Based on what was new on Beta last week and Zwillinger's posts today I'd say there's about a 99% chance we'll (at least) get the German Shepherd pet today.

Heh, Freedom was up when I checked so I went to check the market and the only thing I see is the dog pet. I'm past the point of being mad at these market releases. I just laughed my butt off at another abysmal week for the market. Maybe I'm wrong and they did release something else cool, but I highly doubt it. I think we can call this whole Paragon Market weekly release plan a complete and utter failure. It petered out after about a month. I think they should formally apologize for hyping this weekly release plan so much for it to be so bad and just start doing a monthly release or something. This whole thing has been a huge letdown. Add that to their horrible 'beta testing' they have going where nothing reported in beta is fixed and then put on live servers as is, and City of Heroes: Freedom is looking more like City of Heroes: Freedumb.

Before the Paragon Market we used to get new things (good or bad) roughly only once every 3 or 4 months. Now that we are getting new things EVERY WEEK there are bound to be weeks that are more impressive than others. I suspect that by the time we look back after the Paragon Market's been live for say six months we'll realize that we will have gotten more new stuff in those last six months than we got in the previous 7.5 years combined.

Sure you can fault them for some recent testing problems/bugs, but on the "getting new stuff every week" front trying to call that a "failure" is completely laughable.

$6.25 for a vanity pet?
Heh...heheheh...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha .

I guess they plan to put the fun stuff they have once they run out of crap to add before it. only issue with that mindset, at least for me, is that i'm beginning to think about playing something else while waiting. A ridiculously overpriced dog that does nothing but follow me around isn't exactly what i'm looking forward when it comes to "new content"...

The least thing they could so is to put some kind of monthly calendar like the weekly TFs so at least it's not a new disappointment every week. It gets old.

Remember, it's a hybrid system, not a microtransaction system. That means they can gouge worse than the in-game market ever did. Because it's hybrid.

I'm sorry but, why is the German Shephard (not wolfie =[ ) costing more than 1 episode of the Sig story arcs?..Really?

I love Paragon Studios and game , but i'm beggin ya, keep on looking at the responses to the prices you set as well as maybe, re-thinking the original idea of monthly releases , rather than the weekly releases. Just because someone else.. has that system, doesn't mean we need the same.

Pinnacle & Virtue:
A bunch of Heroes - Alpha Team, Legion of Order.
A bunch of Villains -Black Citadel , Pinnache.

well im guess im never gonna get that then lol

i was considering getting it at first if it was like 160-200 pts, but 500 is not worth the price for a vanity pet

I was expecting, like, maybe $1, and even then, thinking it'd be a bit of a stretch. But more than $6? Wow. Just...wow.

I have a new Native American themed character that I would *LOVE* to have a wolf pet for. But for 500 points, I doubt I will buy it, especially with other things I can spend my points on.

However, they're still experimenting with new market releases and what to charge for things. If sales for this vanity pet are too low, then hopefully they'll drop the price soon.

... and actually give us a real Wolf pet.

My reaction precisely.
Especially considering the new 'pet toggles' limiting just one out at a time this becomes just that humorous.

That sucks. I was hoping for something else. Kinda pricey

Really, I could understand 400 points. Spend your stipend, get a pet.

But when you're got to save your points from multiple months to get a fluff item, that's just silly.

I agree that price is too high. 400 points maximum. 350 or 300 even better.

:epic eyeroll:

So wait for it to go on sale, for crying out loud. Such is the beauty of Freedom. You get to pick and choose what you think is worth it, what you'll hold off a while on buying until it's cheaper, and what you really don't care about at all.

I think this expectation that everything will be a buck or two was a bit naive. It's the new shiny. If it has abysmal sales, they'll probably lower the price. Eventually, it will undoubtedly go on sale, probably for 200 or 250 points.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

I love the wolf pet and would have bought it even at 800 points but since TW still isn't in the store despite being ready since a good week or two now, I'm going to be petty and not buy the wolf.

Suck it, marketing.

I guess I'll be waiting for this to go on sale, no way I'm paying 500 points for a vanity pet. Paint me totally bummed, was looking forward to adding it to a couple characters.

For those complaining that the German Shepherd is $6.25... Just remember that a certain other game released a pet for $25. And people bought it in droves.

yeah but the German Shepherd is a vanity pet, that means it does nothing. At least in that other game the $25 was going toward something mildly useful (though the price was still to high even for it).

Games which allow you to earn currencies in game or have occasional sales on points as well as store items gouge you even worse. We can be thankful about that at least.

Celestial_Lord's sig just saw the price of the German Shepard pet...

I agree the price is too high. But I also remember that these are weekly releases, and we've been told that some weeks will be lighter than others, some weeks will have stuff that we do not want, and some weeks will carry highly desired items.

Look at it as a week where you get to save some money, and in the future, avoid getting your hopes up. You'll only ever be pleasantly surprised that way.

OR, look at it from a business standpoint: they just released some new additions and incentives to play the 50+ game, and they are likely releasing the TPN Incarnate Trial very soon. They want the players to play that stuff, so why would they release a highly desired power set (Titan Weapons) that will make everyone want to roll up lowbies?

I am not, in any way, a fan of the above logic because I am not a huge fan of the Incarnate system, but unfortunately, it stands as logic. :/
