Now that fandom has (hopefully) run Lucas out of the busines of destroying classics and our childhood memories- Bay NEEDS to be the next target.. truly.. this is the villain Prime should be trying to stop, NOT Megatron...

Sometimes my fellow geeks, I'm afraid to be in the same room with you.

There's a good reason the Bayformers made lots of money, some people's childhood weren't defined by G1, and for many kids, Bayformers were their first Transformers and they liked it.

No, making a lot of money doesn't make it good.

Yes, making a lot of money means you should make more and probably keep the guy on who did a great job of making you this money.

By fresh take I presume he means a deep and thoughtfully plotted action movie involving the tragic character of Megatron, who is doomed to fail in his quest for achieving freedom for his fellow Decepticons from Autobot oppression due to his own hubris.

Oh, way, its still Bay...Megatron will come back as OMEGACRON and proceed to blow up Chicago again while some other pasty whiny kid acts like Shia Labouf.

Get real! This is Bay we're talking about.

With Bay, you get:

  • Lots of military hardware
  • Explosions
  • More explosions
  • A chase scene or three
  • BaySPLOSIONS!
  • Eye candy (both the CG and female persuasions).
  • Oh, did I mention explosions?

Second highest grossing film of 2011, not suprised to hear another sequal is coming.

And while I hope for better/more plot, I'm still going to be in theatre opening night watching it

This! I watch a lot of the Transformers and the Beast Wars was a Fav of mine along with G1. Bay kinda Ruined it, Note I'm 21(22 in 4 months) yet i feel 30 knowing stuff 'before my time'.

This. The movies themselves weren't that bad, although there were parts that were completely groan worthy and Car Car Binks was annoying. But G1 wasn't all that great, either, for it's own reasons. I probably won't see this new movie, though, considering I haven't seen the third Transformers yet. Really want too, though. Love Shockwave.

G1 always holds a special place for me, but Beast Wars was for me the best of the cartoon series. Beast Machines starting getting a bit too mystical and I was never that keen on techno-organic Cybertron.

Armada/Energon/Cybertron I have filed under the WSNSOT cataegory: We Shall Not Speak of Them.

I liked the more honor/heroic version of Starscream myself. But then Starscream was always my favorite. Though I wished the G1 cartoon played him less cowardly than some of his other appeances.

With you on that too. They had ok looks but i could not follow the story whats so ever. I'm kinda a lore 'junkie' A good book or a good movie or a good story arc in CoH makes me happy.

Loved the Beast Wars series! Beast Machines?! Not so much....




But to the OP...


I really liked the first Transformers movie.

#2 was just bad with the shaky-hand cam and all the toilet/trashy humor (and stereotypes).

#3 was just....bad...plothole/story wise...

Oh at least Shia LeBouf is gone from the series so that's always good! Sorry just don't like the actor.
