Ok I have known rangle for a long time now, and I have teamed with him. He is no where near a grammar nazi. We both have meet a few. He has also helped ppl out when they do make mistakes just like others has helped him. That dose not mean he is one. I have been coming to this post to try to figure out what this thread is supposed to be, Helpful information, a question or what? I have tried to read what you was talking about but after a few lines the whole thing just kind of merged. So what is the main point of this post?

Main point is just information.

Rangle, that guy. Yeah, coming in like that is the wrong type of help. None of his posts at least in the past month has him correcting someone else's spellings or grammar or making a comment like he made to me. And if continue looking, I probably wont find one for at least a few more months. So he basically just singled me out to nit pick about grammar, and let it be the first thing he said.

I dont go to his post nit picking about grammar and spelling nor do I go to anyone else post and from the looks of it, not many other people do either. But nooooo, I cant make a spelling mistake, I cant make a grammar mistake. That's not allowed in his book. So he just moseyed on over he just to make a statement about the spelling. He claimed to couldnt have read it but he sure was able to read it good enough to pick out the spelling and grammar mistakes huh. If that is considered "help" then I want no part of it especially when just about every other post today and yesterday and probably further back than that gets off scot free with their mistakes.

You r wrong he corrected me just the other day here http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=292274
But back to your original post the information you was trying to give out was to confusing to read though. I will admit that I am not the greatest with grammar or spelling my self. To make the point on one of my toons I have a few words misspelled i have yet corrected. But a few ppl keep pointing it out to me.

Yea I seen that one. but that was more of using the wrong word so I didnt count that one. almost did it was about one month ago july 13/2012 a few days shy of a month, in a lot nicer manner, and not to mention the information on top of that. Did I get that same respect? nope. And still no one else he corrected, especially not today besides me. I havent checked your posts yet but will here in a sec.
But thus far the search words of mispell and typo (how I found that july 13 post), came up with nothing in recent times. Still trying to check with other ketwords but most coming up dry. None of the recent posts for this month contain nothing of people pointing out spelling at least the ones I found so far.

Within the month and hundreds probably thousands of post, Rangle remained quiet, except on my post. Even the post today that had errors in right above him in the post, yet he remained quiet still. But not on my post, oh no, it owuld of killedh im to let that one go. Or even word it like he did with your post

and I have names three posts with errors he did not correct and I have found plenty more. Havent gotten down the link system yet but can tell you the titles

I think this thread has gone about as far off topic as it can (without mentioning BBQ). How about returning to topic, or hopefully/mercifully it will get locked (or better yet deleted).

Please read the following as being meant to be helpful and informative:

There should be no need to ask your gender. Male or female, it has no bearing on the content you posted. Now, what was said is true, gender ambiguity defaults to the masculine in speech. Since you didn't come out and say you're female, it was ambiguous. And why should you say you're female? Gender doesn't lend credibility to your words. But if you want people to know you're a girl, just let them know when they say "he."

You can even just say it nicely. You're talking about the method of complaining, but then you come across as very much on the offensive when someone guesses the wrong gender. Let's be fair, the internet (and people who play this game) is a male majority. Safest bet is always to say "he" and move on. It's just the easiest way to go about it.

Now, there's also this little internet adage to consider: There are no girls on the internet. Don't click that link if curse words and crass content offend you. The phrase doesn't mean what you might think, which is why I posted the link. If crass language offends you, it might be worth putting your frailty on hold just to get a better understanding of the situation.

Kind of late but someone already explained this. So now I added it to my signature. That should solve that prob.

and it's not about credibility. I dont care about that credibility, respect and all that other imaginary ego trip stuff. It was more of the constant assumption that was bugging me. But that is done with, it has been explained and it has been fixed now. And I guess you missed the hundreds of times I actually have said it nicely but just so happen to come across this one? hmmm too much bit of a coincidence to me. But anyways this should no longer be an issue unless you get someone coming across just trying to be funny.

Personally I think it is very rude from the OP to consider her time more valuable than ours. How else do you explain the time spent by the OP (making the post coherent) being so much more important than the time of many others who have to make the effort to both decypher and read the post just because the OP couldnt bother?

My grammar isn't perfect either and, to be honest, I'm happy if people point out my mistakes so that I can learn. Small errors don't really have an effect on the clarity of the post (which is why I don't bother making a fuss about them), but sometimes the errors cumulate into a pile that just hides the content underneath it.

Well it was more of a formatting error but the way it was pointed out was rude so I replied in kind. A simple more better way of letting me know or even asking, sure I probably would of just edited it. But coming at me like that? I changing squat. Even though the formatting is just standard single spaced typing that is found in most novels, newspapers, magazines and other written works. In most standard single spaced writings, there is no space between paragraphs. Not sure what happened to to the indentions, but that didnt seem to be the issue here. If people cant read that, I wonder how do they read other written works.

And sure there are grammar mistakes and spelling errors just like probably 98% of the posts on here yet, for some reason, some choose only this one to rudely point it out, yet their comments about grammar and mispellings are absent on other posts.

Two days later, I still have no idea how you've managed to interpret "you might consider X" and admitting a personal weakness, followed by an apology, as "coming at you". I can scarcely think of a more diplomatic way Rangle could have stated it.

I can think of a few ways he could of done it better. And the apology came a bit after. One way is not at all, given the relative scarcity of him and most people correcting other people's post for starters. And if he was compelled to point it out, maybe he could of done it like he did with his last post that pointed out a mistake, about a month ago, July 13th if my memory serve me correctly. Now that was polite. But I much rather him just ignored it like he done with dozens of other posts he came across and said nothing. But, he jumped right on my post didnt he, with no hesitation. My post mistake was so glaring he couldnt help himself. Only thing he could manage about the whole post was about the mistakes. Yet on the other posts, which many was single spaced, he had silence as far as spelling and grammar was. But it would of killed him to let mine go. He couldnt allow me to make a mistake. No I'm not allowed to make mistakes. I must be perfect. Or else he'll pay me a visit.

I dont pick fights, and I didnt derail it. It was derailed when rude people like the first poster and entered and spouted some nonsense. What, is this, everyone just expect me to sit here and take the disrespect? Forget about that. Took it much longer than I should of have but no more. They get rude with me I get rude with them. See I bet if I went to other people's post say the crap that people been saying to me, most would react the same way I react and call it rude. But no, when people disrespect me and are rude to me and address them I'm the rude one. Go figure, but what ever. But respect goes both ways and same with lack of. If a person is rude to me, I'ma be rude to them. If they respect me, I'll respect them. It aint going to be oh just treat me any kind of way and I'ma say thanks. If that is what they are expecting they are barking up the wrong tree. Because I bet I can gurantee if I go to someone thread and be rude as hell to them and they respond, I bet none of you will be like. "Hey, stop being rude to Evil even though she was rude as hell to you." Nope, but when I respond to a rude person, it's me being rude and the other people actions are conveniently overlooked. If that how it is then flack it, I aint going to let it stop me and sure as hell aint letting anyone on here be rude to me any longer and not say anything. And if people is goign to sit here and try to place this bootleg doublestandard on me, then flack them too. But the rule still stands. If they stay out of my way I'll stay out of theirs. If they seek me out to be rude and disrespectful then I will return it, simple as that. Dont like me being rude, then dont be rude to me. Instead of getting on me about being rude get on the people that are being rude to me out of the blue. I dont see anyone doing that. Guess they dont have the nuts to do that because they must be afraid of gettign kicked out the inside "cool" club or something. Slaves to popularity.

I have a tendency to level Tanks together in sets of three.

Fire/, Ice/, Stone/ oh wait and Shield/ together.

Dark/, Willpower/ and Elec/ together.

I could of compared them. I could of wrote a blog about it.

At differing levels Tankers will meet their banes, come across their pains but ultimately more hours are likely to be spent post 50 and its where they all end up that matters.

Problems can be solved without relying on passives. To stay in or get out of a concept to do this independently is the question.

Or problems can be solved by relying on the team. Sometimes it may take getting someone in the team to use a power they barely took an interest in. Or multiple people to apply effects simultaneously to achieve a dynamic.

But we don't all need to rely on a Tank so the answer doesn't have to involve a Tank either, it's usually just easier for some that it does. A bit more insurance.

I will say that when I solo Tanks I pretty much set them all to +2 * 6 minimum and they have to work it out. I might have to pick my brains or do a bit of research to understand how to overcome a problem but somewhere in there it's usually down to taking targets down in good order or tanking for certain attacks, plenty of movement.

So for me peoples experiences will differ.

Out of what I read I will say that if there is a taunt aura, take it. I can't possibly understand why one is skipped/turned off. The DPE when hitting 4+ mobs is usually always good so whilst your working on some it's working on the rest. Add to that you attract mobs easier for team debuffs or aoes when teamed.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. Good stuff here.

Yea some people spend more time doing post 50 stuff on their characters. Me I'm juts the opposite. By 50 it's windng down as the character's storyline either ends at 50, continue to on to do the DA arcs, which doesnt take much time, and some a few iTrials but some of the more less common ones are hard to come by so after a few TPNs, LAMs, and BAFs, it only come out for MoM, UG, DD and the likes, which turn out to not be often as by then I have another up and coming character and sometimes probably miss the odd MoM, DD, UG during that time so the chances of even catching it to give the 50+ something to do decreases even further.

Another example of what I was talking about.

In the "Psi melee (finally) announced" post, someone seen an error in a post, they just corrected and went on with the discussion. No rude snide remarks, just one word, and moved on. They didnt make a big deal out of it, didnt act like a few mistakes made it THAT much harder to read or anything. Just *K*new and that was it on that part and went on to post about the topic. But apparently that is too much to ask for the same respect to be given to me according to some people.

That's because the general post was comprehensible.

Yours had no redeeming quality. The only thing to get out of your initial post was "Oh God, I can't even read that."

redeeming quality or not has no ties to respect and disrepect. If it was that aweful, even though it's standard format of many written literature, then maybe it was best that they moved on if they had nothing respectful to say or it was THAT hard to read.
