Suggestion lvl cap to 70
Increased level cap doesnt really work for this game.
You seem to be a bit new here (welcome to the forums!), so I'm going to warn you up front that you're probably about to be bombarded with some nasty replies. Try not to take them personally. There are a lot of veterans who have a bit of history behind the requests you're making who think they know everything and who won't hesitate to inform you as such.
Here's the no-snark response to this post:
1) You need to post these kinds of messages in the Suggestions and Ideas forum. This one is mainly used to help players who are having technical issues running the game, or to report bugs or unexpected weirdities with the game.
2) The devs have a long history of basically saying that a level cap increase will never happen. No, they haven't come right out and said it that bluntly, but there have been things said like, "I doubt it will ever happen," "It would take prohibitively long to change the engine and rebalance the game," etc. They'll never come out and say, "This will never happen," but it's as close to anything they've ever claimed is in that status.
3) The space idea... Probably will happen at some point, but the player base has been going through various levels of expectation for it since a survey was sent out that vaguely intimated it back in, what was it? 2006 or 2007. They probably have actually worked on it at various points, and as far as we know, it might be almost ready and will be pushed out in Issue 23. Or it may never get released. It's just been kind of the running joke for years, something the players thought was imminently on the horizon and that never came to pass.
4) I'm not trying to be mean or obnoxious, but very, very rarely have the devs ever incorporated a player's story suggestion into the game. In fact, the only time I can remember it is Numina's back story, which was design by a player who entered a contest specifically for that purpose. The devs do, however, frequently incorporate player suggestions when it comes to game mechanics, quality of life features, and so on. I'm not saying that you shouldn't offer up story suggestions, I'm just warning you that it's highly unlikely that they'll incorporate them.
Hopefully people won't be too snarky in the rest of the thread, but like I said, if they are, don't take it personally. It's just that a lot of the things you happened to specifically mention touches on stuff that has a long history in the game.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

I was actually thinking about this the other night, but didnt the devs want to give us a couple extra enhancement slots? If I remember correctly they wanted to give us 3 slots in place of a couple levels that normally only gives us 2 but it broke the game. Wouldn't adding a few levels allow them to give us those slots they wanted to give us?
I'm not saying increase us to 70 or 100. I'm talking about being at lvl 53 or 55.
I'm all for having at least 1 extra power on all my toons and an extra 6 slots. Doubt one more 5 or 6 slot bonus would overpower us. Than again I havent fully thought out every aspect.

Considerin' the powers players have received from the Incarnate System, and the five remainin' slots that will be forthcomin' in it, and those're just the first tier o' powers supposedly from the Alpha Incarnate Powers, I feel that we've already receivin' that one extra power, in addition to quite a few more. And some o' those powers, thus far, have effectively increased the level o' the involved players.
Additionally, he mentioned different missions for different Origins. Origins were supposed to play a larger part in power selection and presumably be along these lines. However, they moved away from that approach and I would find it highly unlikely that they would return to it when they've made no such move in the rest o' the game's history.
Furthermore, outer-space/space station; I'm fairly certain we'll get it eventually. Take the fight to the 'Coming Storm', or Battalion, or what have you. After all, it's in those other knock-off games, so I'm fairly certain Paragon Studios won't let'em get away with it forever.

Sounds like someone has been playing other games and wants to port over some of the stuff. Not going to support this kind of deal as it is not needed.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

a possible +2 in normal content.
Heck if the other 4 locked incarnate abilites are like Lore/Destiny, we could be 50+6.... which I doubt.
I am pretty sure the only other bonus we will be seeing in terms of Incarnate content is a +1 shift in Omega... OR 2 more Incarnate shifts in the second tier incarnate powers and NONE in Omega...
As to the proposed idea? Raising the actual level cap is a horrid idea... and the proposed content to go with is far far far far too short-sighted and small to be worth a 20 level jump.
Welcome home
As you've been awy for 2 years, you might have missed the new Incanrate endgame system that's been added to the game - it allows palyers to progress past 50 with the use of level shifts - currently, there are 3 available level shifts, which make players close to 53.

i also agree that raising the level cap is a bad idea, theres no reason to raise the level cap and that is what incarnate content is for in terms of end game
they already have GMs that require full teams to kill (IE seed of hamidon in first ward)
This brings back memories of the early discussions of the impending increase cap from 40 --> 50. I forget the details of what had happened back then for this to occur, but from a logistical standpoint this would probably be a nightmare if it ever happened again (especially a 40% increase like that).
Back then it was simply getting the game out, level 50 was always in the cards. Issue 1 bumped it on the CoH side, Issue 7 bumped it on the CoV side.

If the developers' event avatars have anything to say about it, it looks like we might see 50+8 at some point; that's the highest player character we've seen in-game. (That is obviously not set in stone to be the max; we may go further, or may stop at +4 as Matt suggests.)

level is just a number
I recall in Ramiel's arc, the first mission has you pitted against all those AVs, and although they are AVs, they're only yellow to you. I can't recall exactly what level they are, but I believe they were 54 AVs, which may give rise to possibly 50+8 in the future (providing the Devs choose to have the incarnate abilities similar to those within the mission).

So you can't really compare that one-time launch situation to this. This game was always designed to stop at the 50 cap and not go past 50.

For what it's worth I'm sure the Devs of this game have been considering this issue for the last 8 years. Perhaps one of these day more games will follow CoH:Freedom in realizing that the mere "trick" of increasing a level number does not equal new content to play with.
To be clear the Incarnate system of this game is the "post 50" content you're looking for. No, it doesn't give you a number bigger than 50, but it accomplishes pretty much the same thing.
Have fun...

Is that Comic Sans?! What blasphemous horror have you got as text?!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

And I was wonderin' how long it would take for someone to comment on my set-up, which I committed some minimal effort to limitin'. But there were certain lengths that I wasn't willin' to go to.

What id like more than this..... Is make maybe "leadership" inherit or move the most used powers from Leadership and The fighting pool and merge them and make it inherit and the other powers in a different pool renamed.... Along with extra power slots for the new inherit stuff still be able to have the 4 pool powers. Like concealment, speed, flight, leaping, etc.
Did not know where to put this
I had this idea after coming back to City of Heroes after 2 years.
Those new Shivans that took down Galaxy City angered me, and i thought of a way to strike back.
After Achieving level 50, Heroes and Villains would go to a Vanguard station Located in both Peragrine Island and GrandVille.
This station will have some sort of deployment (aircraft) that would take you up into space. You will there spawn on a huge Vanguard Space Station. Based on your Chosen Origin, Magic, Science, Technology, Mutation, or Natural you will have different Missions.
After completing all the Missions and reaching level 70, the player would have the ability to take down the Giant Monster that you fight in the tutorial in Galaxy City.
Rewards could vary from Merits to Incarnate Threads/Shards.
This could be a level 70 version of the Notorious Hamidon.
You would actually need a large league to Take down the GM.
Quests could be done on the Shivan planet, fighting Plane Shivans and the New ones.
I am open to more suggestions, I am directing this to the Dev's to look into this idea.
