Tyrant's Solo Mission
Yes. Everyone is having this problem. The mission just doesn't work.
My personal pet theory is there's just too many mobs crammed into too small a map. Everyone on it gets massive lag. Trying to use an AoE when more than like 4-5 enemies are active (not even -hitting- them) mapserves you.
Just seems like the simplest solution to try would be to cut the mob count down and see if that helps it. But to my knowledge it was never tweaked as such on beta.
Oh, great. Thanks White. I feel better now. Totally agree about the mob size..its much more than in any other mission.
How the hell did it make it out of Beta? Some people running super computers managed to finish it?
I was having this problem as well.
I was able to complete it though. You just have to be careful about using the AoE's, and you also have to wait a little bit when it says lost connection to mapserver. At least, that's what I had to do. Sometimes it'd freeze for ten or fifteen seconds, but then it'd resume. Very laggy, just like it was on beta. I hope that gets fixed soon enough.
I couldn't even do that. I just did it via ST attacks. Because when I mapserved, I'd wait about 20 seconds then it'd kick me back to log in
And they put out a patch that was supposed to fix it, but it was apparently completely ineffective (and was reported as such). So I honestly can't say why it got pushed to live completely as is.
The Wiki recommends luring enemies out with eye-beams and slowly, tediously killing each one.

You know, if they wanted to show off how powerful Tyrant was, maybe they should have just had most of the army attack and be wasted in a cut scene, then we just get a handful of them and the AVs.

Was reported as still broken through entire duration of beta, the only way to not crash is to use the single attacks rather than the nyke.

I used pulling and mixed in limited AoEs in my last run on beta and managed to finish it, although I had a few scary mapserves.

Did it using only ST attacks. Took forever, but at least I have only one badger and don't need to repeat that mission ever again.

For a mission that should be a whole heap of fun, with 'you' giggling like a maniac while being a one-shot-KO god-cannon...to have it so utterly broken, despite having been identified in such throughout all of Beta is seriously damn lame.
I'm not running it until they fix the ability to use AoEs without crashing, because the AoEs are part of the whole damn point and fun!

How long did it take for the lag in the ITF to get fixed without reducing the number of mobs? Because that's sort of the same thing we're looking at with this mission.

Doing that arc just now. Get to the last very very full mission, attack a few mobs. DC'd. Oh well, fair enough, I had just done a few trials and my settings are pretty high.
So I turn them all down abit and resets..and dc again.
Reset and put ALL my settings to minimum...and I dc AGAIN.
I get that its super cool to have him wade through huge mobs..but really. Is it needed?
I recall a bug in this mission with his powers..is it still broken?
