Quote:I'd just break down your astrals for extra threads and make your commons/uncommons from those.Yup, but I'm not really in a hurry to be honest and do have enough influence to do some "rare to very rare" conversions if I need to. I did break down one very rare for some threads to get a tier 2 crafted but I think that's about it for now. I guess I need to participate "less" so I get some commons/uncommons.

Quote:Actually, I don't have an "amazingly epic build", I built him on drops and about 10-15 mil (with a few IOs, the pet set uniques, gifted from my far more marketeering friends). No huge defense bonuses, just moderate recharge, with Hasten nowhere near perma (just have it to counteract recharge debuffs, pretty much). For powers, I skipped all personal attacks from my primary, took leadership, CJ, Super Jump, and Hasten, and only took 3 SHARK powers. I simply use tactic, and a good set of binds to adjust my pets on the fly. Now, listen, okay, sure, maybe YOU can have this amazingly epic build with your Ninja build, and completely wipe the floor with anything you come across and have a fun time, but not all of us have the capacity to be quite as good as that. Sure, maybe that IS on us, but, consider for a moment:
Quote:I agree, MM's as a whole might not need a buff, but if Bots/FF or, as you said, Bots/Traps are so OP, then, yes, please, nerf them. But make my Mercs MM, my favorite, first-ever made MM, capable of soloing just as good as other builds, because right now I have trouble soloing anything past +0 x5 because everything is suddenly so resistant to Lethal damage.
Quote:The Mastermind AV is not an easy class to play, unless you chose the obvious Bots/FF/Traps or Thugs/Traps as people like to claim, and then you're golden. But I've yet to run into any specific archtype with such a massively underpowered setup like my Mercs/Pain has, the damage output is horrible and the heals just arn't enough to keep up with the damage my mercs receive. -
Quote:Here's a little secret. You know that Tactics power that practically every MM takes? It protects against confusion. So if you take that, the BAF escapees won't confuse your pets!Yeah lets dont buff masterminds because their pets cant be killed by mobs with no attacks.
Also, Ninja aren't as worthless on BAF as people keep saying. My Ninja/TA had to replace a total of 2 genin on 3 straight BAF runs. -
-
As a data point, I did 3 on my Ninja/TA the other night and got 2 uncommons, and 1 rare table. However, I use Blinding Arrow, Poison Gas Arrow, Acid Arrow, and School of Sharks a lot, especially on BAF. Unfortunately, unless they fix pet and pseudopet participation, I'll probably not get a VR, due to most of TA's best AoE stuff (Resonance, Oil Slick, and Glue) being pseudopets.

That would be because casuals don't care about tier 4 incarnate slots. Casual players are those who play a little bit to have some fun, likely don't use Mids', are often just fine with common IOs or even SOs, might occasionally use a Hami-O because they have a few from when they decided to "give a Hami a shot", and might not even go past T1 on their incarnate powers because that's all they really want. If they even touch it. Some casuals are such altoholics they don't even have a 50, and were quite grateful when the EAT unlock was dropped to 20, because it gave them more fun to play with.

Quote:A) Regional servers will be no more after summer, really. I'll be able to hop on Union as an NA subscriber whenever I want.It really is, IMO, unacceptable. When you run a game that has servers specifically for a different timezone, they you need to adjust your maintenance schedule for that servers to take that timezone into account. If you're not willing to do that, there is NO point in regional servers.
Maintenance windows was one of the primary reasons for the EU servers in the first place...
B) Anything involving a clientside patch (like this one did) must be done at the same time so that you don't have version mismatches on, say, Union because you patched up for Freedom. -
Quote:Ah, the Vashta Nerada. Also, you need to add the Empty Child to that list. (2 word reminder: gas mask.)They look awesome but I strongly disagree that they will turn out to be the scariest things ever seen in Dr. Who. In my opinion the scariest creature slot is tied between the Weeping Angels and those Shadow things the Doctor encountered on that library planet.

Quote:If you are level 50, you have no excuse not to know how to use the Power menu. Especially if you have a respec build, or are IOed out.Because they're dumb. To expand: they don't actually know how to do it. The Trial makes a significant assumption that you know how to go into your powers "menu" and pull out temp powers to drop into a tray or onto someone else. And that is too much for a lot of people. Sad, but true.
Half the Lambda raids I have been on have had this happen. We get 10 for 10 on the Acid Grenades, and only seven get used. -
I was on Quantum Ted for that one, and yeah, that was a bit of a cluster, but salvaging those is almost more fun than running them completely flawlessly.

Quote:Well, for doms, we'd have to have a new Dark Assault set, which would be an amalgam of Dark Melee and Dark Blast. And throwing in a Dark Control and Dark Manipulation set would be awesome too. Hopefully, Soul Drain ends up in the manip .I'm a firm believer that every AT should have access to every power source and blasters, trollers and dominators are currently the only ones that can't get dark powers.
Ideas for Dark Assault:
T1) Dark Blast
T2) Smite
T3) Death Shroud (for a bit of a twist)
T4) Gloom
T5) <some utility other than Dark Consumption or Soul Drain, as they can get both in Soul Mastery. But not yet another Power Boost. Please.>
T6) Night Fall
T7) Siphon Life
T8) Moon Beam
T9) Toned down version of Blackstar (think Psi Assault's Psychic Shockwave)
Dark Manipulation:
T1) Redone version of Warshades' ST immob, Gravimetric Snare
T2) Shadow Punch
T3) Smite
T4) Petrifying Gaze
T5) Dark Consumption
T6) Soul Drain
T7) Siphon Life
T8) Midnight Grasp
T9) Soul Transfer -

Just so you know, this right here is called an oxymoron, because it's made of two parts that are opposites. And we don't really have enough data to work with, while anecdotal figures from the forums will be skewed because those who are upset are those who are tracking and talking, while those who are doing fine aren't saying much.

Quote:She never turned in her halloween salvage, so she doesn't have 4 (plus the first for her non-heroing clothes). :PArticle
So, the 2 costumes we've already seen (shiny pants and non-shiny pants) are BOTH going to be in the show, as well as a not-yet-seen third costume that will be the more iconic look, with the short shorts.
At first I thought, "Why does she need three costumes?" -
Quote:No, I'm simply going on the information they gave out when they changed the maintenance last time. Which was that they took the least populated server time. Your dead time is, quite frankly, peak time for their largest playerbase (that being US players).Wow. Point missed or Trolling practise?
Amazed you came into an oceanic forum section to do so. Are you an aussie, or do you just like to go around righting perceived wrongs on forums?
Also interested in how you have the figures of the playerbase activity times :/ You're just claiming information out your rear end aint ya? -
Quote:This is the least disruptive time. It will always be someone's 8:30 PM, and quite frankly, the largest playerbase is least active at 7:30 AM EDT/4:30 AM PDT (which is incredibly early already, since normal shifts in the states start at 9 AM)I hate daylight saving change over ):
So whining to those that hopefully understand.
Game going for maintenance at 8:30 pm local time sucks. 10:30 was much better.
Kinda dreading that it will be every Tuesday to change the notice of well over in addition to thursday ):
I'm hoping they look at times again when EU servers merge. And pick a less disruptive time.

Quote:It was mostly the mass murder that helped a lot.Hmmm, I'm really not familiar with the various defenders. Well, Liquefy looks like a big -ToHit, but it's on a big recharge, so certainly wasn't permanent. You get a bunch of resistance, but I wouldn't think it would make enough difference. I'm sure the heals added up, but in my mind wouldn't make up for being at 10% defense if you really weren't getting fortitude buffs. I guess I'm pretty impressed.
-
Actually, it was almost all blasters, a sonic defender, and an empath who (in a move that makes great sense) hit the blasters with fort rather than me. So the only buffs on me were sonic shields, occasionally inside the big bubble, and RAs. There may have been 2 leaderships, but even then, the two maneuvers would only up me to 10%-ish. Which was quickly negated by a single Roman.

Quote:I died a few times when I jumped the gun. In other words, player error (my own) killed me, not lack of defense. You can get yourself killed exactly the same with defense builds, so no, I did not prove your point. Nice try.The soloing part is not a requirement, it was a statement to the fact that you most likely had massive assistance in the way of +DEF buffs or -To Hit debuffs from your allies.
And here is what I, originally, said:
And then you stated how you didn't build for defense, and consequently died a few times even with 7 people who were most likely buffers/debuffers on your team.
In which case, you actually proved my point. -
Quote:Dude, the build I have is from before GR. I know my build sucks, and I'm working on a rebuild for recharge/def instead. I just have like zero time to do so because I'm at school where it's a pain to actually get on CoH to make inf to buy the new sets I need.OK, I understand that you were specifically replying to "I dare you to take a... regen based scrapper - build for zero defense... and then take it on the ITF". So what you said was definitely relevant. You basically did that, and had, well, some problems, but apparently nothing worse than what you're used to.
But to be blunt, your build's survivability sucks. Fortunately you're either an AMAZING player, or you had a big supply of purple inspirations (i.e., defense) or your team made up for your shortfall. But none of that means that your BUILD has any survivability, or disproves how important defense is to improving survivability. You'd probably do MUCH better with a decent build.
And re: Deus_Otiosus, you only said "take on an ITF". You never said jack-**** about soloing it, so quit moving the goalposts. -
It really wouldn't. 70%-ish of illusion's damage comes from pets, which don't have containment.

Quote:Considering that my girlfriend and I have duoed AVs on Emp/Psi and Emp/Dark, it's not a huge issue. Though if we did it over, I'd probably go with Emp/Sonic for mine, as it goes with any other Emp/*The only thing I can see Emp/Sonic defenders having a slight problem with is the lack of -Regen for AV's and such. I know, envenomed daggers are cheap, but some people might not want to go to a temp power for that. Other than that? Well, I've seen stacked Sonic Blasts before and it is a very, very pretty thing. Add to that capped regen, capped Defense, enormous recharge, infinite end recovery... nothing's going to kill you* so it's just a matter of WHEN you win.
* OK, there might be some AV's that can get lucky and 1-shot one of you. -
Having seen the proc in action post-I20, it's not the proc. If your pets are getting confused on the BAF, then it's the mobs with a confuse aura.
