New Wonder Woman to have 3 costumes
Quote:
Well Lynda Carter WW also had the swimsuit costume, and technically wearing that star spangled cape made it a third costume and there was that season 1 ep that Roy Rogers was in where she wore more normal attire, apparently as they didn't want her wearing the WW costume around all the little kids that were in that episode. Four costumes.

So, the 2 costumes we've already seen (shiny pants and non-shiny pants) are BOTH going to be in the show, as well as a not-yet-seen third costume that will be the more iconic look, with the short shorts. At first I thought, "Why does she need three costumes?" Then I thought of my wife, and all her clothes taking up 3/4 of our closet (I'm grudgingly allowed the remaining 1/4). And her clothes in the hall closet. And those in the other hall closet. And the ones taking up most of the room in the closet in my son's room. And the ones in the two cedar chests. And the clothes in the armoires (stand-alone closets). Oh, and her clothes in the dressers in our bedroom. So yeah, we're lucky there are only three costumes! |
Hmm if she was going to have 3 costumes I'd hope they'd be the Greek-esque Themiscyrian robes, the iconic look, and an armored up uniform like what Alex Ross did for Kingdom Come, but they'd probably butcher that last one.

It will most likely be some sort of trial and error bit, where she goes out in different combinations trying them out until she finds one she likes.
Superheroes always tweak their look until they settle on something.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Tell her I still have some of the Halloween stuff if she wants to unlock another costume.

She never turned in her halloween salvage, so she doesn't have 4 (plus the first for her non-heroing clothes). :P

Was this technically news that she was going to have more than one costume? I thought I read an article a few months go when they first started talking about this new show where they mentioned her still having the classic "shorts" version of her costume and that she'd wear it at some point.

Besides as has been mentioned even the Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman had several costumes. Lynda's basic costume even changed significantly enough between the ABC show and the CBS show that you could almost call that yet another costume.
I guess it never occurred to me that this new Wonder Woman would NOT have more than one costume style.

1. ABC costume which was close to the golden age costume in design appearance.
2. Silver age costume that she used starting with the CBS version.
3. Costume with star spangled cape
4. "generic costume" in the Roy Rogers episode due to alleged concerns about wearing the WW costume with all those kids around.
5. Undersea costume

The fact that most characters in this game (except VEATs) are currently allowed to have FIVE costumes suddenly makes that much more sense doesn't it?

Unless I dreamed it, one time villains are getting away, so she spins, and changes costume to have helmet, and knee / elbow pads, and skateboards after the fleeing car.
I'd have to go through my old Wonder Woman DVDs to find it though.
Dang good dream if I just made up that memory though.

and if you want to get picky her swimming outfit doubled as her "motorcycle" outfit too:

Totally forgot those. On other hand why would someone with the strength and speed of the gods need to use a skate board or motorcycle?

Things like skateboarding and motocross-style motorcycling were "trendy" things back in the 1970s so I guess on some level it kind of made sense for them to have Wonder Woman do them to get teenager types interested in the show.

I'm betting they'll have this new Wonder Woman do "trendy" things too and I'm quite sure people will use that as a point to criticize it not realizing that Lynda Carter already blazed that trail of cheesiness...

Ah... I don't usually overly analyze still photos of women in action for their degree of "bounce-ability" but I guess I could see how that might be interesting to some people.

The funny thing is, Lynda Carter has huge...tracts of land. There was really no reason to have any kind of gimmick to get teenage boys interested in the show. Trust me, I was a teenage boy when the show was on the air, and I didn't watch because WW rode a skateboard or a motorcycle.
