City of Heroes for Vita
I once tried to play CoH with a 360 controller.
It was painful.
The game was designed with keyboard and mouse in mind, and then you need to work out if the cost of investing resources/cash for the port is worth the pay off.
And I just don't think it would be. Then you have to consider the Vita's hardware and storage limitations.
Because console ports of MMOs always go so w-
No. /Unsigned. This'd be a total waste of resources and a flat out loss of revenue, money that'd be way better spent on putting more stuff into the game.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

its not a console, it's a handheld
A handheld is just a portable video game console.

1) It's an even bigger leap code wise
2) There's even less buttons than a regular console controller
3) You expect a full MMO, with all the space that takes up and the connection it requires, to run on a handheld?
This isn't happening. As in, I will actually take one of my hats, smother it in Nutella, and EAT it if the Devs ever, ever decided that, somehow, this was an even remotely feasible idea. Because the world will have become that insane anyway.

And then there's Sony's track record for handheld gaming devices...
your = Belonging to you.
you're = Contraction meaning "You are."
Ur = The name of an ancient Mesopotamian city.
ur = This is not a word.

Also one other thing...
Why in the world would Sony want to try and Port City when they have a (putting it mildly...) Supers MMO already that could be ported? And do you really want to deal w/PSN just to access it on the PVita?
No thank you.

Thank you for the time...

I'm sure some time in the future there will be portable devices that will be beefy enough hardware-wise to be able to play games as well as I can play them on my fully-loaded desktop. But until that day comes I just don't see the point. *shrugs*

CoH being ported to Vita needs to happen.
Please, Devs, make it happen...
P.S. - Just kidding

I can't even stand to play MMO's on a laptop.

Yeah, not gunna happen, for all the reasons mentioned.
Though, the thought process of this idea is interesting ..
PSVita = Good
CoX = Good
PSVita + CoX = PROFIT(?)
If they didn't port CoX to Xbox 360 or PS3 or Wii, it won't happen with the Vita. That's all there is to say on the matter.
I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...
as you all know, the PS Vita just came out:

Before your post I'd never heard of it.
Some of us have no interest in consoles, especially handheld consoles.
I have a computer for the games I want to play.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
And then they'd have to keep a Vita Dev team on staff just to port all new content over to the Vita platform.
Y'know, i don't see how any of that could be considered an issue. We should start at once!
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
With the controller/keyboard/mouse setup the keyboard should only be necessary for chat, and the mouse for clicking interactable objects. I can map the mouse to one of my joysticks so I luckily get to ignore it.

Ever drive a stick shift? You have to manage a steering wheel, a turn signal, and the gearshift all while managing three pedals with two feet. Not to mention the extraneous things like headlights, heating/AC, radio, windshield wipers, cellphone, coffee, and breakfast one might be juggling at the same time.

Ignoring that it's technically a handheld console, as a handheld it's even lower powered computationally and graphically than a regular console. This means they'd have to write a whole new client with all new models and textures for every single object and UI element in order to get CoH to run at all. Effectively they would have to assemble another Dev team equal to the one already in place remake the entire game's art assets and engine all over again. For a Sony handheld. And those have such a great record in terms of sales and longevity.

so they won't have competition and they will make a lot of money?
