ive personally never used ambush farms lol, i do use AE mishs tailored to my specific toons (one good for fire armor, one good for ice armor, one good for elec armor, one good for anything against smash/lethal) or i just use a standard farm like the liberate tv or the snake farms

I don't know what the people are using to farm, but I know that farmers still farm farms.
you can find a farm just about anywhere. just look for farming farmers farming farms, then that should tell you everything you need to know about farms.
If your farm begins acting suspiciously, you might have a rogue farm. Please be sure to hold your farm upright at all times. Farms are testy and have been known to bite, regurgitate, defecate, and urinate when having inexperienced, lazy, worthless doorsitters present. Do not taunt a farms. A farm can do you harms. It also improves the farm when you give the farm french fries. Not the McClownburger fries, just tacos... taco fries.

also, I have found that farming farms with farming farmers is very farmy.

Very occasionally i've joined a few farm teams to see what's popular. It might not be quite as effortless as starting a thread asking for the FOTM on the forums, but it is far more effective and reliable.

From the number of requests I've gotten to assist lowbies in getting XP, I think farming has subsided a bit. Or, the REAL farmers are getting better at staying under the radar.
There are different ways to farm for different things. If you want specific salvage, I think AE is the best option. They have nerfed the second ambush, but on some maps, the first ambush along with the others in the room is enough to get you to ticket max, so in that regard, the nerf only impacted those that were trying to get xp at a faster rate than a mission outside of AE.
It all depends on what your objective is, and what type of AT/Powersets your farming toon is.
I assure you, that Infernal Demons is a fine farm - but not necessarily the best farm for fire damage dealers, as the demons may only dish out fire damage, but they also have a 20% fire damage resistance.
So, what would a fire tank farm? Find an NPC that has no fire damage resistance and doesn't deal psi damage, and that's a likely prospect.
So, the answer is, it depends.

It was introduced as a method the devs can use to curb exploits without having to take the servers down immediately.
When it was first knowingly tested by players it was broken immediately. Since fixes were put into place it runs entirely in the background and you should never, ever see it in game unless there's a hideous bug or exploit. Something along the lines of you entering Perez Park, clicking on the map tab and that killing every mob on the map and giving you credit for the kills.

OP's question: BM from Maria, Council from Unai, Liberate from TV, Demon map (if you had it before it was removed from the game). Without the ambushes, you might as well just farm outside AE. I'll take my purple drops and like it.
