Do you solo bosses?
I generally do, except at low levels and/or while playing a squishy that doesn't solo well. I've also sometimes turned them off when playing characters with poor single-target damage, because although I could defeat them, it was merely slow and annoying to do so, not challenging nor interesting.
Never turn it off. Wouldn't feel like a hero if I did.

Once I get past a certain level I usually do... What that level is varies depending on who I'm playing, though. It was fairly late for my Peacebringers, for instance, but tends to be earlier on for my scraps and brutes.
I usually turn them off for everyone when I'm speed-running Tip missions.

So far I've turned on bosses for everything I've played. No AVs though. But depending on the toon I will drop it to -1 lvl.
To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, "Bosses are fun from level one!"
I turn on bosses as soon as I get status protection.
Originally, there was no option to turn bosses into lieutenants, so I made sure my characters were all well capable of handling bosses from level 5 on. I've gotten a bit lax on that since the boss -> lt feature came along. Certainly most of my characters could deal with the bosses, but there are so many bosses in missions that I decided to leave the feature on. It just makes the game flow better for me with the bosses turned off. I considered turning them back on for a few of my characters, especially my Mind/Energy Dominator (who makes that lieutenant version trivial in nearly all cases), but I just never got around to it.
I solo'd a boss once and he was an easybeat. He fired me and it took ages to get a new job

I keep my bosses turned off until level 37, when I buy my first set of Common Inventions. Before this, fading enhancements and lack of slots makes bosses a pain occasionally and an irritation a lot of the time. After this, my character is generally strong enough to where bosses are a welcome challenge, as opposed to an unwanted problem.
My reason for turning bosses off at all stems back to a couple of years ago when I tried to play at a difficulty of -1x3. Sadly, this put my enemies at level 49 when my character was 50, thus not earning me Incarnate Shards, and after everyone and their grandma took turns to browbeat me into giving up, I simply swapped back to +0x2 (an EASIER difficulty), but left bosses off. The reason I turned them off to begin with was at the time when I fought at -1x3, I was playing Blasters, and this difficulty has the tendency to spawn multiple bosses at the same time. Before you laugh, I spent a whole mission fighting spawns of one Dark Ring Mistress and one Master Illusionist before I decided to screw that nonsense and turn them off.
These days, I solo bosses only after I'm confident I can beat them.

I'll only leave them on for some of my tankers, generally speaking.

I do!
I use an exclamation mark because I often find Boss fights to be the most fun.
Obviously, it all varies greatly depending on what enemy group, what AT, powers and level you are playing with, but I can't really think of any times that I've wanted to turn bosses off (maybe for Master Illusionists on some characters, hehe).
I solo mostly as a blaster and just love duking it out with a boss.
I can certainly see how some would enjoy turning it off, so I'm not holding my nose up at anyone! Especially some of the support ATs, which I seem to rarely play... Or just for speed and more fun in taking out more enemies more quickly (I can see how that is very fun).
I most love street sweeping and hunting +1/+2 Bosses.
One of my fondest memories of my early CoH playing days was when Electric-Knight was still a low level Elec/Elec Blaster... And I got into a great, long, back and forth battle with a boss in one of the tunnels in... Atlas Park, I think... pretty sure it was a Bone Daddy... We sent each other back and forth across the street, cars driving by, sometimes clipping us, I nearly lost, I thought I had him... then I didn't, I missed... He ran... I chased... he regenerated some health... he almost got me... but I managed to knock him into next week with a sliver of health left! Thus began my love of the thrill of playing as a Blaster!
And I still solo as E-K all the time and always look forward to fighting the bosses. Of course, now they are usually in electrical cages, watching me pummel them... but that's payback for me going all these years without Mez Protection!!! Carry some Break Frees, punks!!

I turn on bosses as soon as possible, because it's just not City of Heroes without them. That means as soon as I get status protection for melee, and usually level 12 for squishies, sometimes earlier. Having the occasionalhard target that challenges you is important for me to enjoy the game, because jus trampling everytyhing is really tedious in short order.
I tend to kick bosses on around level 10ish... it's around then I feel like I have a solid selection of abilities for my AT and feel comfortable handling them.

For my melee characters bosses are on. For all my characters after I get IOs, bosses are on. For squishies, when I solo, I don't normally do bosses until late in their heroic careers with the exception of trollers & doms.
I do not do regular missions anymore - only TIP, Street Hunting and AE.
For Tip and AE, bosses are turned off. It speeds up the mission a bit and I don't like dealing with bosses in a closed setting.
But, in Street Hunting where the switch is irrelevant, I love finding bosses and dealing with them in the more open environment. My DM/WP Brutes can handle +3 to +5 in the street, and all the other AT's I play can handle most +1 or +2.
If I ever do decide to turn the switch on for bosses in missions, I know what each of my characters is capable of handling.
Usually I have bosses on. Sometimes I want to feel like a badass, and set myself to -1/x8/no bosses for some carnage. It is quite fun actually, as some my characters can take out an entire group in two powers. My goal, however, is to play 4/8/bosses/AVs on most of my "uber" characters.

Bosses get activated for me at level 12 on all AT's.
Once I get DO's... they don't stand a chance.

Heck, once the characters start getting up towards 40, it seems like every other enemy has a mez, boss or not, and regardless of my Defense or how debuffed they are the mez will land and the Doom Cascade will commence. Which is why I began to hate playing my Fire/Rad Controller.

Hehe...
Whats mez protection?
Soloing mainly Blasters all these years, I've gotten very used to who uses what mez and how best to avoid/take it.
Truth be told, the 30-35 range... on some toons I actually turn them back off for a bit. That range is loaded with mez heavy bosses it seems.

It depends on the character and the level. I almost always turn them on by 22 and SOs. I still turn them off though when I'm planning on rushing through an arc to get to the end or a bunch of tips.
Inherent Stamina has been a huge help with low level bosses; on many characters what let bosses kill them was simply running out of endurance.
Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
I usually play with a small group.
This group 'mostly' consists of people who like what they consider a 'challenge'.
To this end, from level 6ish on.. my settings are set at +2 x6 to x8.
We usually do 'okay' since it isn't about how many missions we can do but more the chaos theory in action
Now.. for certain people I will 'accidentally' bump it up to +4.
Then blame it on their inability to handle a simple couple of bosses who might be considered a challenge.
Then when soloing I will tend to forget the settings until I see the first mob....
After sobbing like a small child.. I will attempt to clear the mission or after the umpteenth time from the hospital reset to lower haha.
I have never really thought in all these years of playing to lower the bosses to LT's. Just never occurred to me to do so.
Perhaps a new thought will occur haha.

I solo AVs.
Well... okay, not that often. But most of what I play are scrappers and brutes, so bosses are those things that take more than two hits to kill. That's all.

I usually turn bosses on once I finally realize that they're turned off. I still haven't gotten used to them being off by default.

@Inquisitor
I have mine turned to Lt. I am planning on switching them back to bosses. At low levels, bosses are a huge pain. But my characters are all 20+ now and I find that I miss having the mission end being something special. An lt at the end is usually easier than earlier spawns.
