  1. The most successful free to play games are successful because they provide incentive for brand new players that don't want to commit to monthly payments into spending money. CoH isn't built to attract brand new players into becoming premiums or spending money. The only people the current CoH model attracts is new potential subscribers. For a f2p game this hurts it.

I can only assume that this is a conscious decision by the developers because its really obvious why this is the case with the Paragon Market.

Resurrection temp powers - Useless. Prem characters never die. (Carry an awaken or lower the difficulty if dying is an issue which considering how easy baseline no boss, -1 is I doubt it will be)
Enhancement Unslotters - Useless. No Prem ever wants to remove an enhancement without burning an entire respec. (Premiums don't have access to IO's without paying for it. You can simply buy an SO and put it over whatever you want cheaply so this is worthless)
Inspirations - Useless. No Prem ever wants powerful buffs that help themselves and their teammates. (A buff that isn't needed to complete any of the content in the game, especially considering that premiums don't have access to iTrials and will have incarnates in their own teams steamrolling everything)
Enhancement Boosters - Useless. No Prem ever wants more powerful enhancements. (Gotta buff those SO's amirite? Lol, they don't work on attuned enhancements from the store which is what I think premiums will tend to have so they're worthless)
Catalysts - Useless. No Prem would want to enhance an ATO. (When the only way to get an ATO as a Premium is the Super Pack lottery for a chance to get the one for your AT mixed in with some other worthless garbage? No where near worth it)
ATO's - Useless. No Prem would want to use ATO's or sell them on the market for millions of Inf. (What can premiums buy with that Inf without IO access? Nothing)
Costume pieces - Useless. Everyone knows Prems like running around in the default generic costume. (Only worth it if the costume pieces in the packs fit one of the concepts of your characters, for me they don't)

Windfall temp power- Useless. No Prem wants a 25% increase on the influence they earn. (You don't earn enough influence from defeating enemies for it to be useful, if you want Inf you play the market. A small increase to a pathetic influence gain isn't useful)
Prestige Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 50% Prestige boost. (This might actually be useful for 1 man premium guilds)
XP Booster - Useless. No Prem wants a 25% boost to the experience they earn. (Premiums can't participate in the current endgame (iTrials) so why would they rush to get there? this isn't useful)
Experienced temp power - Useless. No Prem wants to be able to claim half a level of Patrol XP. (Same as above)

Prems hate getting extra Inf, Prestige, and Exp so much that they have universally agreed that they are boycotting the Double XP weekend on the 16th because if they participated they'd be getting double the Inf, Prestige, and Exp they normally get.

Finally there's the Black Wolf non combat pet. Absolutely useless, and frelling uber rare to boot. Not one Prem or VIP has ever said that they wanted that stupid thing. (A tiny chance at a pet mixed in with a bunch of things people won't like, and hell I don't personally see why anyone cares for it.)

Oh and by the way, the Market License is only $2 dollars. Prem's don't "have" to spend $60 bucks to use it.
    ROFMAO! indeed.
  3. The packs aren't worthless to just f2p players. They're also worthless to every premium that has spent less than ~$60 (without market access ATO's are useless) which is pretty funny. The packs are there to entice vip's and long time players to spend even more money than they already have. Just what it is.

The paragon market does a terrible job of enticing premiums to buy stuff.
