Devs: Thanks for the Valentine Missions

I know that not everyone is a Lorehound like me, but I wanted to publicly give the Devs kudos for the Valentine's Day missions.

I am enjoying the bits of game lore tossed in with the humor.

I don't always agree with everything that's done in the game storywise, but I wanted to say that I am really enjoying these.

To Positron from U'Kon Gr'ai...
Valentine Misdelivery

The city needs the best. That includes you, Kadmon. What's this?

Blue Steel reads the message on your phone and his mouth draws into an even finer line.

U'Kon is in for a surprise, Kadmon. Threat scanners can't read me, because I don't make threats... I make promises.

That is all.

I'm especially fond of Sally's sentiments. For once there don't appear to be any lore errors in the new content!

Admittedly, I think it would be nice if there were a Fusionette/Faultline wedding event, similar to the Manticore/Psyche one from a few years back. What can I say? I'm a big softie sometimes

I appear to be severely missing something and cannot unlock the Valentines delivery missions somehow. It makes me feel cheated. And angsty.

You need to complete either Ganymede's arc, or Scratch's arc, then one of them will send you to DJ Zero.

How about this? Make the entire wedding into an uber-huge story arc...

(This is a slight reworking of an idea I'd had like 4 years ago back when Manti and Psyche got married)

1) At least two missions sending you to all the different Tailors to find the right outfit (first in your size, and then in stock)
2) Stopping a jewelry store from being robbed (which just happens to be the one where the happy couple bought their rings, which are now stolen, oh no!)
3) Track down and beat the snot out of whoever stole the rings
4) The Carnival of Shadows has bought all the good shoes for women, so go stomp on 40 of them until you find a CoS chick with the right size feet and swipe her shoes
5) Someone's abducted the officiant... go save that poor sap
6) Go fight certain groups to collect certain types of salvage to invent 'the perfect wedding gift'
7) Oh crud, now the bride and groom have gone off to fight danger, go bail them out so they can get to the wedding
8) Timed mish to get to the wedding on time, with at least five groups out to stop you, and no travel powers work (because isn't that always the world works?)

The possibilities are endless...

The Valentine's deliveries have given me much greater respect for the greatest playa in all of Paragon City: Synapse. He's too goshdarn adorkable.

And who else went to deliver the Valentine's to Fusionette, saw it was at the transit, and fired up all their armors before going in?

These have been the best delivery missions ever.

Except for the continued use of Tarikoss as the go to guy for all magical lore Redside. And his bizzare, "good sir, I'd love to help you!" attitude.

Seriously, to quote his own strike force: "The one you call Virgil Tarikoss is known to me as Tarikoss the Vigilant, a guardian of balance and an ally of the good and the just."

The guy is like a lazy version of the Punisher, trying to send villains to their death to make the world a better place. He was vigilante before vigilante was an alignment. Unfortunately he's also the only magical villain contact the Dev team can remember. Peter Themari would have been a much better choice if it had to be a Cap contact.

Just wait until you find a Valentine from yourself.

These new missions are great fun and I really enjoyed them on my main, was a little disappointed to see that Preatorian characters can't do them though, as they don't have a tips tab for the delivery missions and aren't considered heroes or villains

Whoa whoa whoa there, what do you think this is? Issue 2? We don't get arcs that long anymore! And hunt missions are kinda out of style

Call it nostalgia. Some of us DO have attention spans longer than Fusionette's, you know. :P

Actually, I'm hoping for the opposite. I want the devs to break them up. I mean, come on. Jim's girlfriend gets kidnapped and is in mortal danger, so he... stands there waiting for a hero to come by and rescue her?

Oh, hells no. She deserves someone a lot better. Can you imagine when they're 80 years old? "Honey, I've fallen and I think I might have broken my hip!" "Wow, that sucks, sweetie pie. I'll just walk outside and wait around for a while. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will stop who can call 911 for you."

What an angsty jerk.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

These are great and there are enough characters in both cities to keep this happening for the foreseeable future.

Great work devs!

My enjoyment of them is majorly impacted by getting tips to the wrong side.

Trying to get the badges on my villian is a pain in the rear. Having to earn then drop a dozen bad tips before getting one I can actually go to the zone for is crap design.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

She didn't get kidnapped. She offered to go look in a place that had Lost in it for him, and she was taking too long to check back in, so he got help. At the time this occurred, he was worried about his powers going out of control like his father's had years earlier. You get the mission standing in the results of said power meltdown. The fact that a hero happens past enables him to ask for help. By the next time we encounter him after the Faultline arcs, he's following her directly into these near-suicidal situations without a second thought. So, yes, based on the first encounter we have with him, you are exactly right. Based on the character progression, however, he becomes someone a lot better.

So yeah, my original point still stands.
