F2p players can't make use of Hero/Villain packs?

Catalyst's are incarnate drops (they drop from any mob in any incarnate trial like threads only its very rare 1 in 5 or 6 run maybe) and like any other incarnate drop they can't be traded.

That's why I don't have a problem with these new type of enhancements being able to be traded and sold to other players.
That changes nothing about what I said.

The inability to use something won in a gamble pack was considered a problem by the devs.

This was communicated to us in the context of discussing the RMT aspect of making them tradeable.

The fact that you don't have a problem with the RMT part is irrelevant, as it was only the topic under discussion when the devs commented on and acknowledged the idea that getting a prize your could not use would be a problem.

I don't care about RMT either, i was simply offering context.

If you noticed Lucky pointed out I was mistaken and I acknowledged my error and implied it has given me something new to consider tho I'm not sure it will change my mind about the IO's that are account bound.

I need some clarification from your last post. How exactly do you mean RMT? I ask because I'm am dead set against RMT sites and in my mind RMT means those thieving pancakes.

If you mean it as micro-transactions, well I'm not in favor of them, but I'm a realist, I accept that when a game goes F2P they become a part of life. However there's very little I choose to spend extra money on.

He could do what I did. Sell them to someone that uses it.

Trading and selling trading cards? Crazy talk.

You're probably right, and selling stuff here would probably never work. We'd need something like a market where you could sell AT IO's to other players on any server or faction. Then you'd need to find players willing to buy them.

Madness.

My only problem was not being able to use reward merits to buy ATOs as a Premium player, but that seems to be getting rectified in a few days, I think...

edit: well damn...that'll learn me to click a link and not check the post dates...

The packs aren't worthless to just f2p players. They're also worthless to every premium that has spent less than ~$60 (without market access ATO's are useless) which is pretty funny. The packs are there to entice vip's and long time players to spend even more money than they already have. Just what it is.

The paragon market does a terrible job of enticing premiums to buy stuff.

News flash. F2P players never spend a dime on the game so everything in the market is useless to them. DERP! They also can't buy

Only Prems and VIP's can use the items in super packs.

ROFMAO!

Reward Merits - Useless. No Prem ever uses merits
Resurrection temp powers - Useless. Prem characters never die.
Enhancement Unslotters - Useless. No Prem ever wants to remove an enhancement without burning an entire respec.
Inspirations - Useless. No Prem ever wants powerful buffs that help themselves and their teammates.
Enhancement Boosters - Useless. No Prem ever wants more powerful enhancements.
Catalysts - Useless. No Prem would want to enhance an ATO.
ATO's - Useless. No Prem would want to use ATO's or sell them on the market for millions of Inf.
Costume pieces - Useless. Everyone knows Prems like running around in the default generic costume.

Windfall temp power- Useless. No Prem wants a 25% increase on the influence they earn.
Prestige Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 50% Prestige boost.
XP Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 25% boost to the experience they earn.
Experienced temp power - Useless. No Prem wants to be able to claim half a level of Patrol XP.

Prems hate getting extra Inf, Prestige, and Exp so much that they have universally agreed that they are boycotting the Double XP weekend on the 16th because if they participated they'd be getting double the Inf, Prestige, and Exp they normally get.

Finally there's the Black Wolf non combat pet. Absolutely useless, and frelling uber rare to boot. Not one Prem or VIP has ever said that they wanted that stupid thing.

Oh and by the way, the Market License is only $2 dollars. Prem's don't "have" to spend $60 bucks to use it.

Super Packs cost 80 points ($1) for one and 1440 points ($18) for 24. That's hardly "never spend a dime."

While true, considering they just did spend $1 or more, requiring another $2 to make that first expenditure fully useful seems poor customer relations. Personally, I don't think the addition $2 should be necessary.

And frankly, I could do without the ROFMAO!, as that comes across as mocking the poster, and their opinions. Let's not throw any more gas on the fire, eh?

If you spent any money on the game, you're no longer a F2Per, you're a Premium player. And even if you somehow got GIFTED a pack, you could still use most of what you get.

If you hadn't noticed the person I was quoting is acknowledging a distinction between F2P and Prem accounts. The poster means F2P = Freem.

The distinction between Free and Prem accounts is the only fact correct in that persons post. The rest is just that persons biased opinion.

Well to be perfectly honest it was intended to come across as mocking so I won't apologize for it, but out of respect for you I will attempt to reign it in. Being a self admitted jerk it can get away from me cuz it's instinctive.

Resurrection temp powers - Useless. Prem characters never die. (Carry an awaken or lower the difficulty if dying is an issue which considering how easy baseline no boss, -1 is I doubt it will be)
Enhancement Unslotters - Useless. No Prem ever wants to remove an enhancement without burning an entire respec. (Premiums don't have access to IO's without paying for it. You can simply buy an SO and put it over whatever you want cheaply so this is worthless)
Inspirations - Useless. No Prem ever wants powerful buffs that help themselves and their teammates. (A buff that isn't needed to complete any of the content in the game, especially considering that premiums don't have access to iTrials and will have incarnates in their own teams steamrolling everything)
Enhancement Boosters - Useless. No Prem ever wants more powerful enhancements. (Gotta buff those SO's amirite? Lol, they don't work on attuned enhancements from the store which is what I think premiums will tend to have so they're worthless)
Catalysts - Useless. No Prem would want to enhance an ATO. (When the only way to get an ATO as a Premium is the Super Pack lottery for a chance to get the one for your AT mixed in with some other worthless garbage? No where near worth it)
ATO's - Useless. No Prem would want to use ATO's or sell them on the market for millions of Inf. (What can premiums buy with that Inf without IO access? Nothing)
Costume pieces - Useless. Everyone knows Prems like running around in the default generic costume. (Only worth it if the costume pieces in the packs fit one of the concepts of your characters, for me they don't)

Windfall temp power- Useless. No Prem wants a 25% increase on the influence they earn. (You don't earn enough influence from defeating enemies for it to be useful, if you want Inf you play the market. A small increase to a pathetic influence gain isn't useful)
Prestige Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 50% Prestige boost. (This might actually be useful for 1 man premium guilds)
XP Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 25% boost to the experience they earn. (Premiums can't participate in the current endgame (iTrials) so why would they rush to get there? this isn't useful)
Experienced temp power - Useless. No Prem wants to be able to claim half a level of Patrol XP. (Same as above)

(A tiny chance at a pet mixed in with a bunch of things people won't like, and hell I don't personally see why anyone cares for it.)

Thank you for that. Honestly, I was a jerk to someone else on these forums a while back, and now I regret it. So I'm trying to behave better myself.

No, I think in this particular discussion, the difference between "can't" and "won't" is a valid point to make.

You mean Large Inspirations, Single Origin Enhancements, and Archetype Enhancements are all nothing? No Freem or Prem ever uses them, even tho they can all be bought with Reward Merits and none of them requires an IO lisense?

And are you actually going to try to argue that no Prem player has unlocked the Lifetime Access to the Invention System Paragon Reward? You really don't have a clue as to how many players are 4, 5, 6 year vets that dropped to Prem to save some money.

Quote:
You're smart.
No. I'm just more familiar with the game mechanics than you are.

Quote:
Carry an awaken or lower the difficulty if dying is an issue which considering how easy baseline no boss, -1 is I doubt it will be.
Of course no Free or Prem has ever joined another persons team/trial and didn't have control of the mission difficulty, and has never been in a situation where they needed more "Awakens" than they were carrying, or been on a team that didn't have an Emp or someone with the Medicine pool. And no Free or Prem player has ever refused to hit the Hospital just because it was on the other side of the zone or in another zone altogether and it would take too long to get back to the mission.

Nope all Prem players are hardcore soloists.

Quote:
Premiums don't have access to IO's without paying for it. You can simply buy an SO and put it over whatever you want cheaply so this is worthless
Are you sure that Prem players are all experts at designing builds and never make mistakes. Also are you certain that the devs have never changed the way a power works so it becomes necessary to alter the enhancements that are slotted in it.

And you know for a fact that no Prem players have unlocked the Lifetime Access to the Invention System Paragon Reward. Not one had an account active long enough prior to Freedom launching to unlock that reward. Riiight.

Quote:

You obviously have never been up against an AV, a GM, or in a PvP zone. None of which require access to Itrials and Incarnate content. You also seem to be completely unaware of how many players take pride in soloing AV's and GM's, and they do it by popping inspirations.

Quote:

You seem awfully certain there are no Prem players that have unlocked the Lifetime Access to the Invention System Paragon Reward.

Quote:

And there are plenty of Prems that do want those costume pieces.

Quote:

That's only your opinion much like nearly everything else you have said.

Quote:

Do you honestly think there are no SG's with multiple Prem players that would ever want to earn prestige faster.

Quote:
Premiums can't participate in the current endgame (iTrials) so why would they rush to get there? this isn't useful
I gotta ask, have you ever actually played this game? Cuz I find it hard to believe that you've never seen Prems running back to back DfB's, TF's, Farms, etc in order to level up as fast as possible.

Quote:
A tiny chance at a pet mixed in with a bunch of things I personally don't like but other people value, and hell I don't personally see why anyone cares for it.
And yet there are countless posts where both Prems and VIP's have been complaining about how hard it is to get the wolf.

Uhm Agge I'm not disputing semantics with Kimuki, I'm disputing his mistaken belief that every Prem player shares his opinions about the items in the Super Packs.

I know this thread is way old but I gotta add something... and I fkd up this quote so it's gonna be ugly...but i'm kinda drunk and lazxy.

"You mean Large Inspirations, Single Origin Enhancements, and Archetype Enhancements are all nothing?"

Unless something was changed recentgly ATOs were vip onboly as for trading merits for. Er you had to be vip to trades ATOs for mertits...other way arouynd. You get. it.

Nothing was changed recently, but you neglected the possibility that your assumptions are incomplete and/or wrong.
