That *is* strange. Nature Affinity and Water Blast seem to conceptually go hand-in-hand rather nicely.

Really? I'm kind of the opposite. I can't think of a single use for Bio Armor, save for making an Alex Mercer/Sil character.

There is nothing that really interests me in game being an 8 year vet aside from pvping. I've played through the game constantly, and I've run every trial.

Hell, I dont even pve much anymore aside from trials or new content (soon as its out I go through it and then thats that).

So, Devs, I humble ask you this: I CAN HAZ WATER POWERS NAO?!

Sweet Jebus on a stick, it looks like the coolest set i've seen in awhile. I literally am anxious. Overly anxious.

So when is it going to drop? Issue 24? If so, BAH! BAH I SAY!

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
There's a content release schedule that they have for months in advance - for example, War Witch mentioned tht they plan out the market releases a whole year in advance - so that means that they'll already have beta and release dates for power sets that we don't even know about yet.
They have to pace the release dates to make sure there's an even spread throughout the year, so we'll get Water Blast when its release date arrives, and not before.

Not sure if your terribly serious reply is because you thought my post was serious, but in case it is: mine definitely wasn't.

Well I for one didn't think you were being serious but I've learned not to be surprised at the way some people feel entitled to things or the arguments they use to justify their desires.

So while you were making a joke, there is more truth in what you said than you'd think.

As for the "water blast is so highly demanded" idea, here is my extremely unscientific view, based on nothing more than my memory, of the five powersets most requested by forumites over the past seven years, beginning with the most-requested of all:

1) Pistols as a scrapper primary. (This predates even the existence of the villain AT's. Newer forumites can scarcely imagine how requested Gun-Fu was as a set. It sometimes seemed as if a new thread about it started every week. This fervor died down a while before Dual Pistols was announced and more or less went away thereafter.)

2) Street fighting. (Eventually released. It never grew to the level of Scrapper Pistols, with numerous posts describing each power in detail, but it was mentioned regularly.)

3) Shields. (Eventually released. Not discussed in much detail by players because at the time it was most heavily requested, weapons could not be customized. Most mentions of it ran like, "Shields would be great, if we could pick how the shield looked. Too bad we can't.")

4) Water Blast. (Upcoming release. It's been requested quite a few times, but not in the detail of Scrapper Pistols.)

5) Spartan Mastermind. (It was tough thinking up what #5 could be, but in searching my memory, this seems to be the set suggested by the largest number of different posters in different threads. As you can probably guess, this was a brief fad of suggestions right after the release of 300. The other four sets I listed were discussed dozens, or in the top couple of cases, scores of times, while this one was mentioned perhaps three or four times. Which, I suppose, goes to show you that popularity is relative.)

Oh, and you cannot haz water blast, nor will they shut up and take your money.

So imagine the idea that its actually there and the animations look great?

It's just one of the things a lot of people have been wanting for a long, long time.
And how many of them are, or are soon to be, unhappy that they "have to" reroll their characters to take advantage of the new option? How many will make the perennial call for a powerset respec? :/

I'd like to have one of those for a character I "have to" remake as a Bio Armor character.

Of course, I won't make any sort of "call" for one, as I know how hopeless the effort is.

And said character should preferably be a Tank, but that won't be possible unless they finally get around to proliferating Spines.

I'm rather Meh for Water Blast, too. The concepts that are rolling around in my head are Beast/Nature or Archery/Nature. Possibly both.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

You forgot Staff Fighting.

Me, I'm Meh on the new sets, and have no plans on getting Water Blast any time soon, if at all.

Not sure why the big hoopla over new powers. It'd be nice to get them but what's the rush? You get them and you're doing the exact same content. I would like to see the devs use this new income and make some solid, new content. New maps, enemies etc.

I am not sure where they get marketing strategies from...the CoH team seems to make sure everything is top secret.

I really hope the devs poll players more often. The content in this game has been iffy for a while. Not bad but not great. Very repetitive and not too creative. Been here for 4 years or so and my global friends list is dead; they grew tired of the nature of the content and the game stopped being as fun. Sadly, most haven't returned. So, nice to see new powers but what about some original, fun issues. I think the best issue, since I've been around, is probably i12. Time to up the standard

My excitement for new powersets is that hopefully, they will fill in thematic gaps we currently have in powers. I can only squint at energy blast and say my characters shooting water for so long.

New maps/enemies/etc are only new once. After that brief moment all that's left again is the more enduring process of making/building characters.

If you add a few more it varies the experience more than what we currently have. I have no problem with new power sets but I think you need to have both. Power sets seem to be one of the big money makers right now so why not.

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere energy was originally supposed to be water blast. They couldn't get it right back when.

Nah that's just a rumor. Energy was always energy. Those "bubbles" are just Kirby Dots.
