KB to KD Enhancement in Tornado

Just gotten my hands on an Overwhelming Force: Knockback to Knockdown enhancement and slotted it in Tornado on my Grav/Storm controller and... OMG!!!!

Ive never been against Knockback as it can be a very useful tool, but on my Grav/Storm Tornado was always a power I saved for tough targets (AVs, EBs etc) because it would scatter mobs. However I've slotted the new enhancement and now it just does knockdown and it is excellent.

It provides excellent control with the knockdown and lots of extra damage!

I thought Wormhole no longer agroing when used a game changer for my Grav/Storm but this turns him into a beast!

I just wanted to share that

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

I was very lucky when I got mine, I was expecting to have to use loads of converters

Having run a few missions with it now I really think that it has turned Tornado into a potentially "use all the time" power

I wish you could put it in the Lightning storm as well...but LS isn't that bad if you fly up to cast it.

EDIT: Also you can't convert the Overwhelming Force IO currently.

I heard you cant convert them.

In that case I am doubly lucky then! I assumed you could, I hadn't actually tried

I don't know if it's intentional or not but...you also can't place it in the Auction house.

If it works in Tornado, it'd probably also work in Bonfire. That would make Fire/ absurd.

Managed to get one yesterday but I really don't want to slot it until I get a few more (saving, perhaps, my only one for my future Water/Storm Corr )

AH issue is a bug.

Non-conversion (at this time) is WAI.

Yogi, slot it and enjoy. Could always use an unslotter later.

I know I am looking forward to testing this out with my energy/energy blaster, then warshade, then earth/storm and then perhaps I'll finally make a dreaded fire controller.

I still play for fun
From Liberty to Freedom
Any team level

My Warshade would like one in Gravitic; guaranteed KD and stun every 30 seconds (or less). All my /Storms are itching for that same Tornado action.

I thought the 'chance to' was going to be KB but now that I see its KD.... I may have to give that aspect some additional thought (20% chance, yes?).

Has anyone put it in Bonfire yet? As soon as I get one, that's where it's going.

It works exactly like you think it does.

in the 18 runs of the event i did yesterday i only got 2 of the kb converters lol

Tater did some testing of the enhancement and posted about it in this post in the Defenders forums:

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...9&postcount=24

In his words with the enhancement it works like Ice Patch but with some damage over time! So it could be worth slotting there

I want to slot one in Gravitic as well for my Warshade but Im low on slots.

Overall I think the most use you can get out of it is AoE powers that do knockback (e.g. Tornado, Bonfire, Shockwave, Solar Flare, Gravitic, M30 Grenade, Explosive Blast, Explosive Arrow)

If only it was global and not a damage universal LMAO.

I would have it slotted in Hurricane, Bonfire, Lightning Storm and Tornado.

Are you kidding me!?! I've done over 25 runs and I have only scored it once! Wow! lol

I also put it in Tornado and yeah...WOW. Between that and Freezing Rain the mobs just bounce up and down like they're being dribbled. My test run with it tonight was awesome fun.

all i have to say is darn you Local_Man lol

i did maybe another 14-15 runs tonight and only got 1 more kb proc lol

Just to confirm that my Fire/Storm put her version in Bonfire last night and it's... lovely.

Bonfire + Freezing Rain = flippety floppety fun.

The question is... I like Tornado and I like Bonfire. But which is better?

At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, it seems like this proc in Bonfire transforms Fire into contending for THE top control set. With this proc, Fire gets Earthquake with high damage and better recharge. So now Fire has everything Earth has, at least for hard control, just with more damage.

The irony is that Fire trollers will have to learn to stop spamming Fire Cages to take best advantage of the kd patch. Ironic because it's always been Fire trollers negating kd patches for my ice and earth trollers/doms.

Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)

Scored it in one run.. and after reading this it will get mailed to my Stormy for Tornado... and teh second I might get to my fire dom.

Sorry, but Volcanic Gasses is much, much better than Cinders. I would still give the edge to Earth for Control, but I am very much looking forward to trying out this proc in Bonfire. I just need to find more slots for Bonfire now.

Fire Control sacrifices a good deal of it's damage (Fire Cages AoE Containment into Fireball ) for a gimmick. Yeah, it's better hard control? But...

... So is Flashfire. Again, it's cute but Fire Control gives up damage for it. Bonfire does good damage, over >45< seconds.

Perspective is needed.
