But all the costume parts are hosted client-side, so they'll still exist on our computers - we'll just need a way to add them to this program.

Theres a readme file explaining how to change it from korean to english - if you change "kcoh" to "krcoh" in your regedit search - you should have no problem.

Thank you
I found it... changed it... ran the program and it just ends up switching back...

Still, should CoH not get it's stay of execution, this is a valuable resource.

I did not post this - thanks again to the person who did. I've seen a few questions about it - so I've added the red writing to the original text to try to help you out. Good luck

The program is in Korean, follow the steps below to get it into english.
1) Install and run the application. (tricky because its in korean - but I'm confident you can figure it out - exit the program before proceding)
2) Run regedit (or regedit32 for Windows 2000, in the system32 directory). (In windows 7 - click on START and type REGEDIT, in the open box at the bottom - next to the SHUTDOWN button)
3) Locate the KCOH (or similar, running from memory here) directory under Software/Cryptic (with the registry open - click EDIT, then FIND, KRCOH - there may be a couple of instances of that word in the registry - keep searching until you find one with the word LOCALE in the box on the right)
4) Change the Locale value to 0 (right click on locale and modify it from 3 to 0)
5) Now modify the security permission for the KCOH directory and remove or deny all permissions except "Read" (again - its KRCOH - right click on it and change the permissions - make sure it does not have full access or write access - this is an important step - failure to do so will allow the program to revert back to korean)
Now run the app and it should run in English

Its not quite that simple. But it might be possible to look at how the Korean CC did the "loop back" to make the character data local, and hack the real game clients to do that. Also, the real clients need to actually connect to real servers to allow you to make characters because real characters are stored on a game server. But faking that out might be a lot less difficult than recreating an entire server instance.

Maybe easier than that. I found this old link and someone added pieces to the old stand alone CC before.

The costume creator was definitely one of the best parts. I was able to get several friends to play around with just that, even though they had no gaming experience. Definitely need one of these...

You need an emulator offline server to mimic a valid login and whatever else is required to use the costume creator, probably power info.

This is considerably easier compared to a map emulator.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

If it happens, I hope it will include all pieces, including T9 VIP and all costume packs. But honnestly, anything is good.

It would be an awesome legacy from an awesome game, with both awesome community and awesome team working on it. That went down on a way it didn't deserve
This hell if they just let the server software leak so that we could set up our own servers or modify it even further and turn it into something single player much of the anger from the closeur will subside
I have a 60 day time card I'll never be able to use now

They have a refund setup in place, though by the time you get this message it'll likely be too late, if you get it at all.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm no programmer but it seems it wouldn't be too hard to update it from our files, maybe even to allow it to access everything including gm only pieces
