You know what? I'm not either.

I didn't care much about the male/female differences until I was in the market looking at what the guys got that my female characters would be more likely to wear and couldn't have. But I refused to get down about it because I knew there was a pistol with a blade on it, and that is what I wanted - even if I didn't get anything else in the set.... and it has frakkin' stupid horns on it! There are stupid steer-like horns coming out of cool bladed pistol! I cannot use that for anything.

Did not buy it. did not buy any of it. sad now, first pack I will skip entirely.

Pretty much all of the above. As a concept this pack should have been a no brainer. The start of it has some good stuff. Good first round of work, but badly needing edits indicated in that seemingly dead-to-the-devs feedback thread.

I've bought every single costume item up till this point. Was planning on just biting the bullet. Went into game on live and poked around on the couple characters I *might* have used some of these items with an it just confirmed to me: "I don't need this."

So a hearty *golf clap* to the chain of command that let this go to live as such. You're teaching at least one chronic costume purchaser how to show restraint when it comes to impulse buys.

If fixes come along to this pack, post release, including chaps for females & holsters at the very least, I'll go back and pick it up. But as it is now? Good idea. Nice individual parts from a myopic point of view. But taken as a whole within what exists already in the CC and what doesn't: disappointing in its entirety.

Aside from being disappointed by the lack of the jacket and pants for females, I was disappointed that there was no appropriate dress bottom to go with the female costume set. It looked like it needed something ruffly.

I'm disappointed that the male boots only seem to exist with pants.

I'm disappointed in the lack of a western rifle.

I'm disappointed by the ugly pistols.

Horns on a gun? I feel like I'm being trolled.

Oh, and pretinting is BS.

Sadly, if you are, it is by our own Dev team.

What happened to the joy of being able to mix and match pieces. I'd love to have these guns for tech outfits, or a cool Bond/action guy or.... nope, horns. Goes with the Texas Roadhouse character or none. bleh.

I seems like all this pre-tinting nonsense started happening when Jay mysteriously became silent and his name stopped being mentioned in conjunction with any costumes.

Does anyone know if indeed he has actually left and when? If Jay has gone it was definitely with very little fanfare. Which is surprising considering how long he was in charge of costumes and was with the game.

If Jay is not leading the charge then someone needs to start looking real hard at the direction costumes have started to head to.

Just took a look at the pieces in the tailor to see if some of the bugs were at least worked out.

Nope!

The hair bows for females are still showing up as transparent in the tailor. Which really screws with them since only the veil part is supposed to be transparent. I don't think I'm supposed to see the cow skull through the bow from a 3/4 angle.

Did the devs listen to anything about the pack? Isn't the whole point of putting it on Beta first to get player feedback and fix what's wrong with it? You didn't even fix the bugs before sending it live.

I really am disappointed. Kierthos summed it up well. I can look past the gender inequality and pretinting, but when the devs so clearly ignore the whole reason for beta testing a costume set in the first place it really gives a person doubts.

I'm a completionist. I don't like seeing that lock symbol in my tailor screen. I want all the costume pieces in the game. I even went and bought the Pilgrim hat without any plan to use it. But the feedback was apparently completely ignored by the developers on this, and that really turns me away from it. I think I can live with passing on this set until a sale or it's fixed.

If he is then he must not be in charge anymore. I remember in the past he would snarkingly defend a lot of decisions for certain pieces of costume sets he had designed.

It doesn't make sense to beta test something for a (relatively) long period of time, get tons of feedback for fix's and then shove it out the door missing a wheel.

You missed the snark with the release of 21.5?

There were quite a few "obvious" bugs that were reported but still released with 21.5

I think you mean more Crystal Hawks and less Dixie Cousins (because not referencing Brisco County Jr. in a cowboy thread is a crime in some countries)

Personally, I'd prefer options for both. And also some of those long johns for male characters.

Jay is still there - at least he was when they had that 12 hour Ustream marathon a month or so back.

I think they might keep him on a much shorter leash, at least with regards to forum posting. His posts were too sexy.

If the sets aren't up to your taste - don't buy them - the best feedback is the amount of money spent - I use to buy every pack that came out - but I've now stopped - I didn't get CoT set (I was disappointed no boss hat/helm) - I brought just the one piece - the skirt.
I didn't get the barbarian set either - again just the one piece (the belt)
If sets don't sell - the dev team will have to look into why - and which sets did better and what was special about them

Or we could just tell them. If feedback threads don't seem to help, the in-game /petition command has a suggestions category.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

I certainly won't be getting the pack as it stands. Between pre-tinting and a desperate lack of respect for gender equality, I'm utterly turned off by it.

However, I was toying with the idea of snagging a couple of the guns, as they have some interesting lines to them. It's not as vital as with other pieces, but I will ask anyway - how heavily pre-tinted are the guns, if at all? Can we at least get them looking like different types of metal? I have been remiss in finding out for myself...

Try them out yourself in the costume creator on a DP character for free. You can do so but just can't advance in the creator, even if they are locked. From what I can tell having played with the set, they take colors fairly well.

Yes, I could have tested them out (when I'm at home on my gaming system, anyway). I was just being desperately lazy and haven't done so yet.

Good to hear they are decently tintable!

Thanks!

Jay's not there any more.

I wouldn't lay all the blame for not liking a costume set on that fact, though. Every set that's ever been released has had complaints. I chalk it up to, "You can't please everyone." Unfortunately, it's not very often that people make a special point of posting approval, only disapproval.

Did he leave just after the 12 hour livestream? I recall him being a guest for during that.

Just got the set. It's kinda fugly. I might use a few pieces, but I dunno who made the decision to make these pieces as busy and complex as possible.

Also, its odd that they tell us that we can't have some costume pieces because of clipping, and then they give us the gunslinger chest detail, which basically clips with most everything.

The gunslinger belt makes no sense. What was it based on?

I don't know; I don't remember when the 12 hour livestream was. I just heard from a few Paragon Studios people mention that he's not there now. It was sometime before the Pummit, which is why he wasn't in attendance. I don't think it's a secret or anything, though I won't name names in case it is supposed to be.

The people who mentioned it sounded like he was doing well at a different studio (don't know which one), and they didn't sound mad or shocked or anything. I wouldn't read too much into it, sometimes folks go without much fanfare.
