Can we please have this? I have so many characters that I would like to make and just LOOK at. I am just going to miss them so much.

I don't care if it will cost me another $20-$50, please just let us keep our characters.

Desperate Plea,
-MCM

If City of Heroes really closes, I second this full heartly.

The character creation system of City of heroes is outstanding marvelous.

(Maybe we can use some of our leftover Paragon points for this :P)
And maybe we could get a version of Pocket D attached to the tailor. No Powers or so... just for a walk in an other costume.

Edit:
P.S. I would like to have some of the music in the game too.... just for the memory

Yes it is ending. Everyone of the Dev team got fired so I have little hope for a continuance. I love my characters, I just want to be able to see them, and make new ones T_T

I truly hope they come out with this. For me, and many others (not for everyone of course) character creation, concept and looks are one of the signature and most important things of City of Heroes. I've spend most of my time in game in there actually (while i'm not a fan of the "post your best costumes thread" I worked a lot for the "Costume (re)-design thread).

If it happens, I hope it will include all pieces, including T9 VIP and all costume packs. But honnestly, anything is good.

--... so is this actually possible?

It would be an awesome legacy from an awesome game, with both awesome community and awesome team working on it. That went down on a way it didn't deserve

They made something like this once for Korea, but was pulled quickly. The old program is still floating around out there, but it is completely out of date. It could be updated and sold.

Me wants! *makes grabby hands*

Anyone able to get the ancient version from the Korean City of Hero? It shouldn't be TOO hard to add in the more recent assetts via some... well... SWINE investigation.

Me and the missus would totally pay for an offline Costume Builder program... even before the tragic news I would have paid for one.

Don't know how much I'd be willing to pay, but I'd love a way to download all my characters data and view it, and will probably be willing to pay something for this.

Ooh, so glad someone else thought of this. I just went through and saved them all...

Yep... I'd even PAY for it. (One time payment, please.)

I would pay a lot for the costume creator

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

$20-$50 if the stand alone, off line character creator. If they made it so that we could create new costume pieces ourselves? I'd pay up to $75-$100 provided there was a way to share costume files.

When I reinstalled the client about a year ago, I noticed that the download came in three stages. First the character builder downloads, allowing you to create a character while the rest of the client downloads. Then the tutorial, then the rest of the game. (yet another clever idea from the minds of Paragon.)

So, in theory at least, all you need to do is...

1) Get a computer without CoH on it. Or, trick your system into thinking that CoH isn't installed by renaming the install directory and/or commenting out the registry entries.

2) Download the installer and run it. Once Phase 1 is complete, pull the plug on your internet connection.

3) Permanently deny this version of the game internet access. Many firewalls will allow you pick and choose which programs get access, including the one I use, ZoneAlarm.

4) Assuming that the costume creator is in fact 100% client-side, you can now play dress-up dolly forever. Enjoy!

Didn't need that last comment... Some of us are actually artist of some degree and have used this system for inspiration for our own work. Try thinking about some form of art you have seen that you liked, something like your favorite Comic or Movie Character? I am sure you think that those artists were just playing "dress-up dolly." You obviously have no respect be for the effort and people put into the media you watch, you just take.

Dont you need to log in the servers to get to the costume creator in the first place?

Last I knew this was correct.

Someone posted this offline costume creator earlier (TY TY!). I just got around to installing it and its awesome.

Theres a readme file explaining how to change it from korean to english - if you change "kcoh" to "krcoh" in your regedit search - you should have no problem.

For his comment to be offensive, one has to make the assumption playing dress-up dolly is somehow bad... And why would it be?

You are the one showing disrespect here, by being so insecure about your hobby and implying we are all like you. I'm a grown man and I have no shame in enjoying the costume creator.

Maybe I have been bit on edge here on the web-forum. However that specific language has been used in the past in a very derogatory fashion. So I am equally over sensitized to it already.
