Have we figured out who the Letter writer is?

They don't really look very similar, or talk in the same way

Based purely on what's in the LIVE version of the game they do write/talk in a similar style. And we don't know what spoiler person looks like. Not that I really think they're the same person.

Anyway, the Center being the LW would make for a better storyline. I know you'll disagree with that since you don't like "grey area" morality issues.

We do if we're playing on the Beta server

GG's spoiler is correct.

Which honestly didn't have the shock value that I was expecting the reveal to have.

It's a Midnighter, a very powerful one.

Always thought it was Requiem since he's been around forever, was connected to the Nictus (Cimerora) and the Council/5th Column shenanigans.

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

One of the books you can read in the Midnighter Club tells you more about them.

I did specify the live server. Anyway, the Center would have been a more interesting choice. Mr. Spoiler is a rather more obvious choice that a lot of people have been assuming was the LW, so his reveal isn't much of a surprise. At least it's not future 'you.' That would have been a big shark jump.

And they DO need to do something with the Center. Anyone who grabbed as much power as he did must have SOME plan on what do with it.

It is more than a little disappointing that it wasn't someone who was already in the game though. At least there were numerous references in the lore, but it still feels anticlimactic.

Our version features in one of the DA stroy arcs - along with Requiem - they have a conversation

lol, investigating via paragon wiki search has just NOW enlightened me to the fact that you can actually do that. And yes, I was around when the Midnighter issue was released, so yes, I was just that ignorant. Sheesh, I've ran around that place so many times looking around at stuff and never found any of those! lol

I suppose I haven't been following the Letter Writer speculation much, but since I don't remember reading any speculation that actually got it correct, I'd hardly call it an "obvious" choice. Looking back on the clues now that I know the answer makes me wonder why I didn't suspect him earlier, but at the same time he's never really been foremost on people's minds. I suppose the main thing is that as a character who has never made an in-game appearance before, his exposure is limited to the people who actually read the background stuff.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

He's been one of the most frequent suggestions for the letter writer

Agreed that people who don't really dig into the background lore are not going to be familiar with Mr. Spoiler. Non-lore obsessed players will probably find his reveal a let down since chances are they've never heard of him. Well, some will. Most people don't care enough about lore to be interested in the Letter Writer.

Damn knew I shouldn't have read this thread, now I know who it is.

BTW those that have huge screens, 3 big spoiler words in big font don't cover it. Even as fast as my mouse wheel can scroll, I still caught a glimpse.

Suppose I will just have to be satisfied that I don't know who kills Statesman yet.

Seriously though is leaking **** from beta not frowned upon anymore?, if not you might as well copy and paste beta and splash it all over All Access.

LOL November 28th 2007 and this is how I find out, you couldn't have written it better devs.

Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.

Yeah, go figure, in a thread titled "Have we figured out who the Letter writer is?"... What, did you expect the answer to be a resounding no?

I guess that answers my previous question.

It's Darrin Wade and company.

Not since the non-disclosure agreements stopped coming around it hasn't been. Welcome to VIP Subscriber Beta!

I figured it would be discussed, like most forums are, not a 100% fact splashed in for good measure

Then whats the point of a Beta section of the forum?

A place where freeloaders can't cram up discussions with requests for more free stuff that they don't have to pay for. The beta program in general was repurposed as a sort of thank-you for paying subscribers.
