I bought 2 24 packs worth of points and I got nearly 25 X 250 merits alone. (That doesn't count the ATO's I got). Thus, I can convert 400 merits into an ATO even though there is a 4 day cooldown you can do it on any character since it isn't account lockout but just a character.
I managed to acquire a whole brute set and convert all the rest of my merits into selling other ATO's like the Brute ones for 500 mill.
Essentially I converted around 40 US dollars into about 10 billion influence.

That said, I expect prices will be low for a while, as the people who care about super packs buy a bunch for the costume pieces and flood the market with all the ATOs they randomly obtain and don't want. Once that initial rush slows down, I'd guess that most ATO purchases will come from merits... but like I said, it's difficult to say for now with any degree of certainty. Time will tell.
I think it's nice that they can be acquired with reward merits but not alignment merits, so it's actually easier to get them on Vigilantes and Rogues than Heroes or Villains. Which, given how much more value 1 alignment merit has than 60 reward merits, is a good change.
Since I can't seem to find this, what's the availability of the Catalysts to upgrade ATOs to superior outside of super packs?

Now, if they'd give vigilantes missions in the vein of Rogues, we'd be set! Or maybe it's just me who loves the Rogue missions but hate not being able to end the SG base while a rogue.

Down from 200 million per ATIO this morning to around 50 million on some of them.

Testing out the stalker +hide proc atm..seems super cool. Does anyone know if those kind of ones (the +hide, dam, etc) work via a single 20% chance per use, or if putting them in aoes would give them multiple chances to proc?

Oh, they're not actually IOs, more like HOs? then I guess they work regardless. you can't buy them with reward merits or astral merits without currently being a VIP subscriber and they have a 4-day cooldown timer on each purchase, so that's sorta ehhh
glad the stalker changes are going in or they would've been balancing the gimpy stalker AT around a required IO proc. If that works in an AOE and checks on each enemy that gets hit instead of just a single chance on activation then slotting it into something like KM's Burst that would be good times good times, having a 100% area crit from hide that could almost guarantee a placate...ha.
ATOs work no matter if you're a level 1 Preem or a ViP. They are not tied to the Invention System.
