Large pets are annoying..

Not a complaint, mainly an observation lately...

Firstly, I love MM set and I've lvl'd a few to 50, but does anyone else find the large pets annoying in combat? Even when I play as an MM and I team with other MMs, and these days it's usually the extremely large Demon pets, I find the crazy large pets (demons, bots), irritating. I've also talked to a couple of people that refuse to invite more than one MM on a team and sometimes not at all.

I'm a hardcore Scrapper player as well and I consistently split time between MM and Scrappers. But when I play as my scrap toons, I can't stand large pets especially in tight places (old school caves, Council caves). Typically I only summon certain pets when fighting in tight places, especially in a full team and I just end up spamming buffs / debuffs for the most part.

I just hope whatever set we get next, it doesn't get bigger and bigger. For this very reason, I don't play my Demon/ set all that much.

I've certainly wished, more than once, for an alternate appearance set for robots that would all be lil' drones - the battle drones are fine, but protectors and assault bots that were small fliers would be awesome.

I'll even take an option to scale them down a bit or ideally, thought not likely, give other options for pet looks.

Mostly I wish the old style caves would get replaced entirely. They're pretty terrible for teams in general, MM pets just happen to make it worse.

According to the Pummit this would be a "UI nightmare" with current tech.

I would personally also rather see those stupid maps retired than Pets changed because of them. They're, as Pitho said, annoying without Pet involvement already, Masterminds are just an easy scapegoat here.

My first 50 Mastermind was leveled all the way up in an 8 man all MM group. Circle missions were always so horrible.

@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
Code:
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

I'll have to disagree here. I like big pets especially when the big ones are the ones that make mobs cry.

I understand that allowing customized costumes for our pets would be tough but why can't we at least be allowed to change their colors. Controllers can change the colors of their pets. Why can't we?

Well, that's true too. Most of the big rooms are okay, but a group without any masterminds or pets can clot up those dang tunnels just fine, too. The big pets add to an existing problem rather than bringing in one that doesn't otherwise exist.

Just wondering would anyone object if you had just one Assault Bot type pet that was equal to all your pets combined ? Would that per say be more acceptable knowing its just one pet instead of 5 other pets and then one big one.

I know just having the Assault Bot out is not as bad when having all of them out in caves.

Gotta agree here. Especially when a MM (or MMs) has all the demon pets out and is crowded around an NPC for long periods. Makes AH'ing a real annoyance and sometimes even clicking on the NPC's period is an adventure.

And the caves... yeah, the caves. Nothing more need be said there.

I understand that "SIZE" of the pet demonstrates firepower, but in terms of game mechanics, it does nothing other that be big, that and block doors and NPC. My Necro/Dark pets, Lich and Grave Knights are normal sized toons and they make mobs cry without being annoying.

All I'm saying is this, for those players that wish to scale down their pets or give them a different look should be given an option. If you wish to leave your pets as is, then that's also an option.

Yeah I'd object to that. Pretty loudly. Part of the fun of my mastermind is having a whole ARMY behind me. That's what seperates the mastermind from other 'minion' classes.

I agree. Though I would like the option to making one super pet sometimes.

It can be hassle sometimes controlling 6 pets with the AI that is broken still.

I think I am probably one of the few bashful MM's. I started leveling both my Bot/Traps and Demon/Traps recently and I always feel like I am annoying pretty much the entire team with both, but especially Demons. One thing I think would pretty much fix everything is pretty simple, in any Non-PVP zones (for obvious reasons) or maps, allow all non-NPC's to walk/pass through pets. The scale can be annoying for visuals but there is another possibility. Make a Menu option (scale all Player Pets to half their size), not just your own but anyone who is playing can choose to shrink player pets down, on a visual scale and if they allow the ability to pass through them, then it would make it all that much better. Not only that, it would take the griefing down a couple notches as well.

Yes.

I want my pets at least as big as the extinction war walker. And more of them!

Seriously though, if people could just customize their pets a lot of this would go away. Having them be non-blocking would help but not quite solve this...

That.. is kind of brutal. I am glad i have not run into such players. In fact I did a respec trial the other night we had three MMs, a thugs, demons and myself Bots plus 4 other team mates no one said a word.. well except that things were dieing to fast and no one could see through the hail of fire bullets and missiles! it was rather fun I never once noticed the bigness.

Some times i wonder if folks just need a class to hate like in WoW it was the hunter always seems to be the pet classes if there were no MMs they would kick Illusion/ from there groups because the PA was in the way. If there was no Illusion then it would be the arachnos spiders!

Saying all that i will say, some kind of shrink power is always useful!
