Oldest forum post you can find?

For me it's this one, from a long discussion about Statesman's style of tanking. I know there were earlier ones, since my forum account dates to almost a year before this, but this is the oldest I can find.

Had to search. This is within months of my start date, and given the number of forum purges, probably fairly close to a first post.

God, I laughed so hard. It was the first thread ever I replied to.

Case in point...I seem to have found the OP's son to argue with. Well....let him argue with me, as I'm done validating his existence.

Mine is me talking about how I apply Fortitude with my emp. Not the best oldest post - I was expecting a rant of some sort.

My second oldest post is a rant of sorts against Castle regarding the stalker Placate bug that makes me happy.

How are you able to search back that far? When I do a search on my name it limits it to 20 pages, and that only goes back to 2009.

Never mind, I got it. Search the entire forum, show 1 year and older, by date in ascending order. It still doesn't seem like it's in order but anyway, I came up with this post in a thread from November 2004 congratulating the Dev team on revamping some of the "old" lowbie missions like Lou's Garage.

It's scary to think that that was less than a year after the game launched. I can still remember being excited about the newer maps for some of those missions.

The oldest post of mine I can find is eight months after I registered for the forums (which was three months after I started playing) and I'm talking pretty coherently about the game so I *know* I'm missing tons of older posts.

This seems to be the oldest THREAD on the forums going by thread ID.

Dates back to April 2004.

About the oddities of villains using their mishmash of powers and powersets. Pretty sure that was my first post, as it's only about 2 months after my reg date, though I may have posted in other ways before then introducing myself.

Here's my first post on these forums, back in '04. Interesting how much has changed, but some of it still holds true.

Ironically, although my memory is fading in my old age, I still recall my first post on the Beta forums. It was basically, "I love how enemies are 'defeated', not 'killed': it adds to the Golden/Silver Age flavor of the game, and makes it more family-friendly. But, how do you intend to reconcile this with powers like fire blast and assault rifle?"

I never got an answer...

Wow... My first post is from September 8, 2004... we about to reach that anniversary date! 8 years later come next saturday!

Forgive the horrible grammar and spelling. English is not my first language and I have learned better in the past 8 years... still suck though.

Anyways... I was apparently proposing Gauntlet. Not sure if anyone else proposed it before me, I don't recall it being implemented or acknowledged from my suggestion... but it came to be nearly exactly as I proposed.

I did a followup post a couple hours later on what I still think would be the ideal form of crowd control via aggro in a game like this: you hit a lieutenant, his minions will turn to you attempting to help him. You hit a boss, his lieutenants and minions turn to you attempting to help him and so on. Basically an aggro system via hierarchy that can only be activated by tankers.

Amazing, Shazzie. It is odd which threads were saved and which weren't.

Heh. I know these aren't my oldest posts, but the earliest ones I can find are costume suggestions; steampunk costumes and spaceman helmets -- including a space pirate helmet. :P

That's many months after I first registered on these boards, so I doubt that's anywhere near my first post. Likely the ones before were among the ones deleted by the old boards (remember how the old threads would end up getting deleted to try to keep them working?).

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

I actually found what I think was my first post, an entry for a costume contest for a cameo in the CoH comic. The links are broken but if anyone care here are the three images.

I don't have an old post, but I still have three characters in Outbreak. I'll be getting on and playing that mission through again.
