  1. I send you my main's cossie (lukasblablablabla@gmail.com), which is in my opinion one of my best cossies... and added information in the email.

I am looking forward to what you're doing ^^

  3. While I agree it would be awesome if there would be something special the last few days (but let's not give up hope just yet, the chance is small, but it's there that it may not end...so this is ofc assuming it did :/) BUT don't forget there are only a few people left at paragon (and I don't even think they're actually getting payed) like zwillinger and the production guy. They can do certain things like spawning GM's, as you say, but they cannot add anything new (like that badge).

So a new event wouldn't be here, they can re-open (1, but only 1) holiday event, and ofc the devs can spawn stuff, but a real event... on Twitch zwill said they're still looking into things.

I'm sure they'll come up with something tho... (iirc TonyV is organizing some special stuff too, like a big photo shoot on virtue...this (?) saturday. I can't join even though I want to, but if you want a cool photo, why not do it with dozens of others ^^)
  4. I truly hope they come out with this. For me, and many others (not for everyone of course) character creation, concept and looks are one of the signature and most important things of City of Heroes. I've spend most of my time in game in there actually (while i'm not a fan of the "post your best costumes thread" I worked a lot for the "Costume (re)-design thread).

If it happens, I hope it will include all pieces, including T9 VIP and all costume packs. But honnestly, anything is good.

--... so is this actually possible?

It would be an awesome legacy from an awesome game, with both awesome community and awesome team working on it. That went down on a way it didn't deserve

    Rula Shin codes!

Haha, I thought they were all used, then I decide 1 more time with the second code on the EU list: THH4-KCJ9-MEM7-WQMC-D9S6

Thanks again... This and the Talon one are a very nice gift
  6. Used: 3367-4UPQ-AZXU-UKUE-ZS4K (randomly selected one )
I'll use this for the time possible... :/
    BIG THANKS THO
First time ever I get a code of anything ^^
  7. Honnestly, in a game like City Of Heroes I don't consider copies or homages of any kind really creative, I personally dislike them a lot, and since you're not allowed them to play in game, even problematic for people who ignore the rules. And don't bother to make an own costume. CoH has one of the most expanded character creations I know of, clicking the random button alone can sometimes bring up surprisingly good costumes.

However, I do understand that if you like a certain hero or idol, that you want it in game. In fact, it's an honour for the companies that made that character in my eyes, that people try to mimic it. (again, I do not think it is creative at all) But for me, in order not to think "Another copy..." you'ld have to make a costume that doesn't look like an exact copy at all, yet of course, somehow tells you "hey, it's inspired by that hero".

This can be done by probably giving it a look from another origin (making it more high-tech, more arcane, less tight-ish, more tight-ish), changing colours, adding/removing things.

If you make some kind of copy/homage, I think it should have a personal touch that really makes you see the difference between the original costume and your own version of it in game. Just straight copies wont get any compliments from me (how hard people worked on it, I'm sorry, I just don't think it's creative). Another thing is creating a costume inspired from an (iconic) hero, where you start with the inspired idea of that costume and really go your own way. Sometimes ending up with a completely different costume.

    Of course, this is personal.

When they have powersets ready like last time, it's most likely going to be something like 1 powerset a month (*when they have powersets ready*). So it's likely either BIO or nature comes out in august, and the other one in september (ofc, I could be seriously wrong ^^).

Just because a powerset is (or seems) ready in beta, it doesn't mean they'll put it on live as fast as they can. By spreading it out, they have a powerset to give out multiple times, rather than just releasing them all shortly after eachother, possibly with bugs that need to be fixed (and maintenances), with people playing the new powersets, burn out, complain they get nothing new and just stop playing.

They can't give something new every single week, or even couple of weeks. We're already getting more than before freedom, we will get the powersets eventually.

    --

For my favorite content, I'm a big fan of the praetoria arcs (not FW and NW, the story lines when you begin in prae). I've done all 4 so many times, and I think they're just awesome. The story is good, most are fun to play (I love the Syndicate, so yay responsibility arc!). My Praetorian toons also feel a bit special when they leave Praetoria
The order would be something like
    1. Power (loyalist)
    2. Warden (resistance)
    3. Responsibilty (loyalist)
    4. Crusader (resistance)
I love the clone arcs both sides, and villain side I also enjoy Vincent Ross, when you choose someone else to help you and adds little side missions (also gives connected badge).

There's more, but that's all I can think off now ^^

[Edit]: Signature Story arcs 2.1 and 2.2 are also on my list of fun content, The first SSA was pretty good (got better in the end I think, personally), but Pandora's Box is just wow to me. Let's hope they keep that awesomeness up!
  10. AE isn't really a priority (too bad, but I understand), but iirc Dr... Aeon (?) said stuff can (not will) be ported over eventually. For example when someone suggested to add the "in mission talk to boxes" he responded that it's possible, but it would take time. (that was during a Ustream months ago)

It would be pretty awesome, it *may* happen, but I'm afraid it wont be anytime soon.
  11. This set looks pretty awesome, both the idea/concept as it would work in combat. I personally, like the random stuff. I haven't seen something like this on the forums, but I tend to stay to the few I know So yeh whether you like the random or not probably will vary from person to person... to me it looks like the most fun part of the set ^^

And yeh the backfire effect may prevent it from being OP in some ways. It's certainly a set I'ld love to see, but I know nothing about developing so have no idea or this is actually possible.

The only reason I'ld dislike this set is because my main (Kinetic Melee/regen scrapper) has a space manipulating concept... i'ld either have to change it or remake him... But then, I've always wanted a true space/reality warping set!

(the only thing that looks weird to me is a buff by 15% makes them give 15% exp more [Roll 36])

In a nutshell, I'ld go for this set if it ever came out x)

However, thanks to the oddity that is Mr. G's arc, I finished up Imperial City with three bars left to 15. I'm thinking of doing the Responsibility arc here, then moving back to Power in Neutropolis so I can grab the badge. If I ding 20 before the next arc is over, though, can I still complete it?

I know someone had a guide to the Prae arcs around here somewhere, I can't remember who though.
As long you don't actually level. At level 20 all contacts should stop giving missions, but as long you don't level up at the trainer to 20 you should be able to continue. At least, that's been the case for most of my prae toons. (who usually end up at level 21 before they move on to either primal or first ward)

IMO, the same old forumites that complain endlessly about everything just come out in droves about the exclusivity topic, along with the concern-trolls (as my wife calls them). I post my opinions, they post theirs.

It's like the story I heard about some parents talking about the 'award-a-palooza' to at the end of the school year. "And here's on for little Johnny, who remembered to breathe everyday!" Every kid got an award for something, making the awards meaningless.

I disagree with the fundamental principle of losing exclusivity. Coupled with a disdain for any opinion against Paragon for being nice enough to give something away for free, exclusive or not.

What some posters don't seem to understand about me or my posting here either, is that I don't expect to 'win'. They seem to think these forums are some sort of debate where there must be winners and losers, where people must be persuaded to one side or another. If you don't get my point, I don't really care.

As far as respect goes, as human beings, I respect everyone until they use force on others. I respect everyone's right to have opinions.

I do not always respect the opinions other have. I post in the same challenging manner in which I interact with people in real life. I use blunt words and blunt logic.

IME, people whom I respect, respect me when I tell them what I really think, rather than treating them with kid-gloves.
Well in that case I took your comment the wrong way and I apologize for the what I said about the respect.

I have been a gamer for more than 30 years. I have met plenty of gamers that enjoy their geek rage like a warm blanket. Some humans really just like being ticked off.
Sorry, what did I do? I didn't rage, I never have. I have posted 2 comments in this thread, this being the 3rd. With them beiing with the question or this will be a common thing, and or the items will be available on another way. I got my answers. Yes it will happen more. No it will not be exclusive, you can get it in another way. I didn't rage, nobody in UC I asked raged. It was simply a response that saying that the majority of the players don't care, *may* not be correct.

I have said I support them doing this, that it's a good thing. But again, this not with the items being exclusive.

Also, what may be a cosmetic item for you, may be something symbolic, iconic or awesome for someone else.

You've been a gamer for more than 30 years. That's almost twice as long as I live. You are deffeneatly older than that, yet I don't feel you even treat me or anyone in this thread with *half* the respect I have for *everyone*. Everyone can have his opinion, and say what he or she thinks. Let it be on a friendly way, and not saying things that you can't be certain of. However, in many posts this has not been the case. Things have been objectified and generalized, to ones advanatage. Things those people cannot be sure of that are correct.

Sorry, I don't know what I did, or what the problem is.

Huh? I don't get it. Was first reading through the latest posts, thought it was sarcasm. Are you now really saying that, after 28 pages, more people *like* the idea. I asked on Union Chat, and the SG. 1 person said he wouldn't mind because it's an MMO thing. Many others said they'ld quit if they do that. Even more would at least be angry, and some wouldn't care if it was a *cosmetic* item. But would if it was something else. So I don't see many people that even like it in the slightest. But well, that may be because it's Union...ey?

I don't really get what you mean with people enjoying being annoyed.

That's just, as someone whos studies behavior science (psychology-ish) I can say that once you need to have the feeling of being "special" in a game is a tad, ehm, wrong.

Heh this thread went far since my 1st post. I'm happy with the responses given by the devs, if the stuff ever gets available to players who don't want to use social media (so in game, market) then I'm happy.

And no, I do not see why someone posting their displeasure must automatically come off as entitlement. These people want to give Paragon Studios their money, that's anything but entitled.

Further, in regards to the SSAs, when Freedom was announced we were explicitly told we were going to get a new SSA every month, and we've been getting them decidedly less often than that. Part of our VIP subscription was supposedly going to get us those monthly stories.*
Where exactly is the "entitlement" in wanting what we were told we would get?

    No-one ever said any differently.
SSAs and powersets aren't the only things they release. This is still pretty much the first week where nothing new was released.

*In fact, we were also told we would get a couple of comic pages at the start of each one, like with the tutorial. Whatever happened to those? We got a single picture with each story of the first SSA and with the second it seems we're going to get screen-shots.
    Ehm, just 2 things there

1: Yes, they said we would get an SSA every month. However, Zwillinger (I think it was him) has also stated multiple times that there will be gaps in between the different story arcs, to make and test the new ones. Once an SSA is started, like now, then it will be monthly, till it ends. Then they may wait till the next issue to fully test and make sure the SSA's are completed. We still have 2 weeks this month.

2: There have been many more weeks that we got "nothing". Mainly look at the months before issue 24, April and May. All they offered was nothing more than sets on sale. Because they were working on the issue mainly. They can't always have a lot of stuff ready to give away. We already get more than we used to.

Also, I think thirty-seven's problem is about there every week beiing a thread that it's a dissapointing week, not just this one. And that the feedback isn't always useful feedback but more "I don't like it, I want something else."

    --

It may not be a good week, but well we just got water blast. Not everyone likes it. But look at it like this, they could either publish everything at once with a lot of bugs, making a lot of people annoyed that the stuff doesn't work properly and try to solve it with tons of maintenances (more complaining), and ending up with extremely long periods with nothing.

We'll get the next SSA either next week, or after that. Then there are the rogue and vigilante superpacks coming end july beginning of august. And who knows, we may get the cybertech costume somewhere next month too, in top of the mako week. AND we still have 2 powersets waiting, and last time that happened they also released about 1 powerset every month (that means, if they have powersets ready and tested,...).

So cheer up everyone. We still got plenty of stuff coming. Patience isn't always a waste of time.

...now if they only would stop putting devs in their "secret project"...

This, the SSA's are once every month, except for a few intervals between issues to make new ones... iirc.

SSA 2.1 was pretty amazing... can't wait for 2.2

Also was a bit predictable nothing very special would be on market 1 week after water blast (and I think I got bats aura from halloween event ).

This is because it takes time and resources focused on a specific thing that only benefits a portion of the playerbase.

Ultimately it's just more efficient, both in development and in support, to recycle as much as possible.
I'm not saying they should make entirely new powers, or completely change/add new powers to existing sets. I do however think when I see what a SR/WP/anything scrapper/tank/brute can do and any range set, I certainly wouldn't want to see someone that can hardly ever die when surrounded by enemies BUT even stay in range. And in theory... never die. It would simply seem too OP. A change in the numbers of those powers *could* be a solution, even though I don't think many people would be happy with that.

Granted, there are blasters that almost reach softcap with IO's...
Like I said, as much I'ld love to see a set that has both ranged and armor, I wouldn't want it OP. And of course, you have to make sure there are no sets that will be UP too.

Again, I think Kirsten's thread is an example of how you can use existing powers to make new, yet interesting and balanced new AT's.

So yeh sorry if I misforumlated (is that a word...? Yeh English is far from my 1st language :/)

Nope. Dark Control/Assault was that special thing.
Really? So they were doing so mysterious to the upcoming changes to dominators a few issues ago! So exited in Ustreams and on forums, and it was just for an added assault set? And a control set? Thought they were going to make some changes like they did with stalkers or something... ah well...

PS: don't take this like a negative vieuw on dark/dark domis, I have one that I love, but new powersets aren't exactly so "special".
  24. Sebaddon

    New ATs

I, personally, have a bit mixed feelings about it. A new AT would be cool, and certainly interesting. What I wouldn't want is what some people suggest (I'm not saying in this thread, I mean in some general) that you can pick any primary and secondary you want. Worked out AT's like in Kirsten's thread are pretty cool. But they'll have to be very well worked out, as some combinations would be very...OP...

I see people saying they want a DP/SR or DP/WP but *if* they ever make a range/armor set I, personally, wouldn't like it if they were the exact same powersets, just put together. Seeing how awesome certain powers are on itself, combined with one another...meh. To me, personally (and well I know a few others, but it can't be generalized) it would ruïn the game if every combination would be possible. I, again personally, kind of like how the system works. It's true that some things aren't possible to make from the comic book culture but... well... I like the idea, as long there's put enough thought in it.

Sometimes I wonder why they can't work signature powers in epic pools (for example, I never understood why laser beam eyes for scrappers and stalkers instead of a blast/beam).

Apart from that, since they seem to be reworking AT's (stalkers, blasters, maybe tanks next and if I'm not mistaken don't we still need a special thing for domis?) I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for the coming issues :/

Well, not a genius in these kind of things, just what I think of it. Just keep in mind that this game has incredible mechanics behind every single thing, and everything has a reason. Making a certain AT "just cuz it would be cool" wont be enough, so yeh, again, New AT's = awesome, but have to be worked out good enough.

    So all that's left is...
Please don't yell at me when you disagree =)
