I have not done a Hami since the old days before they revamped it - where do you go these days to join one?

Quote:I did not know this. Thanks, Sam!On a more related note, this is not a "detoggle" bug, it is a "loss of state" bug. Not only will your toggles shut down, any clicks you had recharging will be ready to use, even if you had another 900 seconds on your Overload still remaining.
As best as I can tell, this is because the character's current "state," which is to say buffs active, toggles running, power recharge states, active pets and so forth gets lost. When you zone into an instance, you don't move from the zone to the map. Your character is actually destroyed and a brand new character is spawned in the instance, with all of your old states applied to this new character. That's why you hear all of your toggles restart when you zone in or out - because they do. Your character zones in with NOTHING, then the game reads what was supposed to be running and THEN the game reapplies your toggles, buffs, debuffs, continuing DoT effects, resummons your henchmen and pets and so on. Ever notice how your passives and buffs rearrange when you zone? That's because they get reapplied all over again.
Something happening to the server that's causing it to lose that information in transit, so you spawn in the new map as though you'd just logged in for the first time in a week. -
Quote:I will commiserate with you, Dump.Started up City of Heroes last night.
Logged in.
Chat scroll had SIX SPAMS from TWO DIFFERENT RMT mules INSTANTLY.
One of them was a new company I'd never heard of.
Did the usual tagging of "Ignore Spammer" on each then commented in Local (since it was obvious that they were still laying the spam on thick) "(Die in a fire, RMT scum!)"
Now as an actual burn survivor with some large and interesting scars (stupid itch) I'm generally not one to use such a colorful phrase. But hey, OCR and the GMs aren't doing anything about this anymore. I felt entitled to a local grouse. After all, you can't play the game without seeing them anymore.
Imagine my, well...shock, when about a dozen plus people laid into me DEFENDING the RMT people. I was told that I was worse than they were, repeatedly, for (translating from the ae monkey-farming speak) "criticizing new players."
Now I don't know if they meant "new players who violate the EULA by buying inf." or "new players the RMT spammers had no vet rewards," but it would seem that the pro-RMT camp is pretty big and the anti-RMT is the minority. Maybe the pro-RMT camp is the same as the monkey farming camp, but I'm sick and tired of my personal game time being compromised by people flagrantly violating the EULA.
And for those who will soon ask, "Why bother posting this here," it's because I'm looking for commiseration. I know nothing will happen.

I feel your pain. I once accidentally bought 4 luck charms for 120 million apiece before I could cancel the bid.
I think that's a great idea, but you are right, it will probably never happen. -
Top drawer, sir. Top drawer.

Quote:Welcome to my world, Sam.The thing I've found myself yelling at my screen the most recently has been along the lines of "Stop ****** missing!!!" and "Hit! Hit! Hit! Hit or you're dead!" For some reason, the game is adamant about giving me 96 and 97 to-hit rolls. Only not when I actually have proof of it. The moment I fired up HeroStats, I suddenly stopped missing altogether. Then when I turned it off, within a day I was back to seemingly intentionally missing my biggest attacks and forcing streakbreaker after streakbreaker.

Welcome to the game and the boards! I don't play on Justice very much, but if you ever make your way over to Virtue (blueside) or Pinnacle (redside), feel free to look me up at @ZephyrWind.

Discovered this a while ago. Went back and read the whole archives and then proceeded to make a number of tribute characters

Quote:Take the boss out first. The minion is just going to sit there and whiff, but the boss can hit you.Ok...I do a tip mission and engage a +1 slag golem boss and a minion. I hit rage and dispatch the minion first. Then I start in on the boss. And it is just hit after hit after hit on me like I have no defense at all. Ironically...his AoE attack missed. But every melee just landed before I could even get him down to 1/3 of his health.

Interesting to me... there are less words for hate ^.^
I know...now you hate hate me. -
This happened to me too. It seems to be related to the fact that the online store is unavailable. One it became available again last night my slot showed back up.

You look very nice, Kinetic Melee.
Oh, wait...com-PLE-ment. Nevermind. -
I've been making my way through the 1000+ pages of Champions 6th off and on for a couple of months now. They changed a lot of stuff from 5th, most of which makes it more complicated rather than less. Not sure if I'll be using it or sticking with 5th.

Pfft. I've worked in software development for over 20 years and have yet to work for a company that was "doing it right". The one time we actively tried upper management squashed us, and we gave up and found better jobs.
I'd say the success of their title makes them closer to "doing it right" than many, many other companies out there. -
At least, to me.
I've heard about this happening to other folks, but had not experienced it myself. I was building some low-level ACC IOs for my SG and bid on a stack of Luck Charms at 30,000 apiece.
I went to get the Boresights and the UI randomly decided to cache my last bid, so I wound up bidding 30,000,265 for a stack of 10 boresights.
I managed to cancel after only 3 had been bought, but...damn, devs, fix the freaking WW UI, please.
Hope whoever got 30 million for a Boresight needed it -
I had heard that Jack dislikes controllers in general and mind controllers in particular as they are "villainous".
This is totally unsubstantiated, of course, but it's an article of faith on the controller boards -
Just FYI, this apparently resets the number of Lost you have already cured. I logged on and had 43 charges left, but I did not finish the mish when I had 30 charges left, I got it when I was at 23.
I don't remember it re-setting in between sessions, but I could be wrong. -
I would like to be able to see the XP bar so I can grab someone who is close to level when I only have a little bit of time to play.

Quote:It took you 50 levels to figure out you didn't like a powerset?I agree that it's too much to ask for to change the entire AT, but I think that it would be nice to be able to select different powersets. I got my first toon ever, a ss/inv brute, to 50 and found that I didn't really like Inv. It would have been great to have been able to change him over to ss/wp instead of making and leveling a whole new toon.

Quote:I would think there would have to be archival copies of any release that made its way to the live servers, just to satisfy due dilligence.Another problem:
It is far more likely that anything farther back than issue 6 or so was deleted a long time ago to clear up more storage space for new stuff.
Not that I'm arguing for this...I just think they would have to have copies of their code. Everywhere I've ever worked we did this (or if we didn't I started it).
