Remember those Points cards we wanted?
NCSoft is a real piece of work let me tell you. A F****** piece of work.
Well that's a nice punch in the gut.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
It's official: We now have proof that NCsoft did not give a f*** about us. And they refuse to sell us to someone that might.
I doubt developing points cards for CoX would have been financially viable after the freedom transition. This is the sort of thing that's much easier to set up on the wave of a big launch, rather than several years after box copies of the game disappear from store shelves.
Just going to avoid expressing myself on this as I don't want the word filter to blow up...

That stuff Hyperstrike was going to say? Yeah, that goes for me, too.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Hey NCsoft go F@#$ yourself!

No points cards?!?!?! NERDRAGE
Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.
GW2 doesn't give out a monthly stipend of points. This makes it much easier for them. In our case more would have had to been done. At the very least our point cards couldn't be purchasable with points.
Interesting. It's not a card that requires activation at the register like so many proxy currency cards for MMOs out there but looks to be like the old time card coming in full size DVD box.
Well the holidays are coming up and I can see why ArenaNet would want this out there since the game would be out for nearly four months and at the likely price of $25 would be a reasonable stocking stuffer. Now if they are still being restocked 3 months after the holidays then I'll get angry, otherwise it's just like what happened with NCSoft time cards just being around for the holidays in stores.

Agreed...
And even better would have been Time Cards being widely available in EU stores. Haven't seen one for *years* |
And the ones that did have them had them in a locked display case with Wii controllers and Nintendo DS units, unlike WoW time cards that were in those lock plastic boxes but at least they were on the shelves where the PC games were located.

They weren't widely available in US stores either. Last I saw some were two or three years ago during the holidays and only at one of the two Best Buys near me, they other couldn't find them even though their inventory system said they had them in stock.

I do know that the EU office had some, because at the Omega Sektor 2008 EU event, the winners of Taskforce Omega (start at level 1, do all the Heroside signature TF's before the event ended) ended up with a years worth of GTC's *each* (amongst other stuff).
Any left after that? Dunno... but i wouldn't be surprised if they were thin in the ground with the company themselves.
Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper
Tribal Arc Shield/Elec/Mu/Spiritual Tanker
They should have kept CoH and its Devs around just for all the good ideas we collectively have given them that can be used in their other titles.
Really they don't have anything in the store worth buying yet. CoH had a much better system.
Although I like being able to convert gold into points.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

When the CoH Freedom market went live, many of us started to ask for ways to buy points for other people. One common suggestion was "Paragon Points Cards", which could be sold in stores. We could buy them for ourselves, or pass the code on to someone else for them to get the points.
We never got them, naturally. NC Soft couldn't be bothered.
Well, GW2 just got them. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/g...ect-retailers/
I'm glad for ArenaNet and the GW2 players (I'm one of them), but I can't help but feel bitter about this.
