Tyrant's Solo Mission

Tried it three times. Mapserved all three, despite staying away from the AoE attacks.

The second time I was down to a handful of regular enemies and the AV lineup when it hit. So close...

And the mapserver issues got into my computer's head; when I tried joining a Magisterium trial after restarting after the third crash, it took three tries before I was able to zone in and do the trial. By which time I'd missed a good chunk of the Hybrid XP. Grr.

How long did it take for the lag in the ITF to get fixed without reducing the number of mobs? Because that's sort of the same thing we're looking at with this mission.
A traditional method like just using several waves of ambushes instead of spawning everything at once? A method they never tried in the beta?

That's sort of the problem. We saw 1 patch that attempted to fix it (it did not) but they never tried to tweak the actual mission numbers for folks to test.

Doing it in waves would be a traditional fix, and also probably the quickest. But the dev(s) behind the mission obviously wanted the encounter to have a bit of an "epic" feel, thus the massive presence at Tyrant's doorstep. Question is: Do they want to sacrifice that "epic" feeling for the sake of easier playability (given that it can currently be completed, albeit slowly), or do they plan on leaving it as-is and looking for alternative solutions?

Right now it's not feeling very epic, is it? I mean, I'd love to wade in, unleash an AoE and kill a mother-of-pearl load of enemies. Alas that is not happening. Doesn't feel very epic going in and having to kill every single pancaking enemy with a ST attack. With mapserves, I think it took me 45m to finish the pancaking thing.

I was not a happy bunny. And I still need to do it on my other badger.

'Easier' playability? How about ANY playability. I can't be the only one who does not find infinite DC's non-epic.

Want me to post a screenshot of the badge for completing it on my main character? I feel I earned it, as I had to use nothing but Tyrant's two single-target attacks to slog through all the Arachnos troops.
