Fusionette vs Flambeaux
I'll put 1,000,000 inf on Fusionette right now.
Although she's a bit of a ditz, and a bit prone to getting captured, once you get her free, she's a more than worthy ally.
She has the bonus of knockback. Flambeaux cant shoot if she can't stand (a way I've beaten her more than once.) She also has the bonus of mobility (Has anyone seem Flambeaux fly? I don't think I have.)
I'm discounting allies since we know Flambeaux hangs out with Freaks but, if we did allow them in Fusionette would have another edge. Lets just look at her friends list shall we?
Faultline (Jim Temblor, stone tank)
Penny Yin (most powerful psychic in the game universe and the person the Clockwork King has a crush on)
Doc Delilah (SS/Inv tank)
We could also make allowances for her Vanguard membership so......
Again, 1,000,000 on Fusionette. Any takers?

My bet is on Fusionette.
Fusionette has more of a "can-do" attitude even when she can't really, so I expect that she'd put more gusto into the fight.
While I haven't done many tips to meet Flambeaux, I've picked up the impression that she has a defeatist attitude and thus I expect her to lack follow through.

She's not really a defeatist. But she's only trying to win because it'll make her look better.

What's a little depressing is that if suddenly a large swath of the population of random schmoes got superpowers like apparently they have in Paragon City, a vast majority of them would probably be just like Flambeaux.
I'll cast my lot with Fusionette any day, it's not even close.

I think Fusionette is a little more competent in an actual fight, but as a character, as a ditzy, inept heroine turned ditzy, inept villain who turns to villainy for ditzy and inept reasons, I find Flambeaux more entertaining

Honestly this is unfair, but the fact that people treat it as fair is kinda funny...
Fusionette is atomic powered, flying, veteran at this point... She was a new hero back in Faultline. That was six years ago. She's now a veteran in vanguard, which she joined a year later. So she's been fighting the Rikti at lvl50 for 5 years now.
Flambaeux on the other hand is a new hero that was just introduced to us earlier this year and at best is a loner that does high level street crime...
I'd say that Fusionette is over confident and often is the cause of her problems... That is extremely dangerous, especially with her being in Vanguard.
While Flambaeux in my opinion is likely someone with low self-esteem and is lonely. Her "positive" and "ditzy" attitude is likely a false personality that she puts on because Heroes are like that and also that is what a lot of people do to try to get people to like them. The fact that there are so many people that don't like her, apparently, only makes it worse and I'd predict that she's depressed in reality because what ca she do if she is trying so hard to be someone they like and it's not working...
I'd like to see a team up with the two of them because they'd likely work together really well... It would also be interesting if Flambaeux was revealed to look up to Fusionette, Fusionette becomes a villain and then it pulls Flambaeux up through her reacting to her hero falling like that... or you can have Flambaeux become a villain because of how much people don't like her taking the attitude "if my effort isn't appreciated I might as well do the opposite"
Whom ever wins... the surrounding 10 square miles of the city would lose.

As a character, I prefer Flambeaux for being entertaining. Now who'd win in a fight? Fusionette.

Fusionette all the way.
Why? Because she's likeable. Yes, she's a klutz a bit of a ditz but she holds her own, kicks the Rikti around a fair bit and actually manages to be annoying and charming at the same time. That's a tough balancing act so my hat off to the writers.
Bimbeaux is just flat out annoying. The only time she makes me smile is when I'm pasting her to the floor in tip missions.
EDIT: And Faultline is over five years old!? Jeez, now I do feel like I've been playing for a long time!

In a fight, 'nette would kick the teeth out of Flambeaux. Especially if Flambeaux is preventing her from getting donuts.
Best character? Fusionette, of course! Not only she has the "can do" attitude, she's also a *fun* character with great writing ("over there is my BOYFRIEND, the one who controls EARTHQUAKES") and who doesn't even let the 4th wall stand in the way ("don't look at me that way, we HAD to be in this mission!" "Oops, mistell").
She's an overcaffeinated ball of charm and possibly my favorite character in the whole damn game. Those who know what character is in my current avatar would probably find a few parallels between the two.
More Fusionette, please!

Flambeaux has been levelling up all that time and never makes it any further than the c-list. I mean, she's Blast Furnace's arch-nemesis, which is just embarassing for both of them.

Also, you would think she'd get more mileage out of having been wandering around in Manticore's Mansion before she turned evil. Instead she's kind of forgotten all about it. That's terribly convenient, don't you think? It's almost like Manticore is a secret-obsessed vigilante married to one of the world's most powerful psychics, or something.

So if you wanna go by introduction, Flambeaux's been a hero for longer, and failing a lot longer.
Edit: also, adding another vote for Fusionette.

Edit: Dammit, ninja'd.
At least I can claim a point for accuracy on the issue number as, although CoV released with Issue 6, mayhem missions weren't added until Issue 7.
Main Hero: Mazey - level 50 + 1 fire/fire/fire blaster.
Main Villain: Chained Bot - level 50 + 1 Robot/FF Mastermind.
BattleEngine - "And the prize for the most level headed response ever goes to Mazey"
If we're doing a battle of the nitwits, can we throw Boobcat in there?
Eva Destruction AR/Fire/Munitions Blaster
Darkfire Avenger DM/SD/Body Scrapper
Arc ID#161629 Freaks, Geeks, and Men in Black
Arc ID#431270 Until the End of the World
Fusionette would win the fight I have no doubt.
I do feel a little bad for Flambeaux now that I've been part of the same SG as she was....
