Understood and I don't entirely disagree!

WHY IS IT JUST SITTING IN THE WAREHOUSE!!?!?! I especially love it when it is driven from one warehouse, past your neighborhood just to sit in another warehouse, hehe)
I understand the analogy, but it's a bit different in comparing a physical product with a street date to a digital one. Knowing that Staff's literally been on Live since i22's release (and even before it, at least in some capacity) and could have been given to you at the flip of a switch is around 1000x more frustrating in that regard. Or in some cases like Titan Weapons, where it was oh so very briefly leaked, and people had it a few weeks before it was supposed to be out. That's levels of frustration I'd like to see UPS try to mimic.

And it was very broken for the people who had it. Wrong animations, invisible weapons, powers doing the wrong thing, you name it.

If Staff had been available at any point until it went into beta testing, it probably would have been similarly broken / unplayable. Just because they had some animations or power names implemented doesn't mean that it was anywhere near complete. It still doesn't even work 100%, there are reports of disappearing weapons on recent betas.

I'm not suggesting it was done any earlier than it has been (though obviously, neither of us know that for sure). Bugs are unreliable though, and as it's been shown, even things that are fine on beta manage to break on live. Releasing Staff at i22's launch or shortly thereafter before any patches were implemented purely by judging progress on beta would have been as bad as releasing Darkness Control or Dark Affinity - both of which had their own share of issues at launch. Just because a set is in the wings doesn't mean it's undergoing constant tweaking, especially if it's in a mostly done state. There are plenty of other things in development to soak up that time.

Your marketing department has always been epic phail and why this game will never reach its true potential. Everyone one of them needs to be replaced if they think this is how to get customers.
Hmm...interesting I am sorry I missed this when it was posted.

There are some players whose opinion I generally respect, but "entitlement" is definitely the word that comes to mind when I have to characterize my interactions with several closed beta testers that I, the paid customer who didn't get to voice an opinion, was forced to deal with. While I obviously don't expect the developers to listen or even read what feedback I have, I can't really say I'm sad the same small group of people are no longer dominating the direction of feedback.
I am glad you made this post because it is in fact so true it brings a smile to my face.

AMEN. alt pets PLEASE. PLEEAAASSEEE. ANYTHING BUT WOLVES. IM SO SICK OF WOLVES.

:'( but no we just got a lot of canine ports.

also, why are the Black Knight's dogs regular dog colors but spit out netherworldly powers...

... umbral beast is a straight wolf port...

its like theyre closing their eyes when they do these things. XD

wow im bitter about that. O_O

i just hope staff has some more great models. like the animus arcana one on Night Ward. or a spear. or a tree branch with leaves.

:EDIT: but that's ok. now im waiting for a new leaked set that hopefully will be more amazeballs than evar when it comes out months from now.

brief side comment about that XD

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today's customization and tomorrow's alt models, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Mastermind's dream.

I have a dream that one day this city of Paragon will rise up and live out the true meaning of its customization ability: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all nameable pets and alt models are created equal."

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day, the streets of Paragon will be a peaceful place, where Player Characters can truly embody the spirit of creativity, escape, and imagination. Archetypes will reach theyr full potential, and even some beyond that. Masterminds will command their minions or fire their attacks be it six thugs, three bots, one wolf, or even no demons, without the fear of someone else telling them how to play their character, regardless of it's actual effect on the team, survivability, or theme.

I have a dream that one day, the dear Developers and Programers will find a way to cross the hurdle that is preventing alt model customization from happening for masterminds like it does for NPC transform powers and the animate stone, changing the look but not the power[s].

I have a dream that one day even the Rogue Isles, a place sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of customized pets for every theme; female mastermind minions, badge unlocked villain-group minions, alt models of every creed and color [except complete customization cuz that's just redic'].

Let Alt Model MM Customization ring from the snowcapped mountains of Pocket D!

Let Alt Model MM Customization ring from the curvaceous horned slopes of Cap Au Diable!

But not only that; let Alt Model MM Customization ring from the tall mountain of the Hive!

Let Alt Model MM Customization ring from Mot's lookout mountainous head in Dark Astoria!

Let Alt Model MM Customization ring from every hill and molehill of the Hollows and Nerva. From every mountainside, let Alt Model MM Customization ring.

And when this happens, when we allow Alt Model MM Customization to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's minions, mercenary men and knives of artemis, thugs and carnies, default zombies and banished pantheon zombies, default bots and clockwork, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Mastermind spiritual, "Yessss Massssterrrr! Attack! Follow! Heel! thank God Almighty, we are customized and themed at last!"

ThEnd.

back to staffs:

But about Staff Meelee. I can wait a couple more weeks. It's like... gonna change the game! STAFFS EVERYWHERE. i bet we'll see more staffs than dogs! question, it was confirmed that dream doctor's staff will be like blue steel's shield: unattainable?

Needed for the staff weapon pack...

A dogcatcher's net.

That would indeed rock to have a dog catchers net in the staff weapons pack.

Here's the thing, and I'm sort of surprised no one thought of this:

If Zwill is accurate in saying he has a release calender. Then it doesn't matter that Staff was ready before BM was. They have a schedule they're obligated to keep.

It doesn't make logical sense to us, sure. But Paragon has deadlines and marketing and all that jazz. If their deadlines said "Beast Mastery released in this timeframe" then they HAVE to release it. Why?

If they don't or if it's late, they it sets back their ENTIRE release schedule. Likely everything has to be rearranged so that items are released with proper spacing.

Besides, sure, BM isn't quite up to snuf, but that CAN be fixed, and that's likely easier than them having to completely redo their release schedule.

People thought of it countered it and now since it is coming next Tuesday are not going backwards to re-counter what has already been countered in the past.

In other words, it's over mate, everyone is looking forward to next Tuesday. Hop aboard the train there is plenty of room.
