some time though because I just can't find a team for the level 24 respec and then after well over a hour of asking in Virtue LFG Beta someone kindly told me that not many people do it unless it's something I can't remember

The more I think about it the more I think it's just greed If there's a group of mobs and right in the centre is the boss I just have to have it!

How do Scrappers compare to Brutes? I know that if it's me vs a Tanker in a group then the Tanker would most likely be holding the aggro and taking the hits but me vs a Scrapper? surely it's me right?

*Edit* There was going to be a big rant about some Scrapper I teamed with but that's my annoyance not yours.

So I joined a team last night on my lowbie Brute (she's tons of fun) and I encountered what could be properly described as a large annoyance rather than a problem (maybe)

So full team of various ATs = big clusters of mobs.

Even running in right off the bat along side the tanker, once the fight got going it was really hard to move because everyone, mobs/people/pets were solid and i'd find myself boxed in by somebody's robots or demons.

I don't want to hang back because that isn't what my Brute is about, she likes to get in there and smash, heck, she needs to get in there and smash, but with the solid wall of bodies be they person, pet or enemy i'm having trouble getting into the range I need to smash.
I do try pressing F to put me in range then jumping but on occasion I run the risk of aggro'ing the next big group before time.

Are there any other player found tricks I might be able to try?

Is this something that will not be such a big deal as I get higher and hopefully missions in teams will be less chaotic?

Is there some super secret power that will let me push people friendly and hostile just slightly out of my way?

So after an initial overwhelmed stage I think i've mostly completed my arc. It's 4 missions long but i've tried to keep it fairly simple and I would love some feedback on how it runs from a non biased perspective (It could suck and i'd still love it)

It does still need a bit of fleshing out on some text areas but my wordy head isn't on right now so that'll have to wait.

I definitly intend to get mass confusion when it's available but I was debating whether or not to pick up the single one.

So far i'm set at +1 my level and have only just realised I can have myself getting mobs enough for more than one hero when solo

Right now though I get about 2-4 of yellow/orange/red. As i'm only level 10 the only mass power I have is hypno so it kinda goes:-

Mass Hypno
sleep mob 1 (usually the biggest)
hold mob 3/4 (the weakest)
Sleep mob 2
hold 3/4
Beat up the held while refreshing sleep as needed and whittle them down

I may not be the quickest but that's ok because i'm enjoying myself too much to care.

I might invest in the swords since I think I can get a respec at 24 so if I don't like them I can get rid then.


My Dom is on hold for now though while i've been trying a hero defender (I really wanted to try mission architech and my Dom is praetorian)

Once i've gotten to the right place and had a play around to figure things out I will definitly post my arc for you all to play and give feedback on. I mean, I don't expect it to win any awards but hopefully when my insomnia kicks in and the creative juices are flowing i'll produce something that will be mildly entertaining.

The only pre-warning I can think to give though is when i'm zoned out in my head being creative and what-not, I both type and talk 'funny' so it's highly likely that it wont make sense to anyone not as odd as me

I kind went a little backwards in creating my Dom lol must have been that stunning character creation fuzzling my head. I made her a Praetorian because i'd like to have her as a hero one day and I chose Mind/Ice. It was only after her creation that I realised I should probably come here and look for a guide on how to make the most of her.

I couldn't find a Mind/Ice guide in the sticky nor can I find any relevent threads (I'll be the first to admit, my searching power sucks).

Mind - I love this. I did try out a couple of the other primaries but kept coming back to mind. Just got Mass Hypno and I can see how when it's got some more power behind it, it will be as good as people say.

Ice - I don't know why I like this but I do. I was thinking of skipping the two early sword powers because i'm not sure I want to get in melee range. Maybe once i'm big enough to have the AoE hold and Mass Confuse i'll revisit this choice.

Travel - So far I only have hover (I really want to fly ) I know eventually i'll need to get Hasten for the recharge.

I do spend alot of my time playing solo but i'm not too opposed to team play. Perhaps when/If I find a good Supergroup(?). PvP may be something I look at later but for now i'm happy to leave it alone.

Could anyone give me some advice on how to proceed and with slotting. Also as i'm still very new, I don't have much in the way of funding so expensive enhancements are off the table for now.

I don't need an endgame build or any serious hand holding as I do like to figure some stuff out, just wanting to not totally screw myself over by picking something that I wont enjoy or use much.
