I was hoping that Staff Fighting being released would FINALLY curb the epic whinging about this powerset... but I see that it only took three replies to show me just how naive I am.

Omg they added staff melee already why didn't they add the powerset people have been asking for since like the dawn of time? I know I'm one of many players in the game who have been waiting for Slapstick Melee, and instead we just get a plain old slap in the face by having staff released first???? I get the feeling no one on the dev team listens to the community.
And what about our players on the European server?

I have been waiting to really get into a stalker. Is this the set for that, or is there another set that's more stalker-y? My gut says that staff will feel like more of a scrapper set.

As for Scrapper vs. Stalker:
The numbers are going to vary a lot. Scrappers get Eye of the Storm at level 6, Stalkers: not until 18. Scrappers get Staff Mastery and an extra AoE attack (Innocuous Strikes). Stalkers get Build Up and Assassin's Staff in conjunction with Assassin's Focus.
All things considered, the sets are well designed for the archetypes. The Stalker version is more focused on burst damage on single targets, while the Scrapper is more focused on sustained damage on multiple targets. If a play style better suits you, go with that. Or, base your decision on what each version brings.
For my own part, I find Staff Mastery to be obnoxious, so I will be rolling a Stalker so that I can reap the benefits of Form of the Body (which is inherent to the Stalker version) without having to take Staff Mastery as a power pick.

My points for this month should roll in early next week, so I shall be watching how the Staffers are doing. I don't play Melee much at all, but this could be good.
