Taking dates? Well, I've never taken a date to a beta. I tend to find things like dinner, movies, some quiet time somewhere, some not so quiet time at a concert, etc. works far better than "Let's see if we can crash this" for a date.
But, hey, some people might enjoy it.

I'm glad that there won't be an i22.5 cause tbh it would just mean a longer wait for i23.
At *some* point, COH will shut down. It's fair to assume that the boards will go down at some time around then. So there is a stopping point - we just don't know when.
Admittedly they could take it to another board (in which case we'd have to find it,) or to email (in which case we wouldn't see it,) but we wouldn't be *here* any more.
Worst comes to worst, given the average human lifetime, we have only decades of potential argument. (Actually, second worst. There's always the death of the sun, or the extinction of humanity, or the death of the universe - take your pick. But not "forever.")

No, it wouldn't. It would be scheduled in with specific windows. Issues do not delay the issues (or half issues) behind them, barring major bugs being found that hold everything up. (Even then, unless it impacted something in the following issue, it wouldn't slow it down noticably past the scheduled "slippage" allowance.)
They do work on them in parallel.
(Don't ask me why, the above misperception just bugs the heck out of me when I see it. I had to say something.)

I was just going to say, "Issue 23 'open beta'" but then didn't want to have people post and say, "OMG YOU LIED, IT'S NOT IN OPEN BETA NOW!!" and then die of heart attack or something.
Just was more curious about when people thought it might go live (to vip beta that is)

Yeah, I used to keep track with the Dev and Community Digests' RSS feeds but they seem eternally broken.

Well they've implied there will be higher level praet content and the story is nearing towards wrapping up now that most of the major Praetorians have been taken down. I'm thinking there'll be at least 1 more praetorian zone like we had First Ward.
Really I'd -loooove- a Devouring Earth infested area. I mean First Ward had some of it, the giant stone tentacles, the fallen seed with the blooming mushrooms, etc. I'd like to see an area that's totally corrupted and converted.
We -do- know that a lot of the issue will be overhauling everything that involved Statesman and Sister Psyche. First and foremost in my mind that means yet another revamp of the Maria Jenkins arc. And whoever will be the placeholders for the Statesman and Sister Psyche Task Forces.
i'm just ready for the wind blast powerset to be released to beta for testing.
