Maybe the "gimmick" they'll use is to release it on December, 21st 2012.

I suggested a December appearanced for the Battalion a while ago
Although it'd probably need to rely on I24 coming out in August at the latest, withb probably no I23.5 or I24.5 - an amternative might be an I23.5 along with I24 to wrap up the Praetorian aftermath, and then an I24.5 at the end of the year as a kind of teaser for the arrival of the Battalion in I25 next year.

I would think an event this large and heralded in game lore would be spread over many, many issues, much as the Praetorian content has been. I'm not expecting an entire issue of "This is the Storm, and you've dealth with it."

I also expect people to get as tired of the Battalion and related issues as they've gotten of Praetoria.

And then there'll be a new threat after the Battalion

I think if you want to be REALLY technical about it, i21 was the beginning of the "Coming Storm", with the destruction of Galaxy City. Of course there's been references and buildup before then, but the Shivans crashing into Galaxy as a scouting force for the Battalion was the first real attack. That's the point where it stopped being just words, and started being something that was actually happening and had to be payed attention to.

As for what kind of gimmick they'll use to make them a real threat... hm... I wonder how unfair it would be to give random enemies an attack that could put a negative levelshift on players...

As they've consumed enough Wells to become an Incarnate "race", they could have all kinds of wacky Incarnate-themed antics to unleash on us

Don't worry, all the league will have to do is jump through 5 hoops, dodge a beam after the 5th hoop; all without touching the ground to get the lvl shifts back!

And for the badge, the whole league has to do it within 5 seconds of the first person jumping in the first hoop!

Wow, revisionist history right in the first sentence. Amazing.

He used Ouroboros to travel back in time and remove Cryptic from existence.

Eh. I don't see it that way. He's basically referring to "the team" and it's been the whole of PS since NCSoft bought them, er City, form Cryptic.

Maybe a footnote could be added for clarity, but I'm fine with how it's worded.

I bet the Battalion is an entire race of Statesmen. They originated on Statesman Earth, and have slowly been taking over the multiverse.

They'll disable IO set bonuses. >.> (And you could be more technical and say I6 was, with the meteors in Bloody Bay.)

.... really? Man can't just type what he's used to typing after a few years (Paragon Studios,) which is the current development house OF the game, without it being "revisionist history?"

Sheesh.

No, he can't. Without saying "The studio that was to become Paragon Studios", Matt is a worse propagandist than Goebbels, Chairman Mao, Steve Jobs and the man who put the "bomp" in the "bomp she bomp she bomp" ... PUT TOGETHER.

What about the man who put the ram in the ramalama ding dong?

Unless that just what Posi calls it when he and Numina... You know what? I'm not going there.

Never said he did it deliberately. Watch those assumptions.
