Suppose an emulator shows up, How many of you would go on?
Maybe. Maybe not.

Slight theadjack to ask a variant question.
How many would be willing to run an emulator given the opportunity? (This questions assumes no significant technical or legal hurdles exist.)
It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up.

Edit: Ya know... the more I ponder it, I have no idea how much data we pull from the CoH servers while we play. I've never checked.
Be well, people of CoH.

I would, in a heartbeat.
I've been following one emulator project since the announcement was made. While their progress has not been impressive over the past few years, it is safe to assume that they will more than likely speed up (even slightly) when the game shuts down on Nov. 30.
Then of course, there is what the boys over at Titan have been working on in their spare time. Though, they seem to be keeping the progress of their endeavors behind closed doors.
In any case, I would jump on board and play an emulator. I am already playing SWGEmu (my first love), so if I ever got bored of that, I would jump on the CoX emulator.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Those of us that have actually played on private servers have had some good experiences with them. The hypothetical guy that would go through the effort of getting one up and running isn't going to be content with a sloppy piece of crap. And this fear of ubiquitous hacks is even more farcical.
Oh, stop it.

I'd be in forever...esp if the character creator was good.
Risha (aka Robin D. Owens, fantasy author).
some people had some bad experiences with those types of servers. I doubt all of them are hack central ad doubt all of them are hack free.

Why would that be an issue for you, anyways? I thought per your earlier post that you were going to hang back and "enjoy watching it burn" or words to that effect.
Stay classy, y'hear?
So, stay off the CoX emulator. Its not like someone is holding a gun to your head, forcing you to log on.

Third who ever said it was an issue for me? I just simply stated that some people, as they stated, did not have good experience with emulators.
Anyways, if ya looking to start trouble, for no reason, I'm not going for it today. nice try though. Have a good day. But when you do try to start trouble at least get the facts straight like the burn comment came afterwards. And try to not make it so obvious next time. Well enough entertaining you, but thought I at least set the facts straight first. The least I could could, you know, staying classy.

well too bad you didnt notice that this post came first. Secondly if it's an illegal one, yeah I'll happily watch it burn.

Talk like you have been talking around here and expect the fallout, you have been doing nothing but posting negative stuff since all this started. In fact you have been all but reveling in CoX's downfall and been all "WHOOO NCSoft, I loves me some NCSoft and what they're doing!" As I said in the other thread, I hope Titan Network discovers your identity there and bans your access.
You certainly seem to have an issue with it, if you're just sitting around waiting to be able to "watch it burn."

Gah, I said I wasnt going to bother with you. Damn it, boloed again!

Probably not, especially if a single "official" server pops up.
The rules might be different. They could be contaminated with ideology, cronyism, bias, server-end adjustments to mechanics that serve bias, and other unprofessional administrative conduct. (this can be worse if the servers are not open-sourced)
I have been witness to the quality of emu servers that are popular, and it almost always ends in a political crisis and abuse of power. *cough*pso*cough*
I know a majority of people will leap to an emu server as soon as it appears, but I will keep Nov 30th the last day, after which I will move on. You can "resurrect" it for yourselves if it makes you happy.
Not a big fan of MMO emulators.
I would probably check it out just because it is CoX (The MMO that took my MMO Virginity).
I would be more interested in a City of Heroes 2
