You could put a -KB IO in FFG or Maneuvers for relatively cheap.

A matter of taste but hasten+SS is great on /traps.
  2. Anecdote for y'all:

Last night my bots/traps got bugged for some reason, I couldn't control my pets, couldn't dismiss them even.

I'd just joined a Deathsurge team and they didn't want to wait for me to relog, so we figured I could just LEEEEEEROY JENKINS into the GM, someone could tp my corpse clear and rez it which would hopefully allow me to resummon sensible pets.

So I jump in, slap down a poison trap and acid mortar on Deathsurge's toes... and don't die. After 15 seconds or so the rest of the team gets bored and joins in. I help as much as possible with my /traps powers, even though my dps is severely gimped without my bots. We make short work of sparky, and I get my badge.

I'm told it was the Worst. Leeeeroy. EVAR.

moral - I'm unlikely to attempt a petless MM, but it would be /traps all the way if I did.

I've seen lots of posts saying the proc only works on the top tier pet. The other day someone said that was a bug and has been fixed, I'm not certain either way.

People say great things about slotting it in Assault Bot, apparently it has a chance to proc for every critter in a burn patch. One guy said he's seen his Assbot double and even triple-stack the build-up proc.

I'm looking forward to bots/traps hitting 50 so I can see for myself...
  4. My marketeer toon stockpiled some Soulbound Allegiance sets in anticipation of a big rush of new Demon Summoner demand.

A couple of my own MMs are approaching 50 and I'll definitely slot at least the build-up procs myself, but the set bonuses just don't impress me.

The 2-slot bonus of 16% regen seems the nicest.

I'm considering slotting 2 SAs in each of the 3 pets, for 48% regen. A brute would love to spend 6 slots for 48% regen, but does it make sense for the low base HP of a MM?

One of those MMs is /traps, so piling this on top of triage beacon might make sense for boss fights.

    Thoughts?
  5. Don't discount /traps as an AV killer.

Poison gas trap = what happened to my regen ?!?!?
  6. Bots/traps is definitely an AFK build. Some brute builds are probably tougher, the difference being that when you come back to the keyboard the MM's bots will have cleared the room.

Slot some defence in the protector bots, it helps their bubbles.

A little Endurance Reduction in protector bots keeps them from running out of blue bars in long fights. You don't appreciate how nice those heals/bubbles are until they stop throwing 'em.

Search the forum for "bodyguard mode" to make yourself even more AFK compliant.
  7. Lots pf people like the electric fences power which negates KB but has a fairly small radius.

I use the Black Scorpion web-nade power, which covers a decent area but your bots will sometimes KB critters out of your burn patches.

I find the web-nade keeps most critters in the burn patches "long enough", but opinions vary.

If you have one already, I'm told it makes assbot even more awesome. As /FF you don't have tar pit/melt armor/whatever to help DPS so I'd go for it.

I've got a 50 bots/ff without stamina, and while running the leadership toggles the toon is only borderline viable. I've got a few wee +end and +recov bonuses, but I kinda lean on popping blues. That works when I'm killing stuff quickly and the insps are dropping like candy...

Most of my deaths go like this - I get in trouble and am spamming force bolt/web cocoon as mitigation, spamming heal other, then I run out of blue insps and detoggle. Now I'm in trouble without my big bubble, and usually get splattered.

I'd respec, but I'm having a ton of fun with my mid-30s bots/traps so I never seem to get around to it
  9. very quick glance:

Group fly is -ACC to everyone, including your human team mates...

The Soulbound proc is almost designed for assbot, i.e. every mob in a burn patch gives a chance to proc.

The Numina's proc in heal other will only have a chance to proc when you actually cast heal other, i.e. not worth it. That proc is best used in a passive power, i.e. fitness pool.
  10. quick comment from a non-expert: do you need electric fences? My mid-30-ish bots/traps finds that seekers drones+PGT+caltrops keeps everything in the burn patches for "long enough".

Also, people say the soulbound allegiance build-up proc + assault bots = orgasmic mayhem, it gets a chance to proc with every guy caught in your burn patches.
  11. I made my own in frustration.

I'm not at that computer right now, I could upload it later if anyone is interested.

What's a good spot to host something like that?

Would people prefer a PDF or the OpenOffice document?

While there may be a shortage on some things, I think that this will just trim some of the fat and bloat off once the market is back.

Then perhaps we can see a shortage and a rebound for profits.
    I'm guessing you play blueside

Redside, during the 3 weeks after double XP weekend, I sold a dozen 10-stacks of fortunes for $1 million each. The rubies and something else were lucrative too, but the fortune prices were nuts,.

And for a little while there even kinetic weapons were selling for a couple thousand or so .
  13. Supply cut off, demand growing by the hour...

If any lowbie wants a niche, stock up on AE tickets to roll into common salvage once the market comes back - it will probably take a couple of weeks for the price of common salvage to drop back out of the stratosphere.

I'm told that Soulbound doesn't proc in anything but the top pet, in this case demon prince.

explanation - it's a lvl 50 IO, and you summon demon prince at your lvl, demons at your lvl-1, demonlings at your lvl-2.

Haven't personally tried it in anything but the top notch pet.

You can never have enough caltrops, or web-nade. It's nice to use acid mortar etc every spawn or 2 instead of every 2 or 3.

    Tar patch. /drools/

I found the opposite... I set everyone to attack 1 target, then run into the middle of the fight and spam heals.

6-slot it as soon as you can, and frankenslot with cheap low level stuff for acc and recharge, then for heal.

I've got a lowbie /kin and I'm really missing the self-centered AOE heal.

/dark gets strong fairly early - once you get Fearsome Stare you're an unstoppable freight train. Hint - frankenlsot for range.
  18. I spent the last couple of evenings beating down 333 Cape Consortium Guards, and it seemed such a waste of time doing it just for 1 badge on 1 toon.

Group fly wouldnt allow them to move very far in theory. Just curious mainly because of PvP, I havent tried other than one duel yet but is this an issue
disclaimer - am clueless about PVP.

In PVE zombies jump and try to land melee attack, which actually sort of works on most of the relatively cramped mish maps.

The Dark Knight and Lich have some ranged attacks anyway.

Your secondary might have a way to assist, i.e. I've got a lot of recharge in traps' web grenade or FF's knockback power, so I can keep a couple critters on their butts at once if necessary.

I also have a 1-man VG, and it's definitely hard to raise prestige solo. It does seem that lower level toons get more prestige, but I've never done the math because it's so paltry either way.

Since you're lvl 35, head to the RWZ and find a rikti ship raid. It's like a prestige farm.

Are you doing this redside or blueside?

I'm curious, did you track how many salvage you've created and how much inf you've earned?

I should bookmark this thread as an example of how difficult it is to manipulate the market and fix prices.

The redside market has settled down a bit, I'm no longer moving multiple 10-stacks of $1 million fortunes.

I fear a lot of your inventory is enriching flippers, but it would be a lot of work to monitor every common salvage.

As for your reception here, I think most people here consider profiteering salvage as chump change, and wouldn't admit to it even it they did it.

Also most people here seem interested in understanding the dynamics of the market for it's own sake, not just as a way to profit.

And finally, crazy salvage prices have eroded some niches that used to be low-but-steady profit, I for one will be glad to see the madness end.
