i22 Release date imminent? Lets get excited!
Gee. Here I've been blaming Rangle for all of that.

April 9th.
History will show that last 3 years Issues have been coming out in April. History will also show that never has there been an Issue released in March. And the only time an Issue was released in February was in 2006. They will not go for the obvious April fool's joke by releasing it on April 2nd, they have something else in store for that. |

Golden-Girl.. u know as much as i do.
Stop pretending and let everyone think you have insider knowledge with your smiley icons. Because face it, if you had, u know you are not even allowed to drop a hint. God, i hope it'll be on April 9th so i can rub this in your face. |
Uhm . . . Bad news Dark.
GG was RIGHT!!!
It seemed like a sure prediction, to me. An April prediction seemed a great deal more far-fetched, all things considered.

It seems your imminent plans for face rubbing will have to wait for another time LOL! Face it, say what you want but GG DOES seem to have the inside track.
the better part of it was how aggressive he got, and he even mentioned how, if he was right, he'd rub it in her face...well guess who was wrong, the guy who cant find his y or o keys.

If we were still using the pure subscription based model...he probably would have been right. But since Freedom, release dates mean bupkis.

Why did the rest of us hear about it? Dont put the blame purely on NCSoft

Found it on the shelf, had some money to burn and thought 'why the heck not?'
No advertising, no articles in gaming magazines, nothing, nada, niente.
BWAHAHAHA...No!
Now while I don't want them to lose their jobs, maybe someone should send the whole marketing team on an extended marketing-seminar... under threat of getting stun-gunned

Ya know what? Heres a realsitic rundown of what they have. an 8 year old game in a genre where it has achieved a middling sized population relative to the one game nobody shuts up about and in a sub-genre that has had the other 2 games fail hard. its graphically dated and the positives, customization, community, accessability to people who dont like the usual mmo tropes are all niche positives, it also has a necrotic pvp system, no "hardcore" raiding and a more relaxed crafting system, all negatives to the standard mmo player.
LOL so what you think marketing does a good job for COH then? is that what your trying to say excuse me while I wipe away the tears from laughing so hard.

I love coh, been here continuously since june 04 and subbed at least 2 years from now. but i understand the lay of the land, and i understand that marketing has to have a projected return for significant financial investments. so yeah, maybe there are a few things that the peanut gallery can say could have been done better, but a realistic look at the lay of the land shows that there are fewer realistic options to market. I try to do the word of mouth thing a much as i can, because i can tailor what i say to the person im talking to, but a broad based marketing push to a public that wants cartoonish elves and space samurai, I can appreciate the difficulty.
I have seen a lot of GREAT games get overlooked, okami, beyond good and evil, psychonauts, ico all amazing, all had middling sales, and people blame marketing, but you know what, sometimes, its just gamers(and people in general), large populations tastes regress to the lowest common denominator, and marketing cant fix that.

Gas prices? Posi.
Poor donut selection in the cafeteria? Posi.
I caught a cold? Posi.
I'd blame States but Posi killed him disguised as Wade.
total kick to the gut
