My home is champion but I used to have a toon on triumph that i got to 50 and did some trials with before moving him over to champ. Triumph seemed very nice and not at all dead.
Triumph isn't dead. It's just sleeping.
Incarnate trials that I led/participated in over the last 3 nights:
Friday: BAF & TPN, then a Yin TF.
Saturday: 2 Magisterium, BAF, Keyes, and a TPN.
Sunday: TPN, Magisterium, 2 BAFs, and a Lambda.
And I heard about a few more Trials/TFs besides those. For most of the above trials I had either a full league or close to it. While those were going on there were other TFs forming too, in addition to the DFBs you normally see.
Triumph isn't dead, it is just more relaxed than other servers.

Triumph is utterly dead during the daytime, especially weekdays due to the majority of Triumph's population working. There are a few things that form at night. Over the weekends, naturally it's higher.
Due to a number of factors, I've noticed Triumph's population dwindle over the past few months to the past year. Whether it's real life, other MMOs, i24 beta, or others playing on different servers in the meantime, these are all reasons for why it's happening. I'm sure when i24 hits, Triumph will be at full force like it was for double xp weekend, however I expect it to return to how it is now after a week. It's unfortunate.

Well at least it seems more populated than Victory. A little bit easier to find teams on triumph even durign the day than victory on their best days. And the people are as just as friendly but more of them on triumph.

I would point out that I have been on pretty regularly since re-upping my account back in October 2011. That said, during the summer I was on so much you'd think I was unemployed and had no life, which is only half true. Now that summer is over, I'm back to my full time teaching gig and as such will be on a lot less (read "not at all") during the daytime and probably less at night, owing to just generally being busier. Also, lately I've been addicted to soloing my demon/thermal MM. I attribute this to the frequency with which he gets purple drops doing one Ephram Sha and 5 tip missions a day. At this point he's also up to 22 Hero Merits, which means I spent the last 44 days (at least) doing 5 tips per day. I think I spent one or two Hero Merits in there too, plus there are always days I didn't get to do all 5 for whatever reason. Anyway, it feels like 2-3 solid months. In that time I haven't successfully done a Magisterium "Very Hard Way" badge run, I still need some stuff for Geas of the Kind Ones, and my Dominator still needs like 6 different Praetorians for Dimensional Warder.

I LIKE being on a low-pop server in a Superhero game. It makes me feel special. There shouldn't be thousands of superheroes in one city. Being one of the few helps my willing suspension of disbelief.
The first server that I clicked on. (gotta get my post count up I am wayy behind)
I've used my transfers & consolidated to slightly more populated servers, Justice & Freedom. I enjoy soloing fine, but some things just gotta have a league.
