Honestly...I will never buy it no matter what...but at least make thing do a bite attack. Have it be unkillable unless the person who has it dies...but make it attack. So at the very least it will fit in with the City of Heroes world you created as a type of "krypto" dog.
As of right now...it is damn stupid...and I definitely don't care to team with someone who has this immersion breaking "pet" that does absolutely nothing but sit in the middle of huge superpowered fight scratching its ears.
There's at least some VIPs that have extra points floating about. Why not spend them on a fun item? And then of course some people actually will plunk down extra cash for this. If that's what they want, I won't begrudge them.

Honestly, I'm glad to see some "four legged critter" animations being tested. I have high hopes for "lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my!" in our future.
Can you imagine the possibility for a "beast master" type Master Mind? tier one: wolves, two; tigers, three; a polar bear? Just thinkin'...

That being said...they definitely need to add a bite attack. Just one attack animation...very minor damage...only attacks the handlers target. Just something like that to actually make the dog fit in...somewhat.

Actually, we need a Super Dog Pet! It's like the normal dog, except it has super speed, a "super bark" ranged sonic attack, and has laser beam eyes.

I actually still want a full robot main, no human attempt look at all. I would settle for getting the thighs on any robot to not have the shape of every muscle group on a human. Like the clockwork arms, or skeletal mechanical. Seriously, it cannot be that hard.

I love him! Mine's name is Darius and I pull him out every mission. I would have happily paid double the cost for a dog pet. If they ever make more dog breeds, I will buy them too. I only hope we can get rid of the dog-as-toggle thing. I am tired of having to bring Darius out every time my fender eats a mez.
The toggle thing annoys me, and I don't like the way the back is grey rather than black, it doesn't look right. Otherwise I might actually buy one. Or not.

I did buy the dog but that was really in my effort to support a future little kitty for myself.

What really bugs me is, that you can't have multiple pets out anymore, but this was possible and I don't know when or why they changed it. I can't have my non combat Rikti pet, the Vanguard Pet and my blue wisp pet out at the same time.

Each pet pretty much puts up the same server load as a player. They put in the for those with a bunch of vanity pets like yourself, especially with more on the way.
