Can mastermind pets like zombies and other melees deal with fliers in any way?
Group fly wouldnt allow them to move very far in theory. Just curious mainly because of PvP, I havent tried other than one duel yet but is this an issue

disclaimer - am clueless about PVP.

In PVE zombies jump and try to land melee attack, which actually sort of works on most of the relatively cramped mish maps.

The Dark Knight and Lich have some ranged attacks anyway.

Your secondary might have a way to assist, i.e. I've got a lot of recharge in traps' web grenade or FF's knockback power, so I can keep a couple critters on their butts at once if necessary.

With dark get tp foe so you can drop em in your tarpatch which is -fly.

Every pet has ranged attacks. Even the melee ones. So yes, they can deal with fliers.

While they all have ranged attacks, not all of the ranges are far enough for PvP.

Also, you don't want to use group fly because of the enormous -accuracy penalty it gives you.

I find that most times, if the other player can attack me, my henchmen can hit them. That, and I'll be debuffing the crud out of them with /poison anyway.

I second this strategy.

With their superleap and AI pathing, mastermind pets are fairly effective at pursueing flying enemies up until the enemy flies beyond superleap-height and ranged attack range.
(In some cases, beyond superleap-height and ranged attack range AND building height.)

Web grenades are fairly easy to acquire, so it can't hurt to get them anyway.

Never having played a MM before... Group Fly does allow your pets to fly?

But again, you don't want to do it because of the -25% (if I recall correctly) accuracy penalty.

I went dark/dark/dark/goose (kidding on the last part) and my solution to flyers was to just take AirSup in the flight travel pool.

Knock 'em out of the air into tar pit and your friends, and it's all good after that.
