Sadly, they're doing what Charlie's Angels, Starksy and Hutch and basically all TV shows made into movies...turning them into comedies.

Which basically makes these movies in name only. :/

This isn't to say the movie won't be funny, but it won't be 21 Jump Street either.

This should do as well as Car 54 where are you and the Honeymooners

You know you are old when Hollywood is now tapping into the late 80s/early 90s TV for nostalgia.

Hmmm... did Seth Rogan do this one too?

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

I wonder if they'll get Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise to do cameos...

yeah, this irritated me and I didn't even watch the original. As mentioned above, though, this is what you can expect from older shows being made into movies. I remember when there was talk about Jim Carrey doing the movie version of The Six Million Dollar Man. I never saw any treatment for it, but I assume it centered around the fact that six million isn't a lot of money these days for a cyborg. I imagine the film would have been filled with hilarious moments such as Steve's legs breaking down, causing him to flop around on the ground like an idiot, or his arm rusting off.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Speaking of Lee Majors, there's also a Fall Guy in the works. Given the need for a guy with a face like a leather bag of hammers to chase hot blondes, hoping against hope it's not Will Ferrell.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

It was a bad show then, I expect the movie to be worse.

Robot Chicken has already addressed this with the 6 Million Peso Man:

Both Mod Squad and Miami Vice went the traditional procedial route with added grit, and they both didn't do so well. Maybe comedy will work? Maybe...? Yeah even I don't believe that.

I guess they used the title "21 Jump Street" because "Crappy Comedy Vehicle for Jonah Hill" didn't have the same buzzworthiness.

Now, I've been saying for YEARS that they should remake 21 Jumpstreet as a new series. Considering the state of teenage affairs and the number of teen based dramas that are popular, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer. Hell, we've got 20-somethings playing teenagers anyways.

And THIS is what they come up with?
