So...yeah, probably a few weeks tops and I'm sure the programmers have SOME free time...
Oh, certainly, this should be a cakewalk. Except, you know, the cake is a lie.

More along the lines of things you would use with a Staff Fighting character and things you would use while leveling a Staff fighting character.

Next week's featured item must be something involving cheese, to go with all the whine around here lately.

Huh, that's much more useful than what I was guessing- a staff vanity pet which runs on four legs.

Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.

I'ma gobble up some of those discount server slots.
More slots would be ridiculously useful right now, and even if I re-sub it's something you can never have enough of.
Careful. I think at Premium only 36 of the 48 are available.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Got it.

I also tried a build with a procced out mercurial blow, but that didn't really help. I even tried adding EotS to the attack chain on a couple runs (which actually wasn't that bad compared to the PS>SR>PS>SS chain), I think that chain I used was PS>SR>SS>EotS using EotS for the -res. Respectable to me is 300+ dps, which is probably higher than most other people consider to be respectable.

I'm not a programmer either, but I imagine some of our programmers are gnashing their teeth at this statement .
I am a programmer and anytime a non-programmer says that something is "trivial to implement", I politely tell them that is like saying that a full engine overhaul for a car is likewise "trivial to implement". Or painting a good portrait is "trivial".

I'm sure that people that don't program have completely unreasonable expectations as to time frames involved in creating what they ask for.

What? They sleep at night? Okay, I take back everything I've said in this post! Every programmer knows that sleep should be reserved for 10 am to 5 pm. Why do you think caffeinated soda is a food group to programmers and that they have pasty-white skin?

It won't impact overall sales in any manner I'm sure, but I'm not exactly interested in paying for it now. Oh well.
I will be buying it of course because I have waited since I8 when I came to the game to make my Lunar Knight concept toon.

Having said that I cannot recall as many people in the forums and many many more in game saying anything like this for any other set. In view of that fact, it is more than clear sales will in fact be effected, to what degree is unknown.

It is my sincere hope the people in charge of how this was done learn from it and that the people that want staff will at some point still get it for their own personal enjoyment if nothing else.

This is an excellent post and one they could really learn something from moving forward.

I just want to take the time to thank you AND all the others that have given feedback surrounding this issue and can only hope that the powers in charge listen and learn. There are so many more people in game that have expressed this, but are afraid to come here to post, your are their voice. Cheers.

Okay I've lost track. What's the next power set we're supposed to want? So I know what to claim I've wanted since the game started, and so I can figure out how insane it is that we haven't already gotten whatever it is we haven't gotten yet.

What I meant was that people in my mindset are a very unique minority of the overall playerbase. There's a ton of people who are obviously very excited for the upcoming release, and I doubt it matters at all that they've burned out such a small portion of people who just happen to be privy to an above-average amount of information. In fact, I doubt it bothers them in the slightest. It's a melee set, it'll sell like hotcakes (or iPads, if you want a current analogy) regardless of the situation behind it all. They're going to release double xp boosters and the Hecatomb set along with it and rake in a ridiculous amount of money. That's not going to change. Obviously so, that's marketing's job, and they've done a fine job of it. In fact, they're doing a fine job now on Twitter, posting pictures of the set and retweeting comments from people who are excited over it.

So, no, I don't actually think my opinion is a shared one or that it means crap in the grand scale of things. And maybe it shouldn't. I've disagreed with a large number of Paragon's decisions since the turnover to Freedom and voiced a few of those disagreements, but it's not going to stop them from doing whatever they like, or really do anything that affects the one metric they really care about (money). We've all seen how hilariously poorly the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott went, with a large number of people who joined the Steam group for it playing it on day 1.

So, yeah. Depressing is fairly accurate to describe the situation. We're so far past the time where anything that isn't stamping your feet and making as loud of a noise as possible, gathering up other people to do the same and making yourself look a group of entitled selfish children will get you noticed in a meaningful way.

edit: And the dismissive behaviors exhibited by everyone else cements my belief. Rational complaints and concerns are "weeping" now. Outstanding.
